@scramasboy The ones she has troubles with are in Db (half step lower so it's easier to sing). If you see a live one and it's in D, it means she's doing ok vocally. Well.. you can hear it too once you listen. Still though, You gotta love how she sings that oooon the edge part. very soft very nice E flat

This song was sung so flawlessly, but funnily enough, because it's celine dion, and only celine dion - when she falters the tiniest bit, we're like..uhoh, she's having a bit of trouble. God, this woman is amazing - this was a great preformance and I wish she would always sing it live. But I guess she has the reputation of that voice and she needs to keep it.

celine had trouble with this song from the get go....when I saw her in the Manchester U.K. soundcheck she went over and over certain phrases;sometimes starting in a lower range...she's a sweetheart tho' she apologised to us for being late to the soundcheck........Man U soccer match caused traffic problems....

Right after this, she stopped singing this song live and started having it dubbed for a bit. I think it's just so low and so high, it's a hard song to sing live. I saw her live in concert earlier this year and she sang it live and was fantastic. She's got it down now.

hey PJ. no offense but yes, celine needed a freshening up.

taking chances was a complete departure from her "signature sound". if you listen to the tracks back to back youll see that celine completely went for the same execution of kara's original. Celines is a version since kara wrote it. the breaths, the raspy intro etc. this is not and has never been in celines arsenal. im not saying its not great it is. you cant make something your own unless you change it. celine did it verbatim.

completely agree - i am a massive celine fan but i was familier with this version before hers came out and i was having real trouble adjusting to celine singing it. she can NOT handle this song live at all...it just falls flat - she could have done 10 years ago. Dirk, Celine doesn't need to be given "new style" at all. She's been in the music industry for over 25 years and has her own style and character. Kara's version is great, but Celine made it her own.

Celine chose to go for a "new sound". She was feeling like she needed to get more of an edge. She talked about it in interviews. That's what the whole album is like (the one with this song). She chose DioGuardi as a producer to help her find this edge she was seeking. People work with producers to gain a vision they feel would be helpful to them. If Celine didn't want this, she would have produced it herself with no arguments from anyone.

i agree that celine's version sounds extremely similar to kara's, but keep in mind that kara was the one who produced this song. and from the behind the scenes videos that came with her CD, kara was extremely nitpicky and had celine redo everything until she got it exactly to what she had in mind. so in a sense, celine is really great at giving the producers of her albums exactly what the want XP
