Sports used to be to occupy children. The grown men would retire, sometimes with a nice cigar, to talk about business, society matters, current affairs etc. Everyone is infantilised now.
It's interesting to look through newspaper archives from 1900s and see the sorts of coverage compared to now. International affairs, the gold standard, social problems, they were on everyone's lips.

The other day I walked into a (public place) where there was a "classic" rose bowl game being replayed. So I pretended that it was a live game and started rooting for the team on offense. The reaction I ranged from "is this guy retarded?" to "what space ship just beamed you down?". So I said " Aw, who cares and walked out.
I was having a moment of irony. I don't know if anyone got it. Who cares anyway?

had free tickets to a baltimore/steeler game recently. Never again! Just to get in they had the fake frisking of every single person which created a massive backup to get in. Then you had a bunch of slobbering idiots (many brought their kids too) getting drunk, swearing, fights and slurs everywhere. People were puzzled my co-worker and I did not have any tribal colors on and asked which team we were rooting for, I told them we were just their to enjoy the game. good family fun:)

No scientist has EVER said that global warming is caused by humans breathing out carbon dioxide & Alex only shows his own ignorance with statements like that. It has NOT being scientifically proven that carbon dioxide affects global temperature or weather, although plenty of scientists 'believe' that. It is funny that carbon dioxide, the "greenhouse gas" that humans exhale and plants use, has been singled out as an evil gas that must be stopped. If I was a human-hating eugenicist, I'd choose carbon dioxide too, laughing as a 'tax on breathing' is adopted globally.

But the scientists aren't talking about the co2 we breathe out! In fact fosil fuel co2 has a different chemical signiture & that's how they can tell how much is 'natural' (from life breathing & volcanoes etc) & what comes from burning dirty polluting fosil fuels!
