I think Denzel should have won for his role. This clearly was a make up award for awards that Al clearly should have won for both his roles in the Godfather movies and he should have won for dog day afternoon and even though I was glad Al finally won an award, I still don't think he should have won.
Al Pacino is without a doubt one of the greatest American actors. The problem here is, Al should have one years ago. I think the voters realised this and decided to give it to him for this film, which in my opinion wasn't his best. Denzel should have one that year. Fast forward and you see Denzel winning for Training Day, which was a good job but it wasn't his best. His best was for Malcolm X.

Im from India and I used to inspire such people decade ago ... Why aren't there actors like Tom Hanks, Bill murray, Travolta, Samuel Jackson or Denzel Washington TODAY ... Every Hero has Six Packs with pretty face now... Heroes are ripping their shirt just to show off their body in most movies for NO REASON ... Now Heroes are pretty rather than showin of their Acting skills ... Hollywoods Acting School might be near THE GYM or may be inside THE GYM .... Damn, I miss these actors ......

They gave Al Pacino an Academy Award for this movie and this was not his best performance he should have been won a Academy Award for almost every movie he has made -Pacino should have told them what they could do with that award-and that would have been a great performance

The only reason He didn't get it for Scarface is because at that time, it was some bullshit debate about the glorification of drugs in that era. He would have gotten it if that movie was made in the 90s... One of the greatest upsets and robberies in Movie history but We all know He won it for Scarface.
