I hate how the change Cecil's dialogue everytime they make a remake. Remember in the original SNES FF4, Cecil tells Zeromus; "For all things in this world I will destroy you!" then in the gameboy remake he just says a lame "I cannot lose... I cannot lose..I just cannot lose to you Zeromus!"...now he just says "This is not the end of me it's the end of you, Zeromus"........ I liked the original SNES dialogue better.

Agreed, he also called Golbez "brother" on the SNES, then GBA changed it. I'm glad they restored that line for the DS

Only the original JP dialog can clear that up. From what I can see, the translation of this game is VERY SLOPPY.

I had a user at the Final Fantasy Wikia translate what Cecil says in the Japanese version. Cecil's text box shows "に...兄さん...!" - this translates to "big brother". So "brother" would be the more accurate translation.

Is that for all versions SNES, PSX, GBA and NDS? If so then MAN..Sqeenix has lost it! I've noticed myself with the JP audio and the EN text that they don't always batch up. :| And people say they do a good job......

In the GBA he calls him brother at the very end. That's the breaking point where Cecil accepts Golbez as his brother.
