I'm not sure, but maybe some people (that are vietnamese but raised outside vietnam and therefore don't master their vietnamese language well) don't like this song because they can understand half of it.

I mean, you KNOW it's vietnamese and you can recognize it but... It feels kind of weird and perhaps that's why some of us don't like it?

i think all music can be admired and covered, but yes, too many korean stuff rubs off on vietnamese youth. i don't think that there needs to be better vietnamese composers (as someone said in earlier comments) because there are many vietnamese songs with great lyrics and composition. we just need to update to a more modern sound that don't ruin enunciation (ex. cut off that electric guitar that play in the middle of every vietnamese song and the electric piano. it makes it sounds late 80s.)

to add on: late 80s is totally awesome. however, its just not appealing to young vietnamese listeners who love the modern pop/hip-hop beats of korean music. its sad that its because of this that they rather listen to music they can't understand rather than appreciate beautiful lyrics written by infamous vietnamese lyricists & composers. basically, we need to update the sound of vpop without the use of mediocre lyrics and horrible singers. there's plenty of great viet singers to choose from!

As I could remember, there are several Vietnamese songs recovered by Japanese artists (Trịnh Công Sơn's songs). I like both version, korean version is really smooth and soft, vietnamese version is really meaningful (cuz i understand it) :)
