@popiedo His poor conduct saved the lives of his fellow troops. He knew what he was doing violated our military code of conduct (I have some knowledge of these codes. If we had these codes in WWII-we would have lost. A dear friend of mine is a major in the Army. She is putting in her 20th year. She has explained some of the ROE-Rules of engagement. If our young men and woman would know these ROE upfront. They would never sign their name on the dotted line. The code of conduct is pathetic).

I'm a libertarian more than a conservative. But libertarianism is far far far closer to conservatism than liberalism. @popiedo His poor conduct saved the lives of his fellow troops. He knew what he was doing violated our military code of conduct (I have some knowledge of these codes. If we had these codes in WWII-we would have lost. A dear friend of mine is a major in the Army. She is putting in her 20th year. She has explained some of the ROE-Rules of engagement. If our young men and woman would know these ROE upfront. They would never sign their name on the dotted line. The code of conduct is pathetic).

@popiedo Heads up. My Major friend had divulged to me that jsut about all of the troops under her feel sold out. many Generals have retired early. Army is trying to bring others from Retirement. This is the result of the leadership from the top and the insane rules of conduct our troops have to endure.Our military has become too heavily politicizedl. Too PC. I say get rid of the sensitivity training to those that are supposedly trained to kill the enemy and defend this nation.

I believe our country's "leaders" have done quite a job at directing the public's attention and fear towards the great mystical evil known as terrorism. Make it a top fear factor in America and the constitution is their playground. Then we can watch our rights drop one-by-one in the name of fighting terrorism. I think Mr. West is OK.
He is frustrated, what happen to him in the Army.
