Sad how everyone is bashing Chinese and Asians in general. The behavior of 2 people on the subway should not characterize the behavior of 1.3 billion people. Even the poster said that the video is not meant to bash China and its people. As people also mentioned, no country is perfect. A homeless illegal immigrant in NYC saved a lady from a rapist and was wounded a while back. His reward was bleeding to death while ~10 ppl walked by w/o even trying to help.
That's why, in the description box, the person who uploaded the video said that helping out in China may cause one to get in trouble in some sort of way. So, people learn from this generous man's story and now, they are afraid or don't want to be a part of this (anything that has to do with helping) because they don't want to be sued or jailed for something they didn't do. So thanks to that one family, people don't want to be generous anymore.

I am a Hong-Kong born Chinese, and I can tell you that the attitude from the two men were very distasteful. The problem with Chinese society is that people has lost the will to respect each other; they are brought up by parents who do not wish to educate their children with manners. This is why I think China needs to implement the Confucius teachings; in South Korea I see younger people more well manner, because their system is based on teachings of Confucianism.

@tightlywound Have you heard about the toddler run over by vehicles in China with unhelpful adults walking past? Their reason? They did not want to get in trouble with the law. This was in the past month. There is something seriously amiss with the Chinese judicial system. As a foreigner you would generally take your cues for behaviour from the residents around you. There are parts of America that are as callous as the people in this video, You are a judgemental fool.

You say we shouldnt generalize, but did you see the video where two cars run on a toddler and 10, 20, 30 people pass and NO ONE stops to help the little baby, who eventually dies...This would NEVER happen in any other country I know. I didn't speak the language and the police there are not that friendly towards foreigners... the guy could destroy my camera then easily talk to the police and invert the situation telling I was causing trouble. I'm not saying that it is right to be treated in that way, but you have to understand our cultures are very different. The mentality in those countries is "We work hard to be where we are, so instead of begging, work hard and go make something of yourself too." In America we stand apart from the world in our compassion for the disabled and elderly, which is what's great and unique about America compared to other countries. This is really just a display of how our cultures are vastly different.

@jloudkerkpool The woman was not hurt, it was just an humiliation to her. I had no idea what was going on or what they were saying. No one moved and I felt powerless. So I recorded and later someone translated to me, and now I'm showing to the public so the stupid guy in blue will perhaps be identified. It was a terrible experience and if I could I would have left the country right away!
