Seems to me that if you want to say "Grunge", look to the Northwestern bands from the US in the late 80's early 90's...Mudhoney, Green River, Screaming Trees, Melvins, Mother Love Bone, etc. in addition to some of your selection. Look at what came out on Sub Pop records at that time. What you have here is a non-definitive collection of favourite alternative music.

people seemed to forget that nirvana was not the biggest grunge band. they benefited from cobain's suicide massively. Most if not all of the other bands on this list were bigger than nirvana by the time conbain killed himself; Pearl Jam was a lot bigger than Nirvana. In Utero (i love that album!) was a flop, across the board, people hated it; and this was after their bigger flop "insecticide" I remember people calling Unplugged "a comeback album"! .history has a funny way of getting obfuscated

STP had their first two albums grunge, went back to that the 4th. Bush's first album was, and Pearl Jam's first three were.
