I upgraded to blu ray because of this and I was not disappointed in what they had to show. The colors look SOOO much better than the DVD versions. I almost thought about doing a comparison from my dvds and the blu ray.

I freaking love Star Trek! I did not pick this up on Tuesday, but I am definitely get it tomorrow. I can just sit down and watch Star Trek all day long. Like always great unboxing! Oh and by the way, I am thumbing this video down because you did not show us the video transfer. Haha I saw that comment and got a good laugh out of that. Two thumbs up for you, Pete. LOL, great ending. I've never really gotten into Star Trek, not that I don't like it, I've just never really sat down and watched it (I really liked the movie from a few years back). But one day I will watch some of the original and TNG. On a sidenote, a classic TV show that I have been watching (on Netflix) is the Mission: Impossible series. I'm a fan of the movies (especially 4), and I'm 10 episodes into the show and it's FANTASTIC. It's one of those shows that makes me feel like a kid. :)

Finally! Been waiting ever since the DVD set came out and passed on it until the Blu Ray release. Glad I waited and definitely getting EVERY SINGLE box set of THE Next Generation. Best show I watched growing up and watching every weekday during my high school years.

Man, I own the entire series on DVD and looks pretty decent...BUT I may need to look at the blu-ray set. Still, it'll cost a fortune...but I'll at least ponder it...LOL. Your review certainly seems to indicate it would be worth the upgrade.

@DeanOfDVD Definitely worth the upgrade based off the sampler PQ, in my opinion. You're right though, will empty the wallet for sure when the season's come out. :)

Yeah this looks very promising. Most shows edited in video stays as video but considering Star Trek: Next Generation is one the most popular sci-fi series it must be worth the investment in making this happen. I wonder if the same can be done with Deep Space Nine.

Awesome review, Pete, I loved the robots at the end, I haven't seen their channel before. =d I also loved how you went into details about the episodes. I haven't seen Next Generation, only some episodes of the original original Star Trek on G4, so I can't say I'm a huge Star Trek fan, however, how much does the the sampler cost? =d
