  • Ah, shucks! He talked about the Hobbit! If only he didn't leave the directors chair!

  • @TheDckfilms He left to do a cthulu movie but it was cancelled. ;.;

  • @TheDckfilms He had no choice: The producers dragged their feet for nearly two years, and expected the director to sit around waiting. He's got other projects and he stated that he couldn't be in New Zeland for years at a time without an active project and away from his family and other projects.

  • This is the only Director when I haven't disliked a single one of his films. I am very critical when I watch movies, so for a director to impress me every time he makes a movie is a big deal.

  • I would choose Guillermo's movies over Peter Jackson's in a fucking new york second, this guy is so much more deep, refined and classy, pure genious! Whereas jackson is so veery overrated with his ridiculous and absolutely boring LOTR to begin with.

  • Guillermo tried to replicate hellboy too much in the first one the acting was poor, and i thought his worst film, here he gives it a feel, and a look, and it fits perfectly in the fantasy action adventure superhero realm, more or less fantasy thriller also them usic is superb, cinematography, look tone, story, costumes, puuperteers, the best film i have ever had the exsprience to watch thank you Guillermo Del Toro for a masterpiece of filmmaking

  • I did like Hellboy 2, but it definatly had it's issues.

  • legend all the way since Cronos

  • Well, I'm thankful they made HELLBOY 2! I LOOOOVE PRINCE NUADA!

  • the name "Guillermo" is the best!!! I love him!!

  • i see many coments about DEL TORO but no one coments

about any people from every place in the world can create movies...in these case a Mexican from Guadalajara Jalisco Mexico is the one create THESE MOVIE.

  • He should have won an oscar 100000 years ago. I hope he'll get one now when he'll be directing The Hobbit and The Hobbit 2. Those movies will be masterpieces, no doubt.

  • DEL TORO is f-ckin GENIUS!!!

  • I really liked Guillermo Del Toro's direction in Pan's Labyrinth (when I first saw his kind of work) but I really loved him in Hellboy II! I loved how he keeps the theme of these imaginary creatures having sort of oval heads, dark body features, pale faces for the evil ones and the thing going on about the eyes (eyes are on hands, eyes are on wings, eyes are everywhere)! I find it beautiful and just really intriguing to watch! God, he is a real visionary and he is one of my favourites!

  • copy that

  • touche beautiful bouquet.

  • when i went to see this movie i was the very FIRST person in the theater. and it was way more than worth it.

  • BRILLIANCE!!!

  • dose any one else think it would be cool if Guillermo del Toro and Tim Burton made a movie together it would be intresting

  • yeah! nice point.

  • hes awsome...viva los mexicanos como este...long live the mexicans like him who there are few...viva Mexico!

  • few!WTF!!

  • yeah, few like 1/4 of Mexico.

  • I loved the movie!

  • my name is Richie Del Toro woo hoo same last name!!!!!!!!!!!!he made pans laberath

  • Guillermo is such a true visonary I like the way how he makes all the monsters look in this movie and Pans Labyrinth was really good to but I like Hellboy II The Golden Army A lot better best movie of 2008

  • hellboy 2 was awesome but personally i liked pans labyrinth better.

  • yeah I will admit that was a very good movie Im glad I saw that and this

  • i wanto to see this movie mmm well i like hellboy but mmm i like the soundtrack! ^^ rammstein...

  • i loved this movie!

  • I love how his movies are well-balanced in the use of puppets and cgi.

  • this guy... he's like the mexican ishiro honda. Two Hellboys, Pan, and one of these days a Shoggoth, thats one hell of a resume.

  • Don't forget about a Hobbit.

del Toro is one of my favorite directors, but suffers the same problem as F. Scott Fitzgerald; he's a perfectionist to a fault. Luckily, he is damn good

  • a!! hobbit?? he's making two of them!!!

    ones not even writtin!!

  • Guillermo del Toro is the embodiment of artist genius.

I never had a favorite director until I watched more of his movies. Guillermo is my all-time favorite!

  • Del Toro is BRILLIANT.

  • Del Toro is a FREAKING GENIUS. Period.

  • Dubzy81 I respect your opinion. But I agree with both of us. Change is excellent, but it can cause many different changes that can be prominent and yet disturbing. Del Toro I think will do a great job but you probably won't get the same feeling as you did with Lord of The Rings trilogy. But if he doesn't forget the consequential parts in between each storyline and does not make the monsters look as to much like his monsters in his previous movies I think it will do great.

  • Wow learning German impacts your writing very badly.

  • I am a little worried how The Hobbit will turn out with Guillermo del Toro is directing it. I fear this because he does a wonderful job with monsters but he over exaggerates them into a crooked but Beautiful monster. It justs seems like it will stray to far from the Lord Of The Rings trilogy from Peter Jackson's ideas. I mean how do you know Hellboy 2's or Pan's Labyrinth's imagination won't rub off on The Hobbit.

  • straying far might be a good thing you wouldnt want it to be a copy of LOTR. change as good as a rest and all that.

  • Cause Peter Jackson will be producing it. Del Toro, from what i've seen from Hellboy 2, will probably do a capable job in the Hobbit. Alot of what I know about it (since i've only seen the cartoon), Del Toro's use of puppetry and of course Jackson's WETA studios will do wonders bringing many of fictional characters to life.

  • what would worry me would be the story, the heart of the story, and the characters. cuz i think he tends to focus too much on special effects. the effects are great, dont get me wrong, but i think HB2 was missing something which is what i loved from HB1: the characters personas, emotions, better acting, the storyline, and the heart of the story. still, HB2 was great. i wanna see it again.

  • Torro is much more respectful than Jackson is. Jackson had king kong practically buying roses for ann darrow, and couldn't even remember the names of the other monsters! If the hobbit has a monster in it, than Del Torro can do it better than PJ.

  • i like his writing style

  • wow he's one of my favorite director's. he has a fantastic imagination. he'll do great in hobbit!

  • yea right halfway spanish halfway chicano cholo, salvatrucha or latino crap, who the fucking hell cares about your background is, so ignorants as you deserve shut the fuck off everyone knows del toro is mexican, and I really despise people, like you.indeed

Ignorante de mierda.y mi orgullo es ser del df (mexico city) pinche ignorante, soy chilango 100% awebo puto lepese akien le pese

so dumb you are if I were you I give miself fuckedoff poor guy pobre diablo

  • Arriba del Toro!!

  • hey can we check if he is legal or not for the sake of all the bigots on this forum!!!!

    oh i kid

  • we can check your dirty bagshitty pamper sucker stick your motherfucker legal status in your ass crappy guy white or nigga.I hate americans i swear i do.

  • u should call ur self straightoutofshithole bcz ur understanding of English sounds very minimal, i was being sarcastic if u don't know what it means get a english to spanish dictionary & read u ignorant fuck.

i think Guillermo is a fantastic director, but thats beside the point since ur thick head does not understand any thing

  • Guillermo will fill the shoes... He is amazing!

  • peter jackson's brother

  • peter jackson himself dressed as a mexican

  • you all greengous are so dumb assholes

what if he doesn`t look like a mexican?

    what`s the matter?

senselees minded way to think, racist, you dont have any fucking idea how the mexicans from city looks like, all you have a motherfucker redneck`s habits: hostility

  • Racism is when you hate people of a certain race, not group, because a group can include black, white, hisppanic, asian, anybody.

  • everybody who replied my comment LISTEN!!!

I didn´t wanted to begin such kind of discussion about racism and all this stuff.

My comment was only supposed to be a joke.

It´s nothing bad about mexicans, spain or their inhabitans. I´m german that´s why the critic that sais "you are a racist, fuck you" and so on hits me very hard.

In my opinion Guillermo del Torro is one the most creative Directors of todays movie industry. By the way there isn´t any word of racism in my comment!!!!

  • You sounded so ignorant, His last name is Spanish because Spain "conquered" Mexico and a lot of Mexicans have Spanish last names, and who told you Mexicans have to look a certain way to be Mexicans.

  • crakuuuuuuhhhhh Lol Guillermo is so cool. xD

  • @GymCampos27 Spain did not conquered Mexico, they conquered the Aztecs and the people ranging from Southern USA all the way to petagonia near antartica to say the least. Mexicans are a product of diverse ethnic groups of people that have settled in what we call Mexico and they all are either of European, Black, Native American or Asian descent. The term Mexican is simply a Nationality, not an race. and yes you are right, having stated the facts, there is no look that Mexicans ought to have :)

  • @GymCampos27 yeah some mexicans look native american and some look european. Guillermo del Toro is the latter.also, such an awesome director!

  • fuck you ignorant crappy nigga go back to africa slave

how do you know how a mexican from city dressed

  • thtas very ignorant of you to say...

  • fuck peter jackson. fuck no,Del toro,100% mexican, he aint got any mothefucker american relatives indeed.

  • Doesn't look native to me, but whatever, I don't even care. Bye.

  • i really hope the hobbit turns out as good as lord of the rings was, guillermo has some big shoes to fill.

  • he'll do fine. quiet possibly better. and jackson will be monitoring it.

  • I would've loved for him to direct one the Harry Potter films. With his imagination and creativity it would be great.

  • I know. *cries* I was hoping and praying that they would ask him ..but no. :/

  • Im a HUGE Potter fan boy, but i think cuaron did what guillermo would have done,so im happy that askaban wasnt bad at all, they did consider him, but the dude with the order said i want to do the rest and since the fifth sold,well..money talks. But what worries me about him directing either potter of hobbit is the personal imagination and style this guy has, things like potter cant be made into what he wants because the script is so well crafted allready,he would bump heads with JKR a lot.

  • Guillermo del Toro is very funny

  • LOL

    "your superman"

  • coolness

  • comment sorry.

  • oh cool!!!! :) BTW first cmomment!!!!!!!!!!!!
