Dude.. wow, that was one of the most heartfelt videos I've ever watched on YT ever.. I mean ever.
You hit so many nails with that hammer that day.
The bottom line is this; we all need to make a living- the best way to make a living is doing the thing that you're best at. The whole system is rigged and corrupted but if, with your newly found insights and your previously learned and perfected skills, you can beat the system more times than you lose then YOU are beating the system.
dude imt rying to get to where your at lol...money a family a good life everything..then to think whats next? who cares get what you want next. you sound like a midlife crisis. guess it doesnt matter how rich you are youll have one!
If you don't have something purposeful to do with your life beyond trading and investing once you make the money - then it is all hollow and meaningless.
Get in, make the money. Not to make the money. To go do other things.
Dude, Krull, you're getting into an entire inflation economic thing we don't know yet. It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter if the Dollar Index goes to 40, there's stuff to trade.
It doesn't matter if the carry trade comes to an end, and the Dollar in that case goes to 110, there's stuff to trade.
You have to disconnect from the markets for the markets sake. The markets have to be about making money so you can do what you REALLY want to do, and have the freedom at the same time.
Be a vulcan.
Traders only need movement. That's all. Profit from money flow.
It's interesting to watch however, as I knew this mindset was coming to the entire planet for years now. Just interesting to watch it happen.
They've taught us for 100 + years that we're nothing more than animals. Just animals.
So why do we FEEL empty? Why is there a search for something more meaningful than being a squirrel or a chipmunk - having kids, and then dying with a big nest?
you are simply returning to the "real world"... we still need the traders in the trenches... but you are correct in terms of it not mattering how much $ you make in the market when the dollar is dipping further and further therefore losing purchasing power... i'm waiting for a gold pull-back to get in but maybe there won't be one... metals (gold in particular) seem to be the hot ticket for the long run... sweet gold bullion and coins... make and preserve your wealth... that is all there is
Chill out guy, you're bugging out. It's okay in life to "not know" what to do or what's next. You'll figure it out...why? B/c you always do. Take time off for the Holidays, buy a Mac computer and come back in '10 refreshed and healthy. The markets not going to 20k, I dunno why you're thinking that...I agree w/ everything you said besides the Obama crap. Why trade? So you can beat the S&P, not match it...that's why we trade. The dollar's not going to be worthless, the world/China can't afford it.
By the way, what do you want obama to do? watch the dow go to 1500 and financial system completely collapse, its always easy when you don't get to see the other side(thank God).
and don't worry, at some point helicopter ben will do something about the dollar.
okay OPRAAH!!!!!! Go find a fire place, get a cup of coffee and relax alittle. AS for leaving the stock market, buddy, am sorry this is like the mob, you are gonna be 80 and still be looking at stock prices that are moving. its who you are.
so let me take sometime off and go look at some booty videos and hope you would have recovered by the time am back..
FEAR AND LOATHING...I know that sensation as your mind recoled in horror. Bath tub scene stylee. Relax Krull, give it a few dayz and you'll be back to yourself. Mr Positive, Mr Trader easy
Way to keep it real man! Stay positive, the second you give in this market is going to shit the bed. All you can do is wait and prepare for that, sit on the sidelines and enjoy the show. You will know when it's time. $ down market down gold up oil up is when it is time...
Over 60% of bankruptcies last year was related to medical costs, & 80% of them were people who had health insurance and held jobs. The fact is that the insurance cartel is out to make as much money as possible, and that's only done by finding ways to not pay for our medical care when its needed. The insurance you think you have today is just an illusion, because depending on the type of treatment you may need tomorrow to save your life can legally be denied by your carrier for almost any reason.
Every American "deserves" health care! It's considered a basic human right in all civilized nations. Only greedy, barbaric USA considers it a for-profit commodity. So 45,000 people die each year because they can't afford insurance or the insurance they had turned out to have failed them in coverage. The people suffering from this legalized sham & national disgrace called a health care system just may include you/me tomorrow. This is what the Dems are trying to fix, against a sea of stupidity.
Just examine who the authors are (do they have an agenda?) and look at their methods.
This is what they included as being "medical Bankruptcies":
Gambling Debt
Drug/alcohol problems
Birth/death in family
$1000 in medical expenses in 2 years prior to declaration of bankruptcy. ( So you could have $100,000 in credit card debt, but if you had $1000 medical bills in a 2 year span, it's a medical bankruptcy?)
You're the typical right wingNUT nitwit who always reverts to logical fallacies by throwing around words like liberty, freedom, god and the flag to support the nonsense of ideological dogma you spew.
I love how you include "having children" with gambling debt and substance abuses. How dare these irresponsible people have children!
"Of those who filed for bankruptcy in 2007, nearly 80 percent had health insurance. Respondents who reported having insurance indicated average expenses of just under $18,000. Respondents who filed and lacked insurance had average medical bills of nearly $27,000."
Link to the study in "The American Journal of Medicine":
"METHODS: ...We designated bankruptcies as medical based on debtors stated
reasons for filing, income loss due to illness, and the magnitude of their medical debts.
RESULTS: Using a conservative definition, 62.1% of all bankruptcies in 2007 were medical; 92% of these medical debtors had medical debts over $5000, or 10% of pretax family income. The rest met criteria for
medical bankruptcy because they had lost significant income due to illness or mortgaged a home to pay medical
Most medical debtors were well educated, owned homes, and had middle-class occupations. Three quarters had health insurance. Using identical definitions in 2001 and 2007, the share of bankruptcies attributable to medical problems rose by 49.6%. In logistic regression analysis controlling for demographic factors, the odds that a bankruptcy had a medical cause was 2.38-fold higher in 2007 than in 2001."
Do you know how many families went into bankruptcy and possibly lost their homes due to medical costs in UK, Germany, Canada, and France combined? The answer is ZERO! That's because their cultures are civilized and realize that what's best for any one citizen is best for all. So this is the kind of nation you're so proud to live in? A corporatocracy that enslaves all but the most wealthy and keeps them stupid so they don't even realize it. They resist that which is in their own best interest.
Surely, you must be so wealthy that as long as you know you can buy the best medical care, then you say screw the millions of other Americans who might easliy loose everything they have (even their lives) just because they got sick. Well, screw you buddy!
Your ideological dogma precludes you from even acknowledging the "real-world consequences" of the status quo in this health care scam. You're blinded by your own ignorance and stupidity. The exclamation point has a purpose in the written english sentence, and I used it accordingly. However, ridiculous comebacks as yours only demonstrate the desperation of your baseless and anti-human position.
The reason you don't have "medical bankruptcies" in these countries is simply because medical costs are rolled into their general tax obligations. You're playing a game of semantics.
What do you think these "civilized" countries do to you if you refuse to pay your share of the "health care tax"? Are you trying to say that these "civilized" countries don't punish people who don't pay their taxes? Do people go into bankruptcy in these nations secondary to tax liabilities?
And you're playing games. Nobody in these countries go bankrupt from medical costs because everyone is guaranteed free health care, and are treated as prescribed by their doctors with no interference by for-profit companies to approve treatment.
While they pay more in taxes that includes funding for universal health care, when combined, we pay FAR MORE in taxes + ever-increasing insurance costs for coverage that we discover isn't really there when we need it most!
As I said, if you define "Medical bankruptcy" to include anyone who self reports that a health issue contributed to their bankruptcy AND also include gambling, drug/alcohol abuse, births and deaths, of course you are going to get large numbers.
How do you define "significant"? How do you define "illness"?
I would guess the average person would not consider gambling debts an "illness".
Keep pulling these lies and excuses out your ass. Keep reading the corporate supported wingnut propaganda, and don't bother reading the studies and actual statistics. Remain ignorant, you are not alone.
No one in any of the other industrialized nations on earth, all of which have a form of universal health care, are forced into bankruptcy even partly because they had a child. That is a purely American nightmare. Complete financial ruin through serious illness, or even childbirth, seems to be just one more of those "freedoms" you're so proud and eager to tout.
Dude.. wow, that was one of the most heartfelt videos I've ever watched on YT ever.. I mean ever.

The studies have been thoroughly discredited.
hrosemd 2 years ago
Nonsense.
There has been no such "discrediting".
Provide your source.
What is YOUR agenda?
JesusSavesAtCitibank 2 years ago
So you agree that gambling debt, drug and alcohol abuse, and having children should be classified as instances of "medical bankruptcy"?
My source is the study itself.
Try actually reading it instead of relying on NYT headlines or what you heard about it on DailyKos.
Google "Medical Bankruptcy Myths" or something like that and you'll find everything you need.
But really, why bother. You've got your mind made up right?
My agenda is that I value liberty and abhor slavery. See, easy.

I didn't include "having children" with the other criteria.
THE STUDY DOES.
It is included in their definition of what exactly a "MEDICAL BANKRUPTCY" is.
If someone self reported to them that they went bankrupt because they had a child, it was counted as a medical bankruptcy.
I would think the average person would disagree with that assumption. Having a child is not an "illness".
