@MsIndigoLove no, I had tried the henna on loose hair and it had since then faded so the permanent dye took fine. But hell to the no to henna...I've had tooooo many bad experiences with it!

I semi-free form, I guess part is due to laziness because I can't stand to latch (the time it takes for me to do it) so I just latch 5/1 and the one before that was 1/1...I like the full look and I don't like the "scalpy" look after a retwist either.

@ltps3 I tried henna on loose hair and it was a total fail. Well the color took but it was nasty and messy as hell. Msfullroller gave me some tips on trying better brands of henna... you should hit her up, she got all the tips and tricks.

Yeah latching makes the locs more compact and they will not expand as much or be as thick at the roots as twisting or palmrolling. Thank you SO much for actually showing how to sew the locs together. 50 million people have said to combine this way without ever doing a tutorial showing how.
