I love the original song, but your cover is fun, with the words in this context in some ways harking back to less overtly commercial Metal of earlier years.
Embrace the diversity of our culture people. There's room for Folk, Metal, and Afro-Celts on this little island.
It's a song about traditional English music metal doesn't exactly fit the bill I'm afraid. Although saying that you seem to have grasped the idea of making a folk song you're own so its not all bad.
sorry i think your wrong, the song is about the mainstream, corporate way of life n music. traditional english has nothing 2 do with it, it covers many ideals from many genre's, that all think the same about "the way it is"!
hehe (seem to have grasped folk) i might b a metaler at hart!but over the last 16y guitar playing ive learned many styles, n eras, ive made metal tunes in 2 jazz and so on. I love all music its like modern art, there is no wrong only the right crowd. thanks for ur thoughts
crap is abit harsh isnt it! I dont think im slash! but it cant be that bad. It is just me on a laptop and it was one of my early recordings. But hay, i thought the point behind folk is that you dont know if the tune your listening too is 1 year old or 100! everyone just puts there own twist on things! I Love the original! it will never compare! but i heared a different version in it as well.
Didn't like it at all, not to say someone else might. I thought the faux-American accent was insulting to the content of the song, and I've never really seen this song as needing a metal version. If you can knock out some hardcore or punk, it might be more true to the song. I'd love to have got Million Dead to cover this.
didn't really like at first but it grew on me. images are inspired!

The song is a classic and is about the decline of English culture and heritage in the face of imported cultures, plain and simple.
Love the original.
