    In other words, "Year" in japanese.

  • @xXAirYukiXx It's originally the Chinese character "nian", which doubles as the word for year and as the name of the monster in the legend.

  • @thejoco1990 It's actually just the version I know of the real legend behind it...I just added some visual humor to make it more fun to watch.

  • @Mike480537 Yup, the story is one that's very old and explains a bit about how the celebration got to be the way it is today. The jokes are all visual, and the story is as true as I have heard it to be.
