  • Anyone wanna tell me wtf this song mean

  • @Comiester no

  • You simply HAVE to love this guy! He amazes me more every time I see him! What a phenomenal talent!

  • I love him. Beautiful music and creatively amazing.

  • in addition to the rest of it, he's an awesome whistler :)

  • wow .. I want to marry u!

  • TENUOUSNESS

    i think....

  • Its a Gibson ES-125tcd.

  • whoaa cool stuffs.

hey anyone know the guitar he's using?

  • @DaeganSat Rickenbacker maybe? Not sure.

  • @DaeganSat It look's either like an Ibanez, Guild, or even a Les Paul/ Epiphone ES 150. Doesn't say the brand name on the head. So, it's either a rip off of one of those. Not to sure though, sorry!

  • @DaeganSat In another video, he uses the same guitar. It's looks like a Gibson ES-137. But with some custom parts on it. But you get the point, haha.

  • @Calvakins It's beautiful. thanks I was just wondering that myself

  • if you think his loops are sick, check out eluvium live.

  • 3 people need a calculated blow to the head

  • how can you DISLIKE this!?

  • He seems like such a sweetheart.

  • Apparently the 3 people who disliked this are deaf.

  • I just got chills...

  • I'm in love!

  • i think i've just fall in love.

  • He's a freakin genius!

  • He would make a great #12, if only he were British.

  • @qtzombie I kind of want there to be a movie made about him, but only if David Tennant plays Andrew.

  • @pooponmyfacefetish HA! david tennant as him is brilliant! there isa video of him playing pingpong if youre a total dork about the master AB...

  • @qtzombie what does that mean?

  • when that violin started, i frikken cried

  • @sphinxart When I saw him in Burlington last year I did cry. Pretty much the whole time. And then I met him :')

  • @pooponmyfacefetish That must have been an honor!

  • the song is about all of us adults being harmless sociopaths...how we've learned to bury our emotions as we've grown older. Bird has talked about how the song came to inspiration while on a plane seeing an infant crying, and how he envied the baby's ability to just openly express his fear of containment within a plane..hence, "so let's get out of here, past the atmosphere, we no one ever dies..." Pretty amazing.

  • only a true genius can take his shoes off

  • he plays it so beautifully.

  • aaaaah he's so awesome. i love him

  • arm in arm we are the homeless sociopaths....

  • i think he says harmless, but homeless is much funnier ^___^

  • Comment removed

  • 1. All lyrics i have found say harmless

    2. The word harmless is where the irony lies

    So yea.

  • @diddlybop man until now I could swear it was homeless, but I think you're right.

  • @rosesarefree2009 I also used to think he said Casio minds

  • @diddlybop the song is about all of us adults being harmless sociopaths...how we've learned to bury our emotions as we've grown older. • @mathfife i was just on a plane yesterday, and i certainly wasnt inspired by the babies crying!

shows how much more appreciation Mr. Bird has for the little things in life.

but the song makes a lotta sense now, thanks : )

  • @diddlybop Haha. Nice.

  • great track superb album. masterswarm!!! wat a song that is too

  • Almost happy hes not so huge. ads to the whimsicality

  • I'm pretty suer someone's already answered this, but Bird is playing "Oh No" from his Noble Beast album for anyone who was still wondering.

  • oh ok, i guess that's why the video is titled andrew bird - oh no

i was really fucking confused. thanks for clearing that up :)

  • i got the name of the song. you can ship me andrew bird or his heart anytime. ;) he is the love of my life, this man is a genius.

  • My exact thoughts. I can't look at a picture of him or a song by him without a warm feeling in my chest and a smile on my face.

  • i just want to grab a huge cd-player place it in the most crowded are i know of and put noble beast on. i just want to show the unknowing people that music - wonderful, inspiring and poetic music - still lives.

  • @nomadicroots you're absolutely right. he's gotten me through so many things. most people don't realize that this type of meaningful music is still around.

  • today is my first day hearing him. I am enjoying it so much.

  • andrew bird is sooo good

  • n_n love it!

  • So, so beautiful. What he does with looping the violin is so enchanting and rich.

  • Love you Andrew Bird!!!

  • its a nice song.

  • Wowow.

My mouth involuntarily hangs open when I watch his genius in work. I salute you, Andrew Bird.

  • he inspired me to learn how to whistle<333

    love him!!

  • 420

  • I CAN'T BELIEVE I MISSED THIS!

  • the chorus almosts sounds like the pretenders chain gang. good thing too.

  • the name is Oh No!! Do i win yet? where can i get my prize???? ive been waiting so long for it...!

  • Gorgeous man and great talent, obviously. And the way he whistles... I love it! :D

  • Mr. Bird is attractive and talented indeed. I, too, love his whistling, along with his singing and music. Often, I wish I could whistle with his skill and, when in a private setting, actually try to, but to little avail. Looks-wise, here, he kind of reminds me of Adam Brody from The O.C. (Anyone remember that show?)

  • i love you so much!

  • Andrew said that this song was inspired after a "bad bathroom incident"

  • Actually, it was inspired from a plane ride home from touring when the child in front of him was screaming "Oh Nooooo" and the way he said it is identical to the way it is in the song. Read it in a music compiostion journal of his~

  • lol, yeah I figured that my made up version was wrong.

  • what a talent! thanks mr. bird for all of your work and poetic observations.

"arm in arm we are the harmless sociopaths" - totally..

  • this song is SOOOO! the shins...i LOVE both of them. LOVE IT

  • whoa

  • I saw him Tuesday night in Pittsburgh at the Carnegie Music Hall & he was amazing!! My fiance & I were walking down the street to find somewhere to eat & saw him getting in his tour bus. We got to shake his hand! (= But it was too cold to stand & talk or get pictures =( But he's so amazing!

  • this song is sweet

  • I love this song!!

  • I love his voice, I could listen to this song forever.

  • can anyone tell me what kind of guitar this is

  • Gibson es 175?

  • i thought so too

but its too thin to be one.

    es 175s are kinda bulky

    like a legit jazz guitar

  • wonderful song

  • I wish he was my own little secret. <3

  • Arw...that's a cute way of putting it. I feel the same way. :o)

  • completeeelllyyy agree.

  • I guarantee he doesn't want to be kept in a box (I definitely know what you mean though). Did you know Noble Beast was number twelve on Billboard for the week it was released? Crazy . . . he deserves it though. :)

  • Haha, if it comes down to just knowing him personally that will be more than enough.

Wow, i didn't know that. That's wonderful, he finally gets recognition from the bigwigs! :)

  • great stuff:D

  • the building of the music is just so amazing. i love to hear it progress.

  • Thanks for uploading.

  • Andrew Bird is insanely attractive.

  • This is so beautiful.

  • i can't believe i missed this show. andrew bird will surely never return to cincinnati. where was this?

  • looks like taft theater to me

  • i absolutely can't wait for noble beast!!!

  • New Andrew Bird from Noble Beast out. Check it out at Pigeons and Planes

  • ahh shit, i meant for that to be directed towards

    hongkongfui923 :

he loops it all live. everything you hear, he's recording on stage.

  • ahhhhhh! yesyesyes! i was disappointed by armchair apocrypha but this glorious song reminds me so much of eggs! this album sounds to be truly promising. here's to a future spring of having andrew bird on repeat in my car!

  • i will never understand why people weren't satisfied with armchair apocrypha.

  • i just didn't feel it was very inventive? the songs all sounded kind of similar. the lyrics and musical styles of mysterious production were so varied and innovative.

  • me neither. it is quite literally my favorite album ever made.

  • I loved mysterious production, it has always been my favorite. Hope Noble Beast is just as great :)

  • I was satisfied with AA, I just didn't like it as much as some of his earlier work. But then again, if you take a look at what else is in my record collection, it's no surprise that the Bowl of Fire stuff is my favorite.

  • I love the way he whistles, its amazing how he knows how to blend all those sounds together making something original. I'm glad that I had listened.

  • Is he looping the all the string parts live, or is he playing and looping some of them over top of a playback?

  • he loops it all live. everything you hear, he's recording on stage.

  • I love him for that.

  • Sounds oddly familiar... Final Fantasy anyone?

  • what's Final Fantasy?

  • TWENTYTHREEAD , Final Fantasy is a fellow named Owen Pallette. He also arranges the strings for Arcade Fire. As Final Fantasy, Owen won the $20,000 Polaris prize in 2006 over such great artists as the Broken Social Scene, New Pornographers, Cadence Weapon and Wolf Parade. He named his project Final Fantasy because he loves the video games and even made an album about the the 7 schools of magic in Dungeons and Dragons.

  • MAGICAL :-)

  • what a man!

    mmm mmmm...

  • he's so sexy

  • Divine.

  • This video is better/clearer than the one with a higher viewing count, but the other has the NY Times Blog link.

  • It must be said - he's beautiful.

  • Ah, I wanted to answer first and get Andrew's heart ;-)

  • The name of this song is "Oh No." He's been writing about it in his NYT blog, Measure for Measure.
