  • Did I hear tangerines and Elvis are playin in the band?

  • i miss my daddy, this was one of our favs.

  • This is the song that always reminds me of my father and I. We used to dance to this when I was little. :'( I miss ya daddy, where ever you are now.

  • ha love the big lebowski reference

  • lol tangerines and apples are playin in the band!

  • @myxmytosis Here he sings "tangerines and Elvis are playin' in the band"

  • @myxmytosis He is saying Tamborines and Elephants, the same lyrics from 40 years ago. Then Tangerines and Elvis.

  • OVER THE LINE !!

  • beware of the trash container !!

  • 'Tangerines' and elephants??

  • I love this!

  • Yeah I get it, fuck off DaFino! Stay away from my special lady friend!

  • The Dude abides. Now, where's my Creedance tapes?

  • man he has an amzing voice hes changed his songs a little bit since he was with ccr tho his solo was a little bit different

  • Thank God for people born with the gift for writing beautiful music. And thank the Fogerty's for sharing.

  • now this is an alright cover

  • @JonahBlack100 This isn't a cover. John Fogerty is the original singer from Creedence.

  • @JonahBlack100

You are made of pure stupid, aren't you?

  • @SSTTEEAALLTTHH Shut up. "cover" was just a poor choice of words. I probably know more about music then you do.

  • @JonahBlack100

You could know more of music THAN I do, not "then I do", and honestly I couldn't care less. Are you really bragging on the Internet about knowledge no one can confirm you have? That's fucking sad...

  • @SSTTEEAALLTTHH It's not bragging. your the one who calls people you don't know stupid. YOU can't confirm that I'm stupid.

  • @DanielSel John Fogerty was the only composer, the rest of the band wrote horrible songs

  • I'm young again !

  • @DanielSel Apparently Fogerty is a little too controlling

  • 2 key changes!!! one of the best sawngs ever!!!

  • isn't the base player here also a CCR band member.

  • @muhammadtaimur No, he's called George Hawkins Jr. He does kinda look like Stu Cook, CCR's bassist.

  • @hardstylemetalchick I listen to rock, and metal myself... and I like it

  • I like this song for some reason. It is unusual for me to listen to this kind of music on youtube when I listen to electronic music and metal. ust in a weird mood I suppose.

  • Deana3451. Gee look Billy Burnette .wait, the man himself John Fogerty

  • Awesome

  • Jesus, do they feed him embalming fluid for breakfast?

He looks exactly the same as 40 years ago.

  • I feel like I must smack the roof of a car every time I hear this song

  • why cant these old greats good a good backing band? i'm talking the drummer here.

  • OH YES!

  • Kenny Aronoff is undoubtedly a great drummer, probably one of the best. But he doesn't fit into this music. He's too "perfect", too technical. Doug Clifford is by far not as good a drummer yet much better for this classic rock!

  • Shut the fuck up, Donny!!

  • @opposer Your out of you element here Donny!

  • lol looks like he got that gap fixed up

  • @DanielSel Basically, John wanted to have more control than his bandmates -- i.e., his brother Tom, Stu Cook, and Doug Clifford -- were comfortable giving him.

  • I'm lovin' it!!!

  • Eleven people don't have a back door.

  • 1:02 gary oldman

  • Excellent! My favourite of Mr. Fogerty's many classic songs!

  • @DanielSel I agree- no offense but it's hard to have Tom in the band-RIP in 1990

  • Love how when he sings this live he salutes Buck Owens.

  • This is true "oldies music". There is none better. Thank you John Fogarty and of course CCR!!!

  • ooo love it it good music

  • Dude still sounds great.

  • John Fogerty wanted Stu and Doug to contribute to the group. As the group's songwriter, Fogerty battled his record company for years and didn't get the support he was looking for from Cook (bass) and Doug Clifford (drums), so the beginning of the end was when he told them they had to write material and carry their weight (so to speak). When inducted into the R&R Hall of Fame, Fogerty wouldn't let either Stu or Doug perform with him on stage that night, a he performed w/ a different b-up group

  • @daveyp49 Its bullshit how that ended the greatest band. It sad to think 3 out of the original 4 are alive and cant collectively play together simply cause none of them can just man up and apologize.

  • @DanielSel

if my memory is correct as a 3 piece band ( Tom F had left) Stu Cook & Doug Clifford wanted input..hence on the album Mardi Gras it's quite easy to spot the John Fogerty offerings from his bandmates'. No offence to Stu & Doug intended...music is music. J Fogerty's diverse offferings R 'Looking for a reason' (almost C+W) to 'Sweet Hitch Hiker' ( very Travelin' Band like ). Perfection. The first 2 LP's I bought were Cosmos Factory & Bayou Country..top class tracks throughout !

  • @DanielSel i think they just did. i think it had somthing to do with tom fogerty. yes tom. the rythem guitar player. not john, the one everybody loves

  • i dont agree with what john is doing. hes not johnny cash cant go solo. just dont sound right to me now. he lost his southern swager.

i think he should have hung up the guitar and mic 10 years ago. is it just me or does he sound like shit live now. he use to sound the EXACT same as in studio. now he just sounds like a cover band.

none the less CCR is probably the greatest band that ever lived!

  • @ronedogg69

Sorry, but I have to disagree with you. He doesn't sound like he did 40 years ago, but he can still rock better than most of today's musicians. I'm only 25 and only recently discovered CCR and John Fogerty. Its awesome to come on YouTube and watch a legend in action. A whole new generation gets to be exposed to the music of yesterday. Not just a lot of the crap that they play and dare to call music today. Lets see if you look and sound exactly the same in 40 years!

  • @ronedogg69 You dont play music do you?Other than the stereo or youtube. You dont just hang up your "guitar and mic" we will all play till we die! And im sure there are bills to pay! Maybe 10 years ago John should have started selling cars or life insurance. lol OK! Besides john was CCR.

  • @RORYzRIGHT

oh so all of a sudden you know me?

i use to play guitar in the 90s. was in a small band too.

then i gave it up because it wasn't paying the bills lol but we all play till we die!!!1!

Hes got enough money he dont need to pay no fucking bills lol

all i know is when john fogerty does pass away. i will wanna remember his younger years. not this. I guess thats all i was really saying.

    @grosegoode

your 25 and just found CCR. They just thaw you out in the cryogenics lab?

  • @ronedogg69

LOL Maybe I just did get thawed out.

When I was younger, I'd heard many of CCR's songs but didn't know who they were or that CCR even existed.

  • @ronedogg69 Oh so all of a sudden you know all about John fogertys finances. And if you think he dosent pay bills you are high! We all have to pay taxes till we die.Right? And how do you know you are going to out live him? no no no im just kidding around really im not serious .J/K Rock on man:-)

  • good solo

  • thats a good song

  • 10 or maybe 12 years ago, one of my kids came home and played me some 'new' music, you guessed it, CCR... I went over to the record shelf and pulled down a few albums, and told him to 'give this a try', and he got this "look" on his face and said, 'Not again.'... we'd gone through this a couple of monthes earlier with Proud Mary, and Tina Turner.

    ..

What's old, is new again...truer words were never spoken.

  • this version really rocks!

  • love this song, just looooove it rock on John!!!!!!!!!

  • I saw him in 1985, 1996 and when he and Willie went on tour... lots of smoke at that one.

  • My grandma really liked John Fogerty. I don't understand why though. May she rest in peace.

  • @Werewolf211 Your grandma liked good music then!

  • John, the master at the classics :D

  • @DanielSel cause nothing lasts forever.. u know? ............. anyways ccr and john have been my biggest influences, not to mention Jim Morrison, Bunbury and Bowie :)...... and now.. its Soda Stereo... the best from the best.

  • excelente- sin palabras. Gracias John Fogerty. Argentina, pais creedencero!

  • i love this band however i was not born when they were together and i would like to say that here in mexico they are such a popular band, and in many places around my house their songs are still listened to.

  • since the original record, he hasn't dropped these songs a single note, still the original key!! now that's real tallent!!

  • @royraaijmakers Yeah, I hate it when artists do that, dropping the tuning just because they're getting old. Instead of fighting to keep their voice in shape, they make it easier on themselves.

The proof's right here. Fogerty sounds way batter than 90% of singers his age. Almost identical to the studio recording.

The only other one I can think of that still sounds as good as he did 40 years ago is Paul McCartney.

  • too bad i haven't seen paul, nor john one single time. but it's on my "stuff i still wanna do" list.

  • lol at 1:25 he says tangerines and elvis hahahahahahahah i nvr noticed that till now tell me if u agree

  • @PancakeMix21 I honestly thought he said tangerines and elephants

  • @tomandz4 In one version of this, he says tangerines and Elvis

  • This song always made me smile. In fact, most Fogerty songs make me smile.

  • @DanielSel he get in a argument with his brother and the rest of the band... he never talked with his brother again.

  • its crazy how music like this is timeless. awesome!

  • Anyone else realize that he said "tangerines" not "tambourines"?

    1:25

  • @bikerD15 me xD

  • I apologize for shamelessly plugging my own music, but if anybody wants to hear my cover version of this song, go check it out on my music channel. Recorded 8-19-2010. Feel free to listen to the other music I have uploaded as well. Thanks :)

  • @DrewKestell good job man! :D I would mute the strings a bit, however :)

  • @CaptainTaelos Thanks for the tip :)

  • @DanielSel cause fogerty is a douche

  • i listened to this growing up

  • he has like THE perfect live voice. It's just amazing!

  • SKA TILL DEJ PÅ FREDAG

  • @DanielSel They were having problems with their label as well as a power struggle for decisions within the band.

  • He looks very, very good, but his voice is dramatically different.

  • @dror91 On this song he sounds almost the same.

  • @dror91 His voice probably craps out when he does the raspy thing, that's probably why he doesn't do or tones it down now.

  • why don't they play this on the radio more often!!

  • @DanielSel because of their jackass producer.....

  • i hve this DVD...the best song at this concert is Proud Mary!

  • He doesn't look bad for a sixty year old, about t the same age as me. Us Irish guys age well. I read somewhere that he uses banjo strings on his guitar to get that distinctive sound. This band is obviously not Creedance, but they sound pretty good. Kind of a funk-a-billy version of this song.

  • @DanielSel probably because lots of fights. thats what have you ever seen the rain is about. and they would never get back because tom is dead

  • Rock on Fogerty your still the best..Soul ,a poet.

  • Boys, let´s face reality - we may have lost teeth and hair, real music hasn´t..

  • Awesome.. That's pretty much it... AWESOME!!!!!!!

  • "Well Tangerines & Elvis are playing in the band."

  • Tangerines = Orange (Solar Sun Seal) & Elvis who is usually referred to as the the 'King of Rock'... Or simply the 'King'...

(For 'Solar Sun Seal' photo see symbols of Osiris & Ra)...

  • @TyrInfinite it's tambourines and elephants silly

  • can't wait to see him in sweden this summer! i love him!

  • toujours excellent ce john fogerty

  • @TheRivergreen

    oui :P

  • timeless song !!!

  • Nice!

  • Frist, John's brother Tom bolted for a solo career. Then Stu and Doug demanded on the next CCR album that they get to write songs and sing lead as well. That album flopped. So John decided that the band was finished and tried to launch a solo career. He had a couple of solo albums in the mid 70's, but lawsuits kept him inactive until Centerfield in 1985.

  • Weergaloos !

  • They should come back togeter to be to ther best!!! i love them

  • its pretty much a one man show

nothing wrong with that, he´s great, he´s the only one who could perform that song, given his unique voice

He has gathered great musicans to support him, and you dont need the old boys to have a fantastic night, seen him 5 times the last 3 years.

I dont see CCR playing together again, maybe for a fundraising thing, but i doubt is, John IS CCR.

  • the best of CCR.. John Fogerty. He just keeps going.. we are greatful!

  • Einfach super megal geil.

  • Cousins got together to take in he and his band.

fabulous show. We all stayed overnight at the same hotel and needed crutches the next morning after the rock and rolling. Great memories.

  • He definitely says, "Tambourines and elephants are playing in the band." you should get those lyrics correct

  • I have to agree with Choogler1 here - he does say "tangerines and Elvis" the second time through. I recall reading sometime ago that he has a bunch of misunderstood lyrics like that one and "there's a bathroom on the right" from another song ("Bad Moon Rising") and that he is aware of those misunderstood lyrics. He sometimes uses the alternate lyrics just for the hell of it. It's a good sign I guess, it means he pays attention to the fans.

  • listened to the live concert cd yesterday and I picked up on this -- tambourines the first time, tangerines the second time. :) but heck he could say almost anything and most people wouldn't know the difference, especially in this song. LOL

  • he did that in minneapolis, it was pretty funny. he even pointed and hopped to his right a little

  • That's right!

  • I may be 15 and most people think thats what kids like me listen to but screw rap. The worst music ever. CCR, Led Zepplin, Beatles all the good old bands will always live on as ledgens. Rap has just killed kids and other peoples taste in music. This kind of music give people smiles and a great time. if i could i would go back and live when the music was good. CCR will always be the best

  • omg...what ur 15 and u think like that.......u my boy are sooo mature for ur age ...god bless ye buddy..ull grow up to be a fine man..rock on my bro..

  • You are a young person who happens to know good juke when you hear it!

  • Thanks. sixty's......my gosh the best age of music. The 50s through late 70s. Gotta love it!

  • You should check out Derrick and The Dominos. In my opinion, it's Erick Clapton at his best! I think that he's the best guitar player. ( at least, one of the best)

  • IM TWENTY YEARS OLD AND GLORIFY CCR. sure there are other great bands now a days and back in their day, but they are one of a kind

  • And well you should. They are great; but learn a lesson from the dispute between John and his elder bro, Tom. Heartbreaking.

  • id like to shake ur hand bud....great comment bro...

  • love the James Burton-esque chicken pluckin on the guitar

  • I wonder how us army veterans made it through the army without John Fogerty and Creedence? They were there at a time they were needed so desperately. From the Bay area, they were anything but fower power rock. Stu, Doug, John, and Tom (deceased), thanks for the memories!
