I think his hand hitting the teen was an accident. I mascot and it's extremely hard to see. Don't believe me? Take your hands and circle them around your eyes like binoculers (it's late I can't spell sorry) them circle them even tighter. You can't see up, down, left, or right unless you move your head all the way in that direction. I don't think he knew where the teens head was.

It does look like the boy tried to unzip Tigger's costume. You can see the boy's right arm swing back as if to keep his balance because he was pulling Tigger with his other arm. Then you see Tigger pull away from the boy while at the same time turning to face him. When Tigger does this you can see the boy lurch forward towards Tigger, probably because the boy was still holding onto Tigger. Then I can't tell if Tigger swings to hit the boy or just tries to grab him in order to keep his balance.

Having said that, it appears it may have been a reactionary move vs an intentional punch, as it looks like the kid may have pulled Tigger backwards a bit causing him to swing around to catch his balance. In the process Tigger struck the kid in the face by accident. But I see nothing that would lead me to believe Tigger did this on purpose. The people playing the characters have a hard time seeing their surroundings. If you ever wore a costume you would know that. If the kid was tugging on Tigger, he could have easily fallen back on the guard rail. So Tigger reacted very quickly. Parents should watch their brats and respect these people. I have worked at disney as a character performer and alot of times our zippers are not pushed into the siding where the fabric can hide it and people will try to pull the zipper down a little to see who is inside. Fortunately the costumes i was in were full suits with zippers that were hidden under another layer of clothing but we were trained to keep our cool and to stay in character when on stage and let security deal with incidents
I get it. Its tiggers job to keep his cool, but ALSO his job to make sure his costume stays on, so kids dont see its fake. If he was pulling on the zipper its human reacton to push someone off. Sadly, the moment you put on a costume of any kind and go out into the public, people assume that part of the entertainment you're there to provide is to be a punching bag. I used to be a 'gunfighter' at a western theme park and you'd be amazed at how many times I'd heard the phrase "Grab his gun!" from parents to their children when posing with me for a photo. @mudmarox it IS really tough actually. i am a character at a six flags park and i've been beaten, tail-yanked, picked up by drunk people, harassed by little kids and college kids, and the list can go on. its not easy ._. i HATE guests like that! characters NEED more respect!

I have worked at disney as a character performer and alot of times our zippers are not pushed into the siding where the fabric can hide it and people will try to pull the zipper down a little to see who is inside. Fortunately the costumes i was in were full suits with zippers that were hidden under another layer of clothing but we were trained to keep our cool and to stay in character when on stage and let security deal with incidents

I get it. Its tiggers job to keep his cool, but ALSO his job to make sure his costume stays on, so kids dont see its fake. If he was pulling on the zipper its human reacton to push someone off. You can clearly see that kid pulling on the costume. Poor tigger... i hope he didnt lose his job over this!

Sadly, the moment you put on a costume of any kind and go out into the public, people assume that part of the entertainment you're there to provide is to be a punching bag. I used to be a 'gunfighter' at a western theme park and you'd be amazed at how many times I'd heard the phrase "Grab his gun!" from parents to their children when posing with me for a photo. Darwin awardees in the making.
I feel for ya, Tigg... But unfortunately, we all need to keep our cool out there.

These dummies were scam artists. I've done a lot of costume work, from a major childrens pizza chain to pro hockey mascots.
a) That was not an "assault". In a costume like that, if Tigger meant to do damage, it's not hard.
b) The artist was obviously being toyed with by a stupid dad who's raising a dick of a son.
Oh well, cheaper to settle then to fight it out. Additionally, that particular artists was involved in other incidents...

Yes, it seems like the kid was screwing with the back of Tigger's costume. I don't think Tigger even really intended to hit the kid, just reacting and turning and the kid's face happened to be in the way of their hand.
