Vito Quattrocchi C.S.M.
Dearest Master Quattrocchi you are welcome, I am very glad to have your attention. Before I knew you for an anthropologist (Benedicaria) and historian (the Sicilian Blade), thanks to YouTube I have understood you are also a Fighter.
Best ragards from another Southern Italian.
Stefano.
PS: Five stars for all your works, the books and the lesson on YouTube too.
The one of Maestro Rapisardi based on the critical edition of Novati. But nowhere it is written to make a stroke, following the -Corona-, in that way: I repeat, it is my personal interpretation founded on the wide amount of socalled -botte segrete- (secred strokes) present in the Italian tradition and this for me has a lot of sense. Please, read also the descritpion because I also speak of feigns.
Ok I understand that we only try to revive Longsword fencing, but which manuscripts of Flos Duellatorum you interpret on this movie? Getty version or Novati or Morgan?? I assume that interpretations can be diffrent, but they must have sense.
In my opinion (and interpretation) Posta Frontala is similar to germany guard "vom Tag" with attack simple Fendente or Mezzane.
Also in both Posta di Finestra i think that point of sword should be aimed on the opponent. That is more dangerous for him, and better respond to pictures in manuscripts

So the 6th is my personal interpretation for a dirty strock that follows the guard named -Posta frontale- or -Corona-, a stroke that leap over the enemy blade aiming to the forehead. The -Posta Reale di Vera Finestra- is the 3rd. The -Posta Stanca di Vera Finestra- is the 10th, this one can be performed alternatively posing the hands on the right or the left in regard to the needing. This in few words. Many thanks for your kind interest.
Sorry but I don't understand this interpretation . I practice Flos Duellatorum for two years, and I have diffrent experiences with 12 guards. I don't recognize them all on this movie. Where is Posta de Fenestra or what is the sixht guard with hand on the "cross" (i don't know how is it called in English. In polish "jelec"). Can you explain it a little :-) ?
Good morning dear Adamob. The problem is that we just try to revive a Martial Art killed, in Europe, by the ultimate victory of the fire weapons five centuries ago. So we need to interpret old manuscripts and this is not easy, therefore, this clip shows my interpretation.
What a pleasant surprise! I was expecting to see the Rapier, and was rewarded by seeing the two handed sword. I have never seen these guards before. My girl and I will practice these and add them to our' repertoir.
I am very Happy to see your Italian Medieval Fencing. You are doing a good thing by keeping your old ways of the sword alive. Be proud brother. I have a two handed sword and I will be working these 12 movments now. Thank you Stefano. Peace to you my friend!
Stefano that was excellent I put it in my favourites . Showing another art fantastic. Now we have something else to see from Italy. When I get the chance I will look in great detail your email with the techniques .
