The best feathers to use are from the tail of the Magpie as they have the green colour that you need for the wing of the Magpie and Silver. The feathers on the wings are more a blue rather than a green...

Great to see proper tinsel being used so beautifully. Also the traditional hackle doubling technique that one hears so little of these days. A beautiful fly that looks like it would also take sea trout.
