  • I feel sorry for anyone who grew up on movies after 1995. They do NOT know quality cinema when it's staring them right in the face. Dustin Hoffman, Gene Hackman, Al Pacino, Robert DeNiro are PURE GEMS of their time. I am a fan of Edward Norton at times, (but NOT a fan of Johnny Depp), but the material that these younger "actors" have to work with doesn't lend itself to any thespian articulation. Hoffman and Hackman could state the subtle nuances of a script and make it shine.

  • @mindphreak4money I hear you jonny depp plays the same thing-the effeminate hero. not a big fan. wish some real men (hackman) would come out of retirement before we get beiber in the movies!

  • @mattym282000 Thank you for your assesment regarding my critique. Oh, and you know that the entertainment world is prepping Justin Beiber for his own movie, sooner rather than later. They want those teen dollars. Just like they got from Justin Timberlake. :)

  • Anyone else reminded of Tootsie from 0:35 to 0:42 ?

  • Honestly I prefer movies of the 70's, 80's and 90's but Runaway Jury is pure masterpiece. No question! Interesting & intriguing storyline, suspense and brilliant ending. Dustin Hoffman is real master of acting. Gene Hackman was great too. I adore Rachel Weisz and John Cusack. They were fantastic and looked great. Very beautiful screen couple. They should make more films together.

    Brilliant Film!!!

  • this scene kicks ass

  • Forget the blandness of the new so-called acting stars like Matt Damon, Brad Pitt, the very overrated Johnny Depp etc..THIS is what you call Acting, folks...Two masters, who were just way too good for such an ordinary movie..just to see these 2 legends go at it was worth the price of the dvd for me.

  • @machiaveliyoohoo I have to disagree with you, in part. Hoffman and Hackman are masters, no doubt. But I think it's just nostalgic to say today's actors lack equal power. Norton and Pitt have both proved themselves in many films and I defy anyone to come up with two replacements who could carry off Fight Club as well as they did. And don't confuse Depp's attraction for odd characters for lack of skill. The Libertine shows the talent he has.

  • @machiaveliyoohoo johnny depp is not overated, you obviously havent watched ANY of the Pirates of the Caribean movies, or just hate him out of acting.

  • yeah the book kicks ass.....they changed the issue from cigarettes to guns.

  • loveee that these two are finally in a scene together, especially since they used to be roommates as broke actors

  • one of my all time favorite scenes in a movie. Though you left at some of the best part at the end with hackmans response to hoffmans morality.

  • How would you like to be selected as a juror in a murder trial?

  • yea it was a lil over the top, but they're fantastic

  • two great actors, overacting.

  • I liked Rankin Fitch in the book.Did not see the movie yet!

  • I thought Fitch is supposed to be fat.

I thought the movie was supposed to be about the tobacco companies.

I thought that this is supposed to be a more fun movie.

The movie completely ruins that whole book :(

  • this is like al pacino and robert de niro's heat but a bit low key. i'm talking about the movie. dustin hoffman and gene hackman are on the same category as al pacino and robert de niro. All four are acting gods!

  • @chenism I think everyone drew the parallel but it falls short 1st it's much shorter . 2nd there isn't any bonding . in heat they acknowledge each other and feel how close they are even though they're going to smash into each other 3rd gene hackman is pounding hoffman . Hoffman looks like a gal trying to gather her dignity after getting dry humped . In heat they enter and leave as equal . Legendary actors but mediocre writing .

  • Coloured bubbles.

  • I seen this movie last month...this part was definitely edited to parts...And why'd they cut the best line ' Ow suede shoes?'

  • Wait - I thought that Mr. Woods died of Lung Cancer? I was reading the book and I have to test on it tomorrow. It's boring as hell and I was hoping the movie would be more exciting. The bind says "thriller" but it's not. I'm all the way through 200 and I'm still bored with it.

  • Where's the rest? I like the line Hackman gives saying "all you're doing is making sure she drives to the grave site in a better car".

  • Wonderful movie, wonderful acting, wonderful story.

  • Great film!!! Loved it!

  • Fucking Fantastic Movie
