  • I ask you to make videos for each exercise so that all the people interested in traditional indian workout methods can learn from it.

  • This looks like the warm session for Kalari payatu ( Kerela's Martial Art). A state in southern India

  • These exercises look easy but I could imagine they're BRUTAL!!

  • Every now and then i have to physically restrain people in my job. The problem is i can feel i have lost a lot of strength as i dont exercise any more. Would you recommend this workout or something else. many thanks.

  • ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT,KEEP THE MULTIGYM THESE ARE MORE THAN JUST EXERCISES

  • I like it. Thanks

  • thumbs up for ghandi

  • You need to make a comprehensive instructional dvd and book. Maybe a combo of both. This stuff needs to be preserved.

  • FUNCTIONAL STRENGTH at its Simplest and FINEST! Oneof the sssoooo MANY REASONS why I have so much respect for Body weight work outs,Yoga, Qi Gong and traditional MA :)

tO THE POSTER OF THE VID,..thanks :)

  • The music...with all of them doing what their doing...is like a bad music video

    XD

  • @iubelo no dude, on the contrary they strengthen ur spine and help you streach. ofcourse any kind of exercise, if done incorrectly, can cause injury.

  • great cardio, great for resistance, great for agility and all. But I can barely stand the view of the guy with long hair and glasses. Man, cut your hair at least, please.

As for the technical side, this video makes very important suggestions about how you can do physical exercises that keep your mind awake and your spirit going.

  • this is AMAZING! i teach hatha yoga at a texas yoga studio and i have never seen this before. true evidence of why we are to be eternal students. always something to learn. this is the ultimate marriage of what i know of as plyometrics and hatha yoga. thank you for sharing.

  • Cool moves, Mnpli.

    Check out Summer Games

    Push Ups Chamption contest.

Cash and Gift prizes at BodyWeightCulture

  • These exersizes are actually very good for connectivity with your spirit. The high numbers of them help you stay more relaxed, and the stretching opens up the meridians in your body.

  • really funny actually, looks like a right workout as well

  • right thats why the hindus are so strong. LOL

  • theyre not?

  • have you ever seen a hindu wrestler? i think you'd rescind your sacrcastic comment if you did

  • the great khali!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Gotta remember guys like this base their idea of strength on some roid freak that looks like the hulk in his youth and Mark Kerr when he quits juicing.

  • Put on some fuckin clothes. nice exercises.

  • you dont see any need for weights ey?

not making a beef but you wouldn't only eat chocolate to survive would you? :P

  • just so you know weight training is used.

    just not showen here.

  • If it didn't severely affect my health i would

  • @20baki20 bad comparison, a strong body can be attained without the need to lift any weights

  • @vishals2 strong how though

  • @20baki20 ahhh.. i see what you did there

  • @20baki20

Did you seriously compare bodyweight exercises with eating chocolate to survive? My God..you have so much to learn.

  • @20baki20 Also if you read the book combat conditioning, you would understand how doing them with weights can actually be counter productive.

The author says he used to follow the original routines (without weights - as taught to him by the renowned Karl Gotch), until some of his friends suggested that adding weights should make these exercises better. And he says after years of doing it with weights, he regrets nothing more than having listened to those idiots...

  • @20baki20 Some of the best athletes ever never used weights.

  • hi i was wondering how long you do this routine for.....i have heard of wrestlers who do over a thousand dands at a session combined with other excercises you have featured here......also do you know what sort of food is recommended to support this sort of a workout?.....great video by the way all of these plus pull ups and i dont see the need for weights.

  • Hi,

    Short answer No!

    These are yogic exercise

A strong flexible spine is always desirable.

  • Very interested in the exercises here. Is there any place I can get complete instruction for this. I can tell just by watching that these exercises will yield excellent gains in muscular endurance, overall conditioning, and flexibility. Believe combining some of this with the cardio and plyo work I do could improve my sports performance substantially. Any info you could provide would be appreciated.

  • Keep in touch.

i thinking of doing a video one of these days

    ciao

  • I'm in.

  • I do TaiChi and see these exercises as good compliment to condition whole body. However, I wonder if some of these exercises that involve repetitive knee bending while weight bearing, whether they would be beneficial to strengthen supporting muscles of the knee or whether potentially damaging and lead to premature wear of knee joints. I guess it would depend on whether or not the exercises were done properly; weight sinking down through core into ground instead of down & out through the knees

  • I was thinking the same thing. I have a bias, several knee surgeries and prediction for a replacement. It's been many years since my knees were normal, but seeing the exercisor with knee braces made me cringe. I liked the push-up, toe touch, downward facing dog variations and will try and incorporate them. During my middle years, I'm trying to ween myself from the love of heavy iron and jerky short range movements, so I might enjoy my late years. newish taichi student 24,48, CXW 38.

  • Yoga Jr.

  • look i hardly think mnpli is a practitioner, lets put aside humble (no offense mnpli i respect you dog.) The point is simple your chai tea came from indian martial art and yoga. And believe me when I say the above techniques are not just meant to make you strong but to out last you everyone. check out kalari videos where master of this art (who perform similar exercise on dialy basis) are over 100 years old and still running strong.

  • hey butt smeller gangster this is a hindu martial art exercise. hindus are against muslims and thus against terrorists.

  • looks like you have sucking lot of hindu and muslim dicks, you seem to have good idea of their dicks size. but i tell you what its probably because they are not aroused by you. when they put their dicks up your moms ass it comes out of her mouth ha ha hah aha

  • haha, you seem to know a lot about hindu an muslim dicks ass well. Perhaps you and your mom Fluffed them before they went for mine.

  • no i know your mom

  • You shouldnt speak ill of religions, all paths are to worship God regardless of Christians, Hindus, Muslims, etc. Better not to argue with fools in this way.

  • Your sentence is jumbled. Who is the fool? Who are you speaking too. You sound like a special Olympics acceptance speech. ass fucker.

  • ok gangster pufh lol!

  • Hindus are not against anyone, Hindus belive that the the divine is the the indweller in each being. Hindus believe in non violence, tolerance, Ghandi was a Hindu. Better not use Hindism in your arguments with fools Namaste

  • HINDUISM will not make a rat into an dove. Just because someone is IN water doesn't mean they can swim. Just because someone is Hindu doesn't mean they are good or bad. Don't fool yourself by the rubber stamp, simpleton.

  • hmm you dont get it do you, a real Hindu, Muslim, Christian will not do anything bad towards anyone, however a person NOT following the teachings cannot claim to be a Hindu etc. I would love to see you face to face and see how you would communicate to me then, May all peace and happiness come to you, oh do you believe in Karma?

  • I would love you to except when you got here I would happily teach you a lesson, hmm with a name like gangstal are you black?

  • what kind of lesson?

  • you didnt answer my question, are you black? if so you should know that making racist remarks and degrading remarks about people religions / ethnic groups is damaging. hmm the lesson would be with regards to you previous comment of shitting on my face would be in teaching you respect by giving you a beating, Go and have a think about do you like racisim? If not obsevre your comments and see if you yourself are racist at times. :)

  • what u terrorist activity analysist or something?

  • yes

  • Nice work men. Good to see the various levels of fitness working out together.

  • Thanks!

  • You cannot spend your whole life watching out for dudes with wrenches. If some asshole really wants to hit you in the head with a wrench, like it is is driving force, the reason he wakes up in themorning, then said asshole is going to hit you in the head with a wrench. One morning you are just going to be sitting there eating your Cheerios and BAM, wrench to the skull.

  • i love the pole dancing routine

  • they are repeating same exercises again and again. i can do more indian exercises better than this

  • how come there arent dvds available for exercise routines like these....if there are...someone send me link.

  • p90x is very similar

  • Thanks for posting great video.

  • This video rules!

  • ah indian wrestling workouts! i never thought those exercises survived to make it to present day.

i'd defently like to develope some of this into my training basis for judo

  • check out kalari (indian martial art) videos and you will forget your judo, not trying to down you or anything just watch it and you will see (watch the whole thing). Its a damn shame, hindus are so passimistic that they would rather be ruled by others then to hurt them. Otherwise mogals and British had a world of hurt coming to them when they invaded.

  • thiS IS GREAT training, where can i find the music ?

  • it's tala matrix, with Zakir Hussain , Trilok Gurtu.... great ;)

  • Yes!

  • Amazing! I recently started doing Hindu Squats and Pushups as best I could learn them from videos. I can't wait to try some of these exercises.

  • These guys do not look like fine specimens!! Are these things really effective?

  • try n find out fren it really works....

  • top video ! ! !

  • thanks!

  • It looks like an endurance training!

  • it's strenght, flexability and endurance training.

  • Where can I find more information about it?

  • try 'indian wrestling' training regime.

    also try bodyweight exercise...

  • I am a former professional badminton player. trained for 15 years. 2 years ago I started playing squash with a serious interest, in parallel with my job. 1 year ago I started these Indian methods of exercises to get fit for squash. They give me muscular endurance, cardiovascular endurance, agility, flexibility all in a single workout. Pain in my knees, elbow, back, due to earlier injuries vanished within 3 wks! Do not forget to breath through nose only and the rythm of breating. Enjoy!

  • this is lame..................sike! This is realyl cool, i use some of these methods, they give you functional strength

  • great vid!

  • Sweet. Bruce Lee greatly respected the exercises of Indian wrestlers. It's good to see a video of them posted :).

  • Huh? These guys are NOT the people Bruce was referring to. I'd advise anyone AGAINST undertaking these "exercises".... looks like a great way to injure yourself, but that's about it.

  • Well, he did seem to think it worth putting illustrations of these push-ups and squats in The Tao of Jeet Kune Do.
