I don't understand something. I watch these so I hopefully don't make the same mistake one day. Did he not flare w/rear risers? I've played w/that @altitude. The flare doesn't seem as strong, but workable. I hope it went as well as it could for him (surgeries/recovery).

I know Deane and Lisa. I went jumping with them in Empuria with Mr. Young about 4 years ago. They nearly missed their flight home because Lisa wanted to get her FS1. I ended up rushing them to the airport in traffic and a thunderstorm ! John

no chance - it just had a reserve repack, so probably a prob with the rigging (might have picked it up on next main pack, but not on check before jump

i wouldnt have cutaway either. canopy can still fly and land on rears. you probably gave too much rear input, broke the canopy's back and stalled it. glad your ok though

personally i think the reserve would have been the safest(if he had enough altitude) i mean it is a reserve. those bitches are made to open. If he wasnt comfortable on hrears or has had no experience he may have been better off choppin? i dono.
