"See, the fact that free health care pisses off selfish arseholes like you, who'd rather let poor people die than give up one shilling, to me, that's the main appeal of free health care. That fact that it saves poor people's lives is merely an added bonus."
Lol! Yes! Dechha, that quote deserves to go in the annals of history my friend. Pure gold!
'The Trap - What Happened to Our Dream of Freedom?'
"It has been found that the only people who really fit the simplified mathematical model of self-interested rational behavior at all times are economists and psychopaths."
That pretty much sums it up for me regarding Ayn Rand and her followers.
Ayn Rand was a lunatic. I read Atlas Shrugged and it wasn't too far in that I started to actually started to find the protagonists to be disgusting, heartless, psycho bastards. I suppose it makes sense that republicans would be fans of such a psychopathic philosophy.
05:23 This argument is something I've had to address with a friend of mine. "Why don't they just pull themselves up by their Bootstraps"? "Why do they live in such shitty neighborhoods"? I had to explain Cycles of Poverty, Institutionalized Racism, Cycles of Violence/Abuse, Illiteracy, Profiling, etc. Should people try to better themselves? Yes! But we shouldn't ignore that there are certain things that hold people back who come from poverty. Society works very hard to keep us ignorant.
this was a pritty good video...but your long` this there fore` gets me lost..not that i care,.. cos i know what your trying to say..but your logic rants tend to be a bit long and complex..... add a pic or some thing...as im a pritty bight block not i soon get lost following along.... (i feel dumb now haha)
They use 'none' because if they said 'atheist' then it would (or could) pull in atheistic religions. Also, when the question is "what is your religion", would you say "atheist"? Probably not, since atheism is not a religion.
that is why the category is 'nones'. Or they are idiots. I'm willing to place blame on both factors if you are.
I'd still would have killed the selfish bastard.

I wouldn't criticize a great novel without at least reading it first.
Signofthedollar 2 years ago
As long as it is just a novel, OK.
Unfortunately some think it's much more, that this book tells us how we ought to live.
Maybe I don't want to spill money into the pockets of the Ayn Rand foundation when I find some of it's goals questionable...

I totally take all my morals from Yoda. I personally can't think of a greater moral figure...
The obligatory 'May the Force be with you' that I have to give now.

The example in #6 was so well stated and logical.
Was honestly the best laugh I've had all week. Circular logic for the win.
Would I kill you to save the life of a Sick person? No, but Dechha does give a solid argument for why I should, if so inclined.
