The source for High West is Lawrenceburg Distillers Indiana which is famous for producing bulk spirits (Templeton Rye is another that comes from this distillery and Tom Bulleit has revealed that the new Bulleit Rye Small Batch is also sourced from there). That said, members of the bourbon forums find that LDI makes some very good bulk ryes.
Just want to clarify that High West has not admitted to sourcing from LDI. However Chuck Cowdery and other bourbon bloggers/reviewers firmly believe that LDI is the most likely source since they specialize in making bulk whiskey.
@shuboy05 High West actually sources their stuff from a number of places. The 6 year old in Rendezvous is from LDI as is the 2 year old in their newest product, Double Rye. The older products in those two blends are sourced from Bartons and Pernod Ricard. David Perkins, the proprietor at High West has done a great job of sourcing some excellent old ryes.
I also saw the mentions on Chuck Cowdery's Blog. I was actually surprised that Four Roses product is in the High West line (the Bourye maybe?). IIRC David Perkins wrote that he got it from Pernod Ricard and that Jim Rutledge was surprised when he found out.

@shuboy05
Anyway when I have the budget, I think I'll try buying a bottle each of the entire line.

@shuboy05 Yep, Jim didn't even know it existed. The whiskey industry is an interesting one for sure!
