Study finds Paul Krugman is the most partisan economist. Krugman was the only economist to "significantly" change his stances for partisan reasons. Krugman has even gone so far as to contradict his own findings to bash Republican politicians. - Brett Barkley, Econ Journal Watch, May 2010
Paul doesn't understand what causes recessions so it's not surprising that he's drawing the wrong conclusions. He also advised Greenspan to drop interest rates to help with this crisis and his policy is what caused the real estate bubble. He's a crap economist.

no 2001 ok think about this where do you think we would be in 2050 im sure its not as great as what they thought 40 years ago. we are more pessimistic
You should watch some of Arthur Clarke's interviews and talks. I think he genuinely believed that 2001 made legitimate speculations. But that's beside my point. I was simply responding to what Krugman says in this video. He claims that the world that was postulated in "2001: A Space Odyssey" didn't happen due to bad economic progress. I say it didn't happen because it was an unrealistic prediction (whether it was meant to be a prediction or not). For the record though, I do quite like Krugman.
most of the tech did. Think about all the tech that is suppressed in the world. We'd have more cash as well with a gold standard. The early 70s saw the downfall of the US economy

Keynesian economics doesn't work, like communism doesn't work
Look up guys like Peter Schiff and Jim Rogers and see how simple this mess is to solve

2001 is where our problems began, the housing bubble was in its infancy.
Krugman's solution to a recession: stimulus after stimulus until the fiat paper goes back to nothing. What a genius
If anyone wants to see the right way of getting out of this mess look up peter schiff and jim rogers

Baby-sitting coupons. It has ONE good and ONE form of labor. It's a false analogy to a real economy.

Maybe 2001: A Space Odyssey didn't happen because it was a bad prediction.
