  • Mute was crappy. Don't deny it. Look at that flipper! It doesn't work at all!

  • Any movement is positive movement.

  • I absolutely adore robots like Cedric Slammer. Simple construction, nice weapon, all with a bit of comic relief. With some speed, it would be brilliant.

  • "mute" is muted xD

  • imagine storm 2 with a flipper like mutes

  • BETTER THAN SMACKDOWN!

  • @Marcel3540 because it REAL

  • @Marcel3540 dude me craooing in the floor is better than Smackdown

  • @shellysabin123 I agree craooing is much better

  • @ryanhigafan206 i ment crapping

  • cool

  • wheres razer? thats my favorite robot!!!

  • i didn't know tony iommi was on robot wars! grand daddy of heavy metal, should've guessed.

  • very very very very heavy

  • razor is awesome

  • razor is the BEST EVER!!!

  • My god this is awesome :D

  • if mute's flipper opened the other way, it ould be miles better. that flipper design only really worked on firestorm

  • who do you think would win out of firestorm and mute with novice drivers?

  • @DoMw94 What about cassius. That was the first front hinged flipper.

  • mute and storm 2 would be a sick team

  • there should`ve been an grudge TagTeam anyway. Firestorm&Panic Attack, Razer&Tornado, Chaos2&Hypnodisc, Storm II&Mute(or supernova) and stuff like that.

  • yay!!!! mr. sphyco!!!

  • Cedric Slammer should have won, but it did receive a lot more damage from Mr Psycho.

  • the commentator said Cedric didnt do much to dmg.. it just looked cool.. in fact... Mute made so both got immobalized so Mute is fair winner..

  • I strongly disagree with this ruling. Cedric Slammer was limping but it WAS still mobile, while Mute didn't so much as twitch after its one and only flip. And on damage, Cedric Slammer may not have been able to inflict more than cosmetic damage, but that still counts.

  • I agree with you. Neither bot was making true forward progress, but, hey, one of them (Cedric Slammer) was spinning in a semi-circle and the other (Mute) wasn't making one jolt. So in my book, Cedric's mobility = zero, and Mute's = even less. Thus, Cedric wins.

  • Less then zero is still zero :P

Both were immobilised either way and Mute was more aggressive. It was a very weird decision though.

  • Yeah...

BTW Less than zero does not equal zero. That's what negative numbers are for. 5 - 6 = -1. Somewhat irrelevant, but hey, it matters....sort of :)

  • Yeah it does matter :p

But less then zero movement is still zero movement as you cant really have negative movement ^^

  • Yeah, you're right; I'd love so see a robot move -2 inches :P ...negative movement isn't really possible...or IS it???

  • It would be funny :P

  • @TheScrabbleKing

Depends on whether you mean speed or velocity by movement. Negative speed is impossible, negative velocity is possible.

  • The Mute team said they never fought spinners before, they must have forgot Terror Turtle and it's SPINNING ARM!

  • 3000 rpm like black hole ^^

  • I still feel Mute is a bit crap. The flipper is a tad too powerful compared to the like of Firestorm and V-Max, say. Mute isnt low enough either, and very lucky!

  • I think it'd be a much better robot (Mute) if it's flipper was opening the other way like Chaos 2's or if it was more of a wedge.

  • I think it'd be better if Mute was longer and the flipper was bigger.

  • WTF? Mutes weakness is it's flipper is forward-hinged? There are loads of robots that have flippers like that, there's

    Cassius

    Envy

    Firestorm

    GBH

    V-Max

& JPearce says Mute's weakness is it has a flipper like the above robots, I don't see why it should if there are loads of flippers like Mute's

  • whats envy?

  • Envy's a robot with a forward-hinge flipper that competes today in the Roaming Robots events

  • GBH had a scoop, GBH 2's flipper was rear-hinged. Have I missed something?

  • Sorry, I meant Facet when I said GBH 2. I can't remember GBH 2, so you're probably right.

  • GBH 2 was the race-car that fought in S3's heat.

  • Ah yes, I remember now. Cheers.

  • And Jonathan Pearce Never complains about Firestorm's flipper. :S

  • Seeing the UK episodes for the first time, Mute was my favorite robot. It's a good machine, but it's way too damn lucky.

  • If they were both immobilised at the same time, why not do a rematch? Based on what happened with Chaos 2 and S.M.I.D.S.Y, that's what should have happened. I wish the producers would come up with just one set of rules and stick with it.

  • Chaos 2 was immobilised on its back and Smidsy on the side of the arena but both their drives and weapons were still working (Chaos 2 only needed a new polycarb cover on its flipper). Judging by this video, Mute was no longer running drive-wise and Cedric Slammer lost one side. Its possible that due to time restraints running the show, the robots couldn't repair their drives in sufficient time for a rematch and it would've made for a poor battle if half-working robots were ordered to refight.
