  • its weird to think the drummer is in underoath now lol

  • This song gets me so pumped!! lol

  • its all about oh god the aftermath

  • @budverissimo1 hands down, the best album they put out.

  • the reason the i got into this band was the drummer beard hahha but he left but they still kick ass

  • o_o

    @ this video/song.

  • The musics really good but if I wanted to listen to that much screaming I would have stayed with my ex.

  • sorry fans, but to me O God The Aftermath was the only album from Norma Jean that had a sound that distuingished them from any bands of the time. the first and third were just to Generic. Felt to completly unoriginal. But Jesus Goddamn Mother Fucking Christ did O God The Aftermath Kick Stupid retarded ass. Super Dank

  • @ilovemetal97 How is that dude, Norma Jean never even had choruses until O God The Aftermath. Bless the Martyr and Redeemer were sick records.

  • @SunsetEuphoria Bless the Martyr has choruses, Memphis shall be laid to waste is a perfect example...

  • I effin love Norma Jean! Bless the Martyr is the best album in my opinion from these guys.

  • I love Norma Jean and all but don't ever ever ever put them on the same level with Botch. Ever.

  • que viva norma jean!!!...que metalcore tan puro y tan diferente a los demas...esta banda es unica...

  • My favorite album of theirs is definitely O God, the Aftermath

  • I like how everyone is upset that they went in different directions with their music. IMO, I think they have the right to and also kicked ass while doing it. If you really listen to Anti-Mother, you'll understand what was going on with that album. The song, Death of The Antimother, has to be one of the heaviest songs I've heard in a while. When they put out that album, they showed that they weren't just a one trick pony and had what it took to be a kick ass fucking band.

  • Personally, I have a soft spot (or a hard spot) for Redeemer, but I love all of their albums and really respect them for exploring different sounds while staying true to themselves and their fans.

  • Hey, a personal message to me about the complete meaning and symbolism of this song would be much appreciated. :]

Yes I'm Christian and yes I love The works of Norma Jean. :]

  • Lyrics: We walked on glass all day long, with eyes rolled back

it came with smiles, it came with gestures, and it came with motives.

Investing flowers in one hand and a blade in the other

This is between me and this blade, and my heart.

Distributing rusty knives in these countless attractive letters

with a directional diagram of a guilty heart.

    "Insert Knife Here"

Lack of thought on this subject has attested catastrophic

Come one, come all, introduce knife to heart.

    With our eyes rolled back.

  • This and here, RIGHT Now I'm listening to "Norma Jean" for the first time... WHAT A GOD-DAMN AWESOME SONG!! This is really great, fuck, I need more...

  • you now have entered a world of FUCKING AWESOME MUSIC bro!

  • @redlikeberries Thank you ;-) I totally aggree!! Great Band, great Songs!!

  • A lot of people call Norma Jean a Botch rip off but I bet Botch wishes they wrote this fucking song, its awesome

  • I can hear the botch influence because of the overall choppyness of the album, but there's no riffs that are copied or immitated. This album is their best one!!

  • @Heegs Who says that. I've never heard that til just now, and they sound very different Pre- and Post-Josh Scogin. Botch has way different time signatures, a different vocal style, and lyrically political and darker, not to mention they don't use breakdowns. If anything Norma Jean and botch play abrasive and rough angry music. That's it. You're comparing Deftones to Slipknot man.

  • @Heegs

both bands are great and pioneers why don't oppeople just shhut up with their ripoff shit

    music is music

  • fuck this kicks fuckin' ass..

  • Bless the martyr... is by far their best album...

  • you are right that´s the best...

  • norma jeans first 2 cds were the best to me. rock on norma jean!

  • Nonsence.

  • best album in the history of mankind

  • this is between me and this blade and my heart

  • botch rip off

  • Shut up all of you Norma Jean is the best band ever and everything they have done is one of a kind and we all should respect them and their work.

  • this is the norma jean i like! fuck that pussy antimother bullshit

  • Well, Norma jean has been one of y favorite bands for a couple of years, and people are starting to know them by their softer stuff. . . (New stuff)

This is when they were like four years younger and fucking amazing. BUT I HEARD THEY ARE WRITING HARDER STUFF! almost as hard as the album O' God. :D :D :D

  • whats with these comments like ooo the good old days, noma jean is still the shit

  • man, the good old days

  • it sounds good but almost every metalcore song sounds similar

  • best norma jean song

  • good ol times

  • yes.

  • i love Corey, hes so amazing

  • We walked on glass all day long with eyes rolled back

It came with smiles it came with gestures and it came with motive

Investing flowers in one hand and a blade in the other

This is between me and this blade and my heart

  • Nub^^^^^^^^^^

Norma jean was before and i think they are alot better than oh sleeper

  • dude are you serious. haha

  • dude,i can tell you they're almost the same..at least in the beggining

  • fuckkkkkkkkkkk that's a good song.

    gets you pumped like O_O

  • Solid State Records has like the evolution of Normajean. That's pretty tight. They sound soooo much different since Cory came in. In a good way. New members means new sounds. I love that they haven't lost their faith in God. Which is totally rad.

  • Can't stop listening to them. Screams are awesome, so are the guit, bass and drum.

  • i saw cory at this gas station when i was going to texas hes a really nice guy

  • I Know i heard he is very nice and also i think he is a way better singer then josh but dont get me wrong he was good in norma jean it was just that he was off with the chariot cory deserves to be with them

  • yeah he really is I have a pic with him when they came to NC a couple weeks ago... THE BEST SHOW I HAVE SEEN EVER!!!!!

  • I quit listening to norma jean because scogin left

  • he's currently in The Chariot....

  • Naaaaw weally? Sorry, I don't mean to sound rude. I just can't help but being a smart ass. I do appreciate you trying to help me enjoy his fantastic lyrics.

  • tha chariot is the like THE SHIT lol they are mad awsome great meanings in their songs, lots of noise(in a good way) and some badass breakdowns.

  • i gave him a big hug after a show in pomona, CA. it was awesome. haha

  • i can't wait till i get my band put together we have a drummer, me a bassist and backup vocals and a guitarist who can scream some what

this is the greatness that we aim to be like

    Go Norma Jean

  • Hey dude, if you are in colorado, my band is looking for a bassist, we have a guitarist, pianist, and a drummer. We kinda sound like slipknot in some songs and in others kinda like august burns red/norma jean. If your interested.

  • "insert knife here" = sickest line ever

  • I love this video!... I remember when it first came out! There first one with Cory and Jake!

  • Mylene & The Sons Of Disaster have similar chorus parts :-]

But here it sound better due to the raw and crazy guitars in between. Sick chords. Hear also bit of Sepultura from time of Arise/Chaos A.D... little bit, not much.

  • maylene rulez there awesome live but then again so is norma jean

  • can see it or the first time in m life... Im not sure if they are from america but I like them...

  • yea theyre from US.

    Georgia i think.

  • this blatantly the same place where demon hunter, the agony scene, beloved had their videos filmed.

  • ur rite is is the same. demon hunter- not ready to die and the agony scene- we bury our dead at dawn.

  • his singing is sick when he does the choruses

  • and to SignMyVeosorapter...

    Botch was 1993-2002

    Norma jean 2001-today

before you post something, get a little background information instead of just making up facts,

    thanks

  • Despite this, Norma Jean sounds nothing like Botch...

  • 2001 was norma jean but lutikriss went further back than that. Lutikriss was norma jean's previous name.

  • norma jean formed in 1998 as luti-kriss, while it was still after botch i'd say get your facts COMPLETELY correct before criticizing someone.

  • K Botch is awesome and there wouldn't be a Norma Jean if there wasn't a Botch.

they are both different bands completely, but Norma has Botch as their main influence which is completely cool, since they are two amazing bands.

  • and there wouldnt be norma without lutakris... or however you spell it

  • number 1 botch sucks and doesnt have any talent and number 2 Norma Jeans been a band way longer than they have. So its botch whose copying.

  • Number 1. YOUR a fucking idiot. Number 2. YOur still a fucking idiot. and my my favorite. Number 3. YOUR A FUCKING IDIOT!

  • oh, so this band automatically ripped off botch because they sound like them. omg people, its almost impossible NOT to do that!

id like to see you do better than Norma Jean, you idiots

  • I dont know ive never even heard of this botch band so they must not have been that good.

  • dude a good band isnt any band that you hear about. You gotta make the goddamn effort and look. thats why real underground is what it is. you have to make the effort to find good music. your not just told whos good or who you should like. thats why MTV is fucking shit.

  • Your pants can't cut off circulation to your brain because your heart pumps the blood, not the testicles. If anything, all that redirected blood would go to your brain possibly causing it to fuction better. I'm not taking sides,I'm just adding my two cents.

  • u suck pantera sux too

  • SHUT up queer ass go listen to your bitch ass fallout boy, fucking poser. your gay ass tight pants are cutting off the circulation to your brain.

  • still metal sux ass hardcore will rule all....go suck ozzy's cock

  • metal and hardcore are both awesome dude.

  • well i agfree with one thing u said. OZZY SUCKS COCK. AS FAR AS HARDCORE GOES. I LIKE IT. BUT U DONT. UR BITCH ASS POSER WHO WEARS TIGHT PANTS AND THINKS HE LIKES HARDCORE. SO SHUT THE FUCK UP ALREADY. IF U KNEW ANYTHING ABOUT HARDCORE OR MATHCORE OR WATEVER U WOULD NO THAT THIS BAND BLATANTLY RIPPED OFF BOTCH. AND THATS NOT METAL. THATS MATHCORE or HARDCORE IF THATS WHAT U WANNA CALL IT

  • and if u knew nething then u would know that no band can be completely original now a days without sounding kind of like another band. so get over your self. and yea i wear tight pants....so?? get over yourself.......like i said.

  • likw i said b4. its not kinda sounding like another band. its trying as hard as they can to be that band with out using their name. Pull your head out and listen.

  • Dude Pantera and Norma Jean Rocks so STFU

  • Who cares?

    Not me.

If they ripped of this Botch band I might have to go listen to it and Norma Jean.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

  • imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. i ll give u that. but when you write an album that 100 percent rips off another band and take all the credit for it, than im sorry but thats bullshit.

  • These are the correct lyrics

We walked on glass all day long, with eyes rolled back

it came with smiles, it came with gestures, and it came with motives.

  • The Lyrics:

Waltz around the room, with a glaze in your stare.

In your tuxedo suit. I'll give it a name. Lower

defenses. I'll lower the casket. Open the door.

Open the grave. Murder. Now you're doing the waltz with your murderer......

Waltz around the room, with a glaze in your stare.

In your tuxedo suit. I'll give it a name. Lower

defenses. I'll lower the casket. Open the door. Open the grave.

    Mediocrity is the killer.

  • You find yourself helpless. Christ is not a fashion,

    fleeting away. fashion...

He laid emeralds in her eyes, oh but I'd

already tried. a bracelet made of gold and scarlet

thread around her wrist. and everything was wrong so we

sang sentimental songs. Oh how seldom we belong but

  • You find yourself helpless. Christ is not a fashion,

    fleeting away. fashion...

He laid emeralds in her eyes, oh but I'd

already tried. a bracelet made of gold and scarlet

thread around her wrist. and everything was wrong so we

sang sentimental songs. Oh how seldom we belong but

  • how elegant our kiss. and we painted crooked lies but we

danced in perfect time to a love so much refined, we

know not what it is until like a dullen wine we pour

into a grief we know before but it's never quite like this. never quite like this.

All I know now is regret, it follows like a silhouette

along the cobblestone behind me, but has nothing to

say except to innocently ask, a voice as delicate as

glass, "Do you see me when we pass?" but I continue on

    my way.

  • dude all those lyrics are to memphis will be laid to waist... but still great lyrics

  • What do you mean who cares? No one cares, especially in this genre. You're acting like being Christian affects anything.

  • What do you mean by off timing?

Did you mean playing in odd time signatures?

  • ;D yay

  • BAYONETWORK!!!

  • downmediocrity said it best.

Quit downing on a band for their beliefs when it doesn't affect you. I'm a devout atheist and I could careless if they were christian.

They are good and that's all that matters.

  • not to be a fag,but..devout athiest is a oxy moron.and ya,noone should care if the band is christian or not, wikipedia says that they are christian themselves because one of the member found and dead body when they were skiing and that strengthened all thier faiths apparently.and they do like to write about the rapture so :P.w.e

  • haha

    they are devil music

if you want real christian music go listen to a little cannibal corpse or bleeding through

  • wow why are people picky about if bands are christian or not? it doesnt really matter its all music in the end lol Job for a cowboy isnt christian but they kick ass.. alot of christian bands curse too and have darker lyrics than most non christians

  • name some christian bands that curse. cause i sure cant think of any

  • Well, Norma Jean for one. Repeating "To Hell with It". I believe that's cursing, is it not? OH and a band that started in the seventies, Trouble, always sang songs about bible verses but had an anti-war song called "Bastards Will Pay" and they said fuckers in that same song.

  • To the best of my knowledge, they are saying to hell with Satan, whom the bible says is destined for hell in the end anyways. My reasoning behind this is the phrase "Don't you dare insinuate me". Satan is called the accuser of the brethren.

  • ROLLED BACK! ROLLED BACK! ROLLED BACK! Do these guys work for Wal-Mart?

  • your fucking stupid

  • best band ever

  • fuckin they fucking kick fucking total fucking ass and FUCK YOU I CAN SAY WHATEVER THE FUCK I WANT....THIS IS BETWEEN ME AND THIS BLADE AND MY HEART!!!

  • This is soooo good but soooo old!

  • Yes, INSANE i think, no control XD

  • i love the drummer's hi hats. theyre so cool. this band is awesome.

  • Daniel Davidson is an awesome drummer... he gave me a signed pair of drumsticks on the 7th of june here in aus when they came down for The Great Autralian Noise Tour

  • Wow man, i would buy those off of you if i could! Hes an amazing writer as well, he writes lots of the material.

  • Fucking mean !

  • yeah..

  • fucking awesome

  • dude why the heck are you swearing i mean like what the hell dnt you know they are a christian band i dnt think they wld like it if theyr fans were swearing cause of them

  • Norma Jeans christian? awesome i was tryin 2 find tht out cuz theyre cool. but my mom wont leme get them, cuz they scream n she thinks its evil :P

  • hahaha man i understand my mum says the same thing...

she thinks they're evil because they scream...

    Norma Jean are DEFINATLY CHRISTIAN

i went to their concert on the 7th of june here in australia... and i asked them all to make sure... and cory, daniel, jake, scottie and chris all said yes we are christian... when chris signed my top he wrote the scripture Romans 6:23 on it...

so show your mum this message and tell her they are definatly christian... they even prayed for me :D

  • lol ight ill try. my favorite band is underoath, n she hates them too. i wanted to listen to extol, but of course it was a no. thts cool that they prayed for you though.

  • This band is fucking insane.
