The Russians lost millions because their army was in bad shape, in terms of weapons. I am an American that is intelligent and I find this disgusting. I can't disagree with any of this, but I do find it entertaining though. But hey, when my brother was recently buried in Arlington, many of them did not know what that place was or where it was. Try this, I also saw a play in Fords Theatre and most did not know what happened there. Quite honestly, I was very annoyed that I had to explain to them what these places were.

@1981macman I know about them. Our schools do teach these things. Abraham Lincoln is covered extensively. Some people just don't retain information. They aren't detail oriented so they only remember "Lincoln was shot seeing a play". Of course we are taught about Arlington. Many tourists even go there to pay respect.

@1981macman I watched "Underbelly" and some other show, but I can't remember it's name. About some shady crime family, literally a family (mom, kids, etc). It's been too long. I also watched "Wilfred". I usually don't like it when the US does remakes, but I think the FX remake of "Wilfred" with Elijah Wood is a bit better. I watched "The Almighty Johnsons" but that's from New Zealand. Haven't watched Alcatraz. True Blood and Spartacus are popular here.

@SHADOWMAN145 9/11 was a mind-numbingly shock inspiring experience and it went on for a long time. You would have to be a New Yorker to understand the gravity and dread. Many Europeans are so desensitized they have fantasies in their head that it was a conspiracy when those theories have all been debunked. The little square between all the government buildings would typically be filled with (usually poorly educated and informed) homeless people and (usually well educated and informed) state workers. It was a popular spot for "Albanians are retarded!" videos on the local news. And they'd only target the people that looked like they were probably homeless. People wearing suits were invisible.

@Statimtek Germany is a cool country, but in fairness, they are surrounded by nations that speak different languages. We are near Canada, so there's not as much need to learn different languages although it's cool that Germans do. My one friend from Germany could speak 5 languages fluently. Very impressive.

As for teens, studies (even the French, the UN, etc) all rank the US far higher on achievement tests (math, science, reading). Britain isn't even in the top 20! I am an American that is intelligent and I find this disgusting. I can't disagree with any of this, but I do find it entertaining though. But hey, when my brother was recently buried in Arlington, many of them did not know what that place was or where it was. Try this, I also saw a play in Fords Theatre and most did not know what happened there. Quite honestly, I was very annoyed that I had to explain to them what these places were.

There is a complete disconnect to the realities of the world which is what Washington wants. They want everyone to feed the economic machine and be quiet and/or remain uninformed. These people are an embarrassment, I would guess that the people that got the answers right weren't included in the clip.

@1981macman I know about them. Our schools do teach these things. Abraham Lincoln is covered extensively. Some people just don't retain information. They aren't detail oriented so they only remember "Lincoln was shot seeing a play". Of course we are taught about Arlington. Many tourists even go there to pay respect.

@1981macman I watched "Underbelly" and some other show, but I can't remember it's name. About some shady crime family, literally a family (mom, kids, etc). It's been too long. I also watched "Wilfred". I usually don't like it when the US does remakes, but I think the FX remake of "Wilfred" with Elijah Wood is a bit better. I watched "The Almighty Johnsons" but that's from New Zealand. Haven't watched Alcatraz. True Blood and Spartacus are popular here.

They interview a ton of people and only show the ones that make mistakes. For everyone saying 9/11 was in October, there were probably a dozen who answered correctly. They also target people who look like they aren't going to answer properly.

The little square between all the government buildings would typically be filled with (usually poorly educated and informed) homeless people and (usually well educated and informed) state workers. It was a popular spot for "Albanians are retarded!" videos on the local news. And they'd only target the people that looked like they were probably homeless. People wearing suits were invisible.

Portugal is going to defualt as well... Iceland has already Defualted and Ireland, Spain and Italy are close behind. Debt in the 3rd world is even WORSE than it is in the West... everyone is screwed.

If you asked us what nation is being bailed out by the EU, we would know Greece. We would also know that Italy, Portugal, Ireland are also poor. So there are EU issues that are more important than the President of the Council, which again--changes every six months.

I know plenty of comp sci wizards that don't know geography. So they are smart, they are educated, but they are not knowledgeable. Some people try too hard to "sound smart". Others simply ARE smart.

@Statimtek Germany is a cool country, but in fairness, they are surrounded by nations that speak different languages. We are near Canada, so there's not as much need to learn different languages although it's cool that Germans do. My one friend from Germany could speak 5 languages fluently. Very impressive.
