Macs are easier to develop for BY FAR, and assuming that by "PC" you mean microsoft's FAILdows, a macbook's battery dies more quickly when running as a PC. The only reason I do not plan on getting a mac is because it is too pricy. I'm a mac person, but I believe that I'd be more of a Linux geek than anything else. Besides, there are very few games worth buying that are not on Mac. Add that to the fact that one of the most powerful video editors is for mac, and you have no argument against it.
ATi video cards kinda lag in performance compared to their nVidia counterparts, should be interesting to see if the Radeon 5000-series changes this up at all.
My argument was that you could buy two of my machines (with everything) for the same price of one Mac Pro (without monitor). It runs faster, it runs better, and I do any servicing myself (if I ever need to)
The title of this video is completely wrong. The open GL form of graphics use is open source and can be used on Windows or Mac, that is true, but it was originated on the Mac platform. Windows almost always used direct x, or rather I should say, developers for windows always use direct x, or almost always do.
dude i run a 5593 on a mac book pro with Intel Core 2 Duo Processor Speed:2.53 GHz Number Of Processors:1 Total Number Of Cores:2 L2 Cache:6 MB Memory:4 GB Bus Speed:1.07 GHz

Your video card (4850) is much better than a 3870 or even a 8800gt, so your video is pointless.

This is true.

Agreed. And you can even go further and install Leopard on your PC. So the PC has much more value than Mac.

I've installed Leopard on my machine before. Couldn't get the kexts for my video card, though.
My suggestion to anyone who wants to make a hackintosh: choose your hardware carefully before building.

The OpenGL API was originally created by SGI. In fact, it's Predecessor, IRIS GL was created even before the X Window System came out.
And although OpenGL's point was to standardize the market, it originally ran on only SGI and IBM hardware.
By default, Windows Vista "translates" OpenGL to Direct3D. Hopefully Microsoft will re-implement Hardware Overlay so we can get back to true OpenGL.
Run Linux (Gentoo is worth a try)

Grats on the 5593.
As far as Cinebench is concerned, the 9600 is on par with the 4850.
2GB of Video Memory? That doesn't sound right...
