The coolest looking hair in the history of humanity. There have been other manes that come close, Roger Daltry circa 1970 for instance, but Robert Plant in the 70s can't be matched. Rock & roll, man.
Something that always astonishes me is the fluidity with which both Robert Plant and Jimmy Page speak with in their interviews. I feel like many people have this idea that rock stars are air heads full of mumbo-jumbo, but these are intelligible, fair-minded men who break that rule. Quite impressive, really.
the last line is sorta sad now looking back. the wheels sorta fell off at the end of zeppelin's existence and after 1980ish the seldom got back together. such a shame that the most all around perfectly arranged band only lasted 11-12 years or so. BUT as they say, it's better to burn out than to fade away.

@fiveredpears Yes. That's what I noticed. Especially when he says words like "another" and "love", etc. And also words with the "ou" sound like "about" and the "a" in "after". Even today you can still hear it in his voice a bit.
You can see the lifestyle starting to take its toll on him even here; and then his son dies, and then the car accident ... what was to follow - Presence & In Through The Out Door - good as it was, wasn't them firing on all cylinders.
Did you show them a picture of Robert. Anyway, to be fair, Led Zeppelin wasn't geared towards people your age. It was a band for those in their late teens, 20's and older.
Girls your age in the 70's probably would have liked Donny Osmand (The Beiber of his time).
Robert Plant is a God. I am convinced now. When he sings he sings with his soul in a way noone can copy. The music is just. Well it is music. Other music is just posing, chords and riff. This is SOUL. Folkmusic, rock''n'roll, blues, beautiful lyrics. And then as a person he is so humble and loveable!!
Why is he so beautiful? Why. God why? Omg. I'm so in love with him. I go fucking crazy watching videos. I've got it baaaad. Oh, Robert. How I love you so. <3
Stairway to heaven is probably one of their worst songs. It made top 40, but that doesn't mean very much. This Bob Plant fellow is a real flake as evidenced from this video. This band really jumped the shark around Physical Graffiti, maybe before that.
@AZEIDJSKSQMM What do you mean "And?" You said "Morrison was just eccentric, very overrated singer and musician" and I said "We're talking about the sexiest man that has ever graced this earth" Put 2 and 2 together, ya dingus.
This is by far the BEST interview & band overview I have ever seen on You Tube. Thank you so much for posting this incredible piece of history. Long live Led Zepplin!
Robert Plant U Beautiful Sexy Man i thank my stars u were almost shirtless during ur shows :D and them jeans ooooo yes them jeans. Zepplein will always BE ROCK FOUNDERS
Wow! March 1975. I saw Led Zeppelin in early 1975, (Jan or Feb - I forget now), at Nassau Coliseum on Long Island. I actually saw them twice, back-to-back on two separate nights. My sister's boyfriend at the time had an extra ticket, and my friend and I had two tickets for the next night's show.
It was the Physical Graffiti tour and the show was amazing! I never saw any press they did for this tour so I'm thrilled to be able to see this so many years later. Thanks for posting!
I love how he's talking about exploring different types of music and not being ALL about hard rock although that's what most people credit Led Zeppelin for, but in between talking they play the most overplayed Zep songs and describe Bonzo's drumming as "bombastic"
ROBERT - you were rite ,we are ALL STILL HERE! my friend ,we are still here, loyal as ever . ZEP has touched our lives sO deeply -down into our soals, that you can tell we bleed ZEP in everything we do,its our attitude ,its in our swagger .
Its easy to see in every ZEP fan = that we demand quality AND class ,texture & depth now = not just in music BUT in all parts of our lives !
The last part of this interview kinda makes me wanna cry. He says how he doesn't see how it could end. But, in less than one year, he's going to have a car crash that had the potency to put him in a wheelchair for the rest of his life. In two years, his son is going to die. And in five, John Bonham will die. That's very, very sad..
Well, they sure wouldn't have been the same Zeppelin had they not varied from the "hard rock" formula. It's what they had done and been doing that made them famous. :)
Thank You a million times for posting this. I've only seen pictures and long thought this was one of the lost interviews. Boy does hisspeaking voice sound rough here. Not hard to imagine why 75 was a rough year for Plant vocally. They really should have taken that year off to let his voice heal. In a way, the car accident helped his voice recover.
@CallMeTheWonderer I have to agree. Unfortunatley March 75 was not a good time for him vocally. I don't think the cigarrette he is puffing on is a good call either. Cool stuff nevertheless. Great find.
