have introduced myself with clothing and fashion history and what I found is that in Islam first there were no niqabs and burqas but only modest dresses and headcovers. Mostly in the year 500 there was much christians around Muhhammed and jewish and arabian tribes (not muslims of course)where married women must cover their faces and bodies totally. For excample Byzantine christian women used to wear face veils and long dresses with long sleeves. Muhhamed just took these customs over.

The Quran(24:31) explicitly states for women to EXTEND their khimars. This was because women in those days already used to cover their heads with the khimar, throwing its ends upon their backs and leaving the neck and the upper part of the chest bare, along with the ears. Hijab has only one message and that is that men are depraved animals with no self-control over their sexual urges.
What this girl is saying is pure bullshit. If she wants someone - and I am assuming she means men - to accept her for her personality, then she should also cover her face so that her face is not shown. With the face still showing and the figure too she still manages to send a message to men that she is a woman and not too bad to look at; to put simply "fuckable".

If you relate the wearing of a hijab to reducing the number of rapes etc, you are wrong. You would still get perverts even if you wore 7 veils.
Women covered their hair before Islam came into form. It was part of Arab culture to do so. The quran tells women to draw their veils over their bossoms and wear loose clothing. But before it says anything about the covering of a woman. It says the man should lower his gaze. Man is required to cover the lower portion of his body.

This is BS. Muslim women do have to ask their husband permissions before leaving the house, visiting their parents, having friends over the house. I have many books on Islam from Islamic scholars, A book Jamal ad-din zarabozo translated on marriage talks about this. He even has a section on how to beat your wife without causing bruising!!! Yeah yeah go look throughout the arab world and see how Islamic women are treated.

the other thing i wanna mention is when they were saying how Hijab doesn't stop them from doing the things they want. that's because they don't like/wanna do it.
i like to dress up and look good and do my hair,etc.. doesnt make me a bad person for that. and how is that fair for ME to wear scarf when it makes me feel like i cant do the things i want/like.
its just they have that advantage.

i used to wear scarf for 5 years and it only brought me depression and opression. some women may disagree and that's 100% fine with me because that's how THEY feel about it. we all are different beings, and have different feelings towards certain things. and i don't think its fair for ME since these women are on advantage for liking it.

@gooshi28 You dont have to have a hijab to be modest. A matter of fact the hijab the veil, and Islamic rules and obligations have caused a lot of sexual rebellion in the islamic world. Just recently we heard about many women in saudi arabia going on webcams to show their body. When you try to control people with OCD type rules, you will get an internal rebellion.

Three young teenage girls and an older Muslim woman were murdered just recently in Kingston, Ontario, Canada because they didn't want to wear the hijab-they wanted freedom but their mother, brother and father all killed them.
Last year a 16 year old girl in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada was murdered by her father and brother because she did not want to wear the hijab.

I understand what u mean...but I will add somthing lots of people miss....
the head cover has a spirtual influence on the lady herself ,so its not totally about the appearance....so for example if a non-hijabi muslimah or a hijabi muslimah who is all alone in her room with zero people around her and she wants to pray ...she would cover her head,stand and then start praying...so there is this aspect as well.

have introduced myself with clothing and fashion history and what I found is that in Islam first there were no niqabs and burqas but only modest dresses and headcovers. Mostly in the year 500 there was much christians around Muhhammed and jewish and arabian tribes (not muslims of course)where married women must cover their faces and bodies totally. For excample Byzantine christian women used to wear face veils and long dresses with long sleeves. Muhhamed just took these customs over.

And we worship him by carrying out what he commands, even if we don't fully understand it and our wisdom may say otherwise. What we as muslims believe is what our book says, "he (ALLAH) is the almighty all wise".
