First of all, this was 30 years ago. It was simple pilot error wile trying to make a short landing. Read the report from the CAA, if you can find a website outside the US, that is.

Simple fact of the matter is, the aggressive angle of approach was a suicide mission. Come in level and slowly touch down; or drop her down as hard as physically possible, as see how she holds up.

ether way the angle of approach in his video was a bit much, take your time be patient and fly upon the runways head on and level, touch down and safely land the plane.

but if you think you can fly into the ground and it still hold up harz1835 should get in a plane and try it his way.

1. this was at Farnborough which is one of the largest aircraft expo's on the planet.

2. the plane was specifically designed for STOL flight

3. given #1 above the pilot was trying to demonstrate those abilities. Unfortunately something went wrong.

@thepresident1981 remember planes are at the mercy of certain forces. aka momentum. if it was coming in fast towards the ground EVEN if he had a nose up attitude the planes momentum would have caused the aircraft to coniue jl'moving towards the griound......... and the pilot was an idiot for the fact that he was trying aerobactic manoevers in a, what is that, cargo?, charter?, aircraft... not that smart
