This tune was used in an episode of the famous documentary THE WORLD AT WAR. The episode covered "The Phoney War" along the Maginot Line and Trenet's "BOUMS" were synchronised with film footage of those massive French guns going-off and his "at-at-at-at-at" sound with footage of machine guns. For a moment, the concept of war was quite humourous!

Anyway, here in the song, it's really just like the English interjection Boom! for the sound. No party but a very individual experience of one's heart beat.
