Like your plane...so basically you start a plane with the propeller like it's a pull start on a nitro car:)what country do you live in.you have alot of r/c vehicles...I wish I had that many.I only have 12 r/c nitro electric cars:p...which one do you prefer gas or electric?:)
Ahhh it looks so cool. I am getting a sundowner 36 and i do not know if I should go electri or gas? Which is better? It would be my first gas plane, and please no not say i am not experienced enough i am a kid but i can easily fly a umx sbach and others lol.
@alishanmao I agree with the dude saying you're voice was annoying but not really annoying, it just sounds different. But still nice comeback there. :D oh and very awesome vids and plane you got there..
What do you think of ASP 120 and 108? My friends wont let me buy one , because they use more expensive engines, i am poor and can not afford thanks Ali
@dsldrvr69 I have use ASP engines for 5 years and found them to be awesome for their price. My Edge540 Redbull has ASP.61 a 5 years old Engine and you can see its still kicking ass. My Old Spitfire, Cessna and my recent sadler vampire, All have ASP engines. Buy them without worries. they are great engines.
today, I start my OS 46 Ax first since over 1 1/2 years. I made it on the same way you say it. The Engine started, when i first tried it!! i can't believe that it is so easy!! But i work with a E-Starter
I hope you understand what i mean, because my English isn't very good
@ndc6854 install a battery volt meter. it has like 8 or few green LEDs. you can install it outside of plane body even so when you have a slow pass by you can see. also in market there are alarms that will go off once battery is dying and you can hear them during flight.
hey nice video but im a bit confused sorry i might sound stupid but im looking into getting a nitro plane and its a hobbico nexstar 46. when you pump the fuel then you spin the prop to the left? to prime it then hold the carb and spin it more then let it go and spin more all to your left? then when your ready to start you spin it to your right?? which eay do you spin it to start...thanks
@x7Chaosbullet I understand your question. after doing this, you can insert the glow ignitor and flip the prop in same direction as for priming. Or you can hit the prop in totally opposite direction (Not flip) hit it. thats called back flip starting. when doing back flip starting, hit the prop, not flip it or engine will start backward.
@alishanmao ok...so im just gonna wacth this video a couple times and do exactly the same lol...yeah do you think the hobbico nexstar 46 is a good first nitro airplane? and a first airplane?? because i read aboutit and iit said it has a training system in it...so when you get confused with turning of going down you let go of the controls and it corrects itself...because i bouaght a plane from nitro planes and i crashed it was a dynam censsa i think for $99 ...so yeah thanks for your time
@x7Chaosbullet hmm that training system is called Stabilization system. it uses 3 axis gyro in it, very sensitive and that is a great system. I just got one for my UAV experimentation, and its awesome. You leave controls no matter if plane is rolling or falling and plane will recover quick to stable flight. Nexstar is a great first plane and great for training. you made a good choice.
@x7Chaosbullet yes at only $299 but it is out of stock on horizon hobby so i used a website called hobby-sports i think and it comes with a dx5e which opens you to all of the bind in fly options its really a great deal just type in hobby-sports . com hope i helped you can ask me anymore questions if you need to. click on store and then type in alpha 40 dsm2 rtf
It's not that dangerous (starting it) if you move your finger straight away quickly. You'll learn pretty quick especially after you've been rapped across the knuckles four times in a row. :)
@Mastermotor1 So you tried breaking physics 101 and it took you 4 times to figure out how fast you need to be to clear a prop...Not to bright my friend.
Now, can you set that thing on fire and launch it as high as you can? Your video would recieve more hits than from any mobhits EVER!!! We thank you for you great YouTube contribution to life.
@haljohn2814 its just my style to prime it and start it. basically i did it cuz I did not start this engine for almost a month. So I had to prime it right.
@haljohn2814 No my man, Shame on you who doesn't think much before posting comments. Why should I do a range check on a 2 years old Plane that i have flown a countless times almost 3 times a week?
ohh cheers for the comment one more question then i can leave you alone. in my manual i can use a 2stroke or a 4 stroke on my plane what engines are the most relyable and in your opinion the best ?
@3halljo I use Lipo battery 11.1v 1500mAh Battery pack, But I connect a UBEC that gives 5A max out put to my receiver that is enough to power servos and everything. this way I get many flights on single charge
i dont see my comment eithere it not up yet or it bc my computer acting up what plane u say for a first flight nitro cheap simple balsa like and non taildrager
hello ali, quick question, im new to nitro planes and have a irvine .53 engine in my plane everything is fine flys great however when i start it it starts backwards like 4 out of 10 times. it doesnt bother me as i have found if i throttle back so it nearly cuts out it changes the right way and thats that. basically i just want to know is this ok and is this going to harm my engine or anything. btw i use a chicken stick to start :)
Idiots are blocked. people like you who support me are always welcome and standing by my side to block those idiots too :) Cheers and thanks for supporting me my man.
the way i started engine is called back flip method. Actually when you hit the prop to other side, it bring a sudden pinch and pressure to properly primed engine and fuel just burst into flames due to that back flip force easily if the glow igniter and glow plug are ok.
Yes he did. But the compression will bump the prop back in the correct direction to with more speed and often start the engine. This often does not work well on the first engine startup of the day. It also works better on larger engines. Some engines are temperamental and this will never work on. I do this by using the spinner and just grabbing it and I don't hit the prop. Works great on my Tower Hobbies .75 and O.S. 1.60 but never on the first startup of the day.
Futaba makes the transmitters for realflight. In fact you can use a real Futaba transmitter with the realflight simulator with the adaptor that comes with the realflight simulator.
Is the starter motor required to start the engine, because I dont have one and I'm trying to start my engine. Because I turn my crankshaft but it wont start. Is it impossible to start a nitro airplane engine without the starter?
Will turning the engine crankshaft manually with hand work, or does it need to get to a certain RPM?
You can start Airplane Nitro Engine very easily without starter motor. But if you are beginner, I recommend you get one starter motor. I can start the engine very easily with backflip method. Check my other nitro airplane videos and see how i start engines with back flip method.
Could someone help me please. I am looking for a new hobby, either rc cars or rc planes. I know that rc planes would be a bit harder than cars, but i am interested in both. I really wanna fly planes but will it be too time consuming. Can someone please help me decide?
I always get hit with the perpeller when trying to take off the glow plug starter thing, Any sugestions like can i make one where i just pull off with string or somethng
just try to get used to be very careful. Stay behind the prop, maybe plane fuselage between your feet, and carefully remove the glow plug. I was once hit by my Spitfire MKII prop, my knuckles were shaved cleaned LOL
Darn. I don't see the redbull edition on there. I really love the look on the edge 540 do you remeber how much you paid? And is it a pain to fly? Like super touchy? Like a ducted fan?
I paid 125 USD for ARF version. plus i had t buy engine, servos, radios etc. its so easy to fly and behaves so awesome, total in control in the sky. flies fast, flies slow, does a bit of 3D and all :) I love it
Its Edge540 Redbull Scheme. I got it from a friend who designed it and was working for a RC Plane manufacturing company in a local city. Factory was closed down and later moved away. so plane was stopped for production. Its not producing any more due to problems with RedBull who was not happy for their color scheme on rc plane without permission lol
Hey i just got a Nitro plane but it seems the its very hard to turn the prop it has not been run in about two years i cant even use the electric starter because the prop is very hard to turn. any ideas?
you need to give engine a good cleaning. Take it heat sink off, take the piston sleeve out and give it a good nice cleaning. even use sand paper :D clean the piston and put everything back together. it should work. Yes don't forget to take everything apart on the carb, clean and put it back together :)
Thanks for such a fast reply i flew it for the first time with out any problems. I guess me being a real pilot helped out alot. One more question though can you reuse glow plugs? if so what do you need to do and how long does it take?
Wow nice you are real pilot. I can just dream of that. Tried to get PPL manytimes but everytime not enough money :( well don't use glow plugs. Once bad, get new ones
Nice vid, but i when i see RC planes i cant see any Air Filter. Do the planes use it or it is just me tath i cant see it ? Becouse you have to protect the carb, right?
RC Planes do not need air filters as there is not dirt in the air hehehe just like LikeAVideo said, air is clean up there. unless you are flying in sand storms you will not need air filter.
Nice, thats just how my brother use to do it when i was a kid lol, that has to be one of my favs out of your r/c planes because it looks so damn good :-) 5*
Like your plane...so basically you start a plane with the propeller like it's a pull start on a nitro car:)what country do you live in.you have alot of r/c vehicles...I wish I had that many.I only have 12 r/c nitro electric cars:p...which one do you prefer gas or electric?:)

2-stroke engines can spin both ways.
The propeller goes to the right (in the planes point of view, which is anticlockwise in this video)
to move forward.
But you hit the right side (in this video) so wouldn't the plane go backwards?

Understood.

why dont u fill it all the way up
firstrambo3000 2 years ago
Usally because of the added weight. And it can also change the CG. He might have another reason though

Well now that i look at it closely it looks more like an edge 540 even if it is i would still like to know where you got it. Its beautiful!
atvmaster281 2 years ago
Yea it is an Edge 540 its the rebull edition it used to be on great planes im not sure if its still there or not
Simsplayer2502 2 years ago
Darn. I don't see the redbull edition on there. I really love the look on the edge 540 do you remeber how much you paid? And is it a pain to fly? Like super touchy? Like a ducted fan?
atvmaster281 2 years ago
I paid 125 USD for ARF version. plus i had t buy engine, servos, radios etc. its so easy to fly and behaves so awesome, total in control in the sky. flies fast, flies slow, does a bit of 3D and all :) I love it

The company I bought it from stopped producing it due to problems with Redbull who were not happy for their color scheme on this plane lol.
alishanmao 2 years ago
Its Edge540 Redbull Scheme. I got it from a friend who designed it and was working for a RC Plane manufacturing company in a local city. Factory was closed down and later moved away. so plane was stopped for production. Its not producing any more due to problems with RedBull who was not happy for their color scheme on rc plane without permission lol

Hey i just got a Nitro plane but it seems the its very hard to turn the prop it has not been run in about two years i cant even use the electric starter because the prop is very hard to turn. any ideas?
atvmaster281 2 years ago
you need to give engine a good cleaning.

One more question though can you reuse glow plugs? if so what do you need to do and how long does it take?
atvmaster281 2 years ago
Wow nice you are real pilot. I can just dream of that. Tried to get PPL manytimes but everytime not enough money :( well don't use glow plugs. Once bad, get new ones

Nice vid, but i when i see RC planes i cant see any Air Filter. Do the planes use it or it is just me tath i cant see it ? Becouse you have to protect the carb, right?
ravn111 2 years ago
No the air is clean up there
LikeAVideo 2 years ago
RC Planes do not need air filters as there is not dirt in the air hehehe just like LikeAVideo said, air is clean up there. unless you are flying in sand storms you will not need air filter.
