  • BEAUIFUL SILENT NIGHT--The most translated song in many languages--History of that song:Was writen in Austrian-German lenguage by Austrian Catholic priest and German Catholic priest compose it,before German religion war LUTHERISM when they broke away from VATICAN since then very few German stay Catholic..I do not know when was translated in English..Beautiful..SILENT NIGHT AND HOLY FAMILY IS NOT JUST A SONG IS SOMETHING SPECIAL--STAY FOR EVER...BEAUTIFUL..THAT IS THE HISTORY OF THAT SONG..

  • Relaxing Loveliness.... Every Night is a Holy Night, and all of us are Divine Children

  • i remember my mom singing this to me when i was a baby so that i would fall asleep. :)

  • my baby just now fell right to sleep i love jesus for my 2 gifts!

1.my life i am so thankful for.

2.my child i was blest with

Since my childhood, I religiously listen to this song at Christmas time, it always brings me the same relief and it helps me stand our rather mad world.

  • And I want to say that I dont want Christmas to end !

  • Merry Christmas and Happy new year !!! :D

  • I'm proud to be a Christian-Catholic. I noticed that when it's CHRISTmas day, people that aren't even Christians go to the church to celebrate the mass... I think it's WONDERFUL seeing that even they arent Christians, they visit the church to see our celebration. BUT ONE QUESTION, does that give us a sign that everyone is united when it comes to JESUS? Example, in other religions, if they celebrate their biggest feast, not everyone come to see it but when it's CHRISTMAS, I see other religions...

  • merry CHRISTmas everyone! Happy Birthday Jesus! HE IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON! CAN I GET AN AMEN!

  • @balletgirl21100 jezus was born in the summer

  • My Love to all.

  • Hold on, wasn't christmas originally a pagan festival? I swear the christians actually stole christmas from the pagans. Originally in fact, Christmas was merely a celebration of the end of the year.

  • 51 people hate Christmas

  • It doesn't matter if you are christian, jewish, atheist or any form of religion at all. Christmas is a time to spend with those who you love in your life. I myself am an atheist and indeed, Christmas is a Christian holiday but why should we not celebrate this day anyway?

    Merry Christmas everyone!

  • If you rearrange the letters in 'santa' you get 'satan.' and if thats not bad enough, 'old nick' is often refferred to as satan and saint nicolas is what 'santa' is sometimes reffered to. the devil works myseriously. for Christ lets not take him out of Christmas becuase its his birthday, not yours.

  • I hate that they do stuff like "Santa" to cover up the birth of Jesus. :(

  • Comment removed

  • NO ! Jesus was not "born to die on the cross' in His own words he said, "I CAME THAT YOU MAY HAVE LIFE AND HAVE IT MORE ABUNDANTLY". The crucifixion was a dramatic point that he passed through to demonstrate the beauty and victory known as RESURRECTION ! So so much is misunderstood about the teachings of the great Christ teacher, thanks to the control and spin put on it by RELIGION. Christ is FREEDOM based on TRUTH, religion is CONTROL based on MAN's INTERPRETATION...think about it !!!

  • Well said mikethevevegitable

  • God bless us everyone and a Mary Christmas!

  • People say Jesus isn't real, then explain how come celebrating His birth has the power to make 2 armies stop fighting and exchange gifts and sing songs?

  • So glad that God blessed me with faith to believe in God. I am rich today because of His Mercy and Love. All praise be to you Lord Jesus

  • Happy Birthday, Jesus! The light of Christ has come into the world! Alleluia! Amen!

  • Merry Christmas~

  • 'MYFANCY24"...YOUTUBE!!!!.....LOVE THIS SONG! :)

  • merry christmas !!!! 2011...

  • Well actually santa is an adaption of a real person and the aster bunny is an adaption of a godess of fertillity (hence the eggs /bunnies don't lay eggs) from an ancient religion around that time. But still people should realize that jesus is not only the reason for that day but for every day

  • Why is there a Santa on Christmas? Christmas is about celebrating Christ! Why is there an Easter bunny on Easter? Easter is about Christ forgiving our sins! People have to stop making up these fictional characters on special events!

  • @sonechka1999 Especially the stores that take the meaning out of Christmas.

  • I always celebrate Christmas scinc I -3 god always And forever

  • Actually.it started as a celebration of the sun turning.

  • To be honest i cannot stand animonsity between athiests and those who believe in a supreme being. Why cant eveyone get along and let each other believe what they want. There is too much pain in this world and if some people(myself included), wish to believe in Jesus Christ, and celebrate Christmas(we are told its the 25th Dec),not a specific date given in the bible. Christmas should be a time for love and being with those you love irrespective of belief.

  • @TheJimmyLamb you speak the truth man. i myself am agnostic and dont really believe in anything really and am kinda cautious but i agree that human beings should just get along and not let religion tear them apart. let people choose for themselves. celebrate what you want to celebrate. much respect to you my man

  • I'll say it again, I'm an atheist and I can't wait for Christmas! Let's all come together, my brothers and sisters! Thumbs up if you agree that we should :)

  • @MetrazolElectricity

Can you please tell me, why you can´t wait for Christmas? I guess cause of the gifts you get? If you´re an atheist, what are you celebrating then if not Christ´s birth? Cause atheist aren´t believers and they shouldn´t celebrate Christmas..

  • @crotiffany I'm not so sure you're familiar with the concept of secularism. If you had been, I'm sure for it to sustain everyone has to appreciate the festive spirit, not just one religious community. Imagine a country where where Christianity isn't a majority, and therefore you don't get a holiday on Christmas. You would be delighted that your employer is calling you to the office just because he isn't a Christian and isn't celebrating Christmas, wouldn't you?

  • @crotiffany Of course I'm not celebrating the birth of jesus. That would be silly. I'm celebrating the christmas spirit, the gifts, the family coming together, the general sense of brotherhood and sisterhood that pervades the world. See, whereas a narrow-minded fundamentalist like you wants to highlight our differences on Christmas, a loving atheist like me wants us all to be one.

  • @MetrazolElectricity Christmas was not meant for giving out presents or meeting up with family what matters is that you love them and they love you. its not about how much presents or money you give its about loving a caring in a world like this. Merry Christmas from California :)

  • @PoptartPatrick Exchanging presents is a wonderful christmas ritual which in no way should be equated to greed or materialism. It's showing you care, it's seems the twinkle in a child's eyes as he tears open a present. Don't undermine the role of gifts with platitudes about non-materialism, my friend. Merry xmas from Washington! :P

  • <3 :D

  • it's AMAZING (y)

  • Checkout my 3 language version of silent night (it is shared above, as video responses). Hope you'd like it.

  • @ugersay1 For it's quality.

  • God THANK YOU

  • @supersierragirl1234 thank the men who created god or else we wouldn't have this beautiful holiday!

  • better then the german version again.. hach i love it

  • Oh goodness what is it with people in fighting, this is a happy song about a happy holiday when everyone is suppose to come together and be caring and forgiving, It doesn't matter who celebrates it and its no one's business but that person have we forgotten this already? Geez makes me worry about the future and I am only 15!

  • @SiStersOFthe80s ur rascist

  • i love christmast........Because it brings every joy to every people in this world when Jesus was born the king was trying to kill him so let us pray to Jesus that he is not been killed.....

  • The choir versions are so much better.

  • I believe we shudnt just wait for Xmas.. i believe xmas is every day!!! god bless all....love from Srilanka...<3

  • @marieanneLOVE1 xmas isnt evrday..xmas is when Jesus was born..christmas is 25 dec

  • @angelzskunk A very important reason not to use the shortened version of the word "CHRISTmas" "Xmas" just doesn't belong :) Merry Christmas Angel....

  • @midulceamor57 oh yeah :)

  • @angelzskunk .. i know you don't have to be rude here....

  • I had this song stuck in my head the hole day today!!!! Good song

  • xmas time is comin xD

  • I'm atheist too!I love christmas and I'm from malaysia

  • the sound is like a mother or grandmother..

    very peaceful voice

  • i just wanna get high tonight

  • Oh my. Ok the comment about only americans celebrating Christmas was stupid. Christmas is for Christians no matter where they live. There is nothing wrong with being caring toward oneanother, and I could understand parents wanting to give their children gifts (especially when all their friends are getting them) even if they are not Christian. However to simply celebrate Christmas for recieving gifts in this case is wrong. I wouldnt celebrate another religons holday no matter how cool it is!

  • Christians dont celebrate Hunakkah because they have different beliefs. So although Christmas is a widely observed holiday because most people are Christian, does not make it everyones holiday. It is a religious holiday so peopleof Christian faith have every right to be upset when it is turned into something else. It comes from the word Christ for crying out loud, so the belief of Jesus is VERY important!

  • oh....christmas has come again!!...i can't wait for that day!!..MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL CHRISTIAN!!..GB!.

  • Comment removed

  • I'm atheist and I can't wait for xmas!

  • @MetrazolElectricity Me too. And i even go to church, but only that one time when they play this song in complete darkness and incredibly soft while the whole church sings along :) We have a great choir there.....

  • @andromedarr That's really cool! Yeah, there's an innocent spirit of love and gentleness about silent night and churches do have an old-world beauty that makes me feel nostalgic for and reminds me of childhood

  • @MetrazolElectricity me too and i love christmas songs that mention the birth of jesus.lol

  • @MetrazolElectricity I'm sorry, but it's called CHRISTMAS.

We celebrate this day because of the birth of Christ.

So in my opinion if you are atheist you shouldn't celebrate it....

Because the day is to celebrate CHRIST.

  • Comment removed

  • @EnchantedTower

we don't give a shittt about jesus motherfucking christ

we are here to enjoy the song

  • @EnchantedTower not exactly, that's the religion behind it. it's original meaning was cus of an ancient feasting holiday.. just the romans turned it into something for christians.. and it's more than just the religious aspect.. so let the person be.

  • @EnchantedTower What if your an atheist, your name is Chris T. and Christmas is your birthday?

  • @EnchantedTower Look, I'm sorry but I am an Atheist and I celebrate it because I believe it to be a holiday of Loving and Giving. So you saying I should celebrate it because I not celebrating the 'birth' of some phony god. I listen to this song because it brings me peace, I don't care what you say. I'm going celebrate it and that's final! I don't give a fuck about some person who never existed!!!

  • @EnchantedTower Fun Fact: Jesus wasn't actually born on Christmas (They changed it) it was originally a holiday feast. PLUS Christmas isn't just about celebrating Jesus, its about peace and living as one. Not forcing Atheist to not celebrate Christmas.

  • @larsonkeenan I know Jesus wasn't born on christmas, but that's what I learned, and I'm going to honor it. We still celebrate his birth on Christmas day anyways.

  • @EnchantedTower That's just plain rude... And to the idiots that gave a thumbs up to that comment you should be ashamed of yourselves...

Christmas is a time for everyone to celebrate and love one another, and as a Christian you should be happy for that and not discriminate against other faiths... Or have you forgotten what our Saviour has taught us...

    "Love thy neighbor as thyself..."

  • @densetsuhadouken116 that's right. God says that we should love our neighbors just as much as we love ourselves

  • @EnchantedTower Christmas isn't really the celebration of Christ's birth in modern day. It's now so commercialised and money-driven. Anyway, Jesus wasn't even born in December, the date was taken by Constantine in the transition to Christianity in Roman Times, the old day of the sun god

  • @EnchantedTower Honey, it's time to jump into the 21st century. Everybody celebrates Christmas because of gifts, getting together with family, and Santa Claus. If you ask most children, and even teens, they probably would have no idea why you truely celebrate Christmas. It shouldn't be limited to just, "It was Christ's birth, if you don't believe don't celebrate". It should be, "If you enjoy being with your family and spreading Christmas joy, then enjoy this holiday."

    =]

  • @DrFeelGood6667 YES ! Christmas should be a Celebration because Jesus himself was a great partier who loved to have a good time, truth ! That's why the religious authorities HATED him, they were such CONTROL FREAKS (and always will be!) and let's face it, having a good time with family and friends opens you up ,making you LESS succeptable to control , heheh Jesus approves :-)

  • @MetrazolElectricity Why in the world would you even bother commenting...just pass on by. For pete's sake!!!

  • @midulceamor57 hmm ok so youre the fundamentalist gay-hating japhethite-mentality christian... well, my message was for the gentle all-embracing jesus-following christians. The former kind can just jump off a cliff for all i care.

  • @MetrazolElectricity Dont celebrate the holiday.....

  • @TehNeepbeepbop123 miserable bastard

  • @dan333onlyhalfevil The point is to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ ._.

  • Comment removed

  • @TehNeepbeepbop123 no offence but i couldnt care less about jesus.

for me its a time where i see my entire family, there's less work ad everyone enjoys themselves.

  • @TehNeepbeepbop123

    Yes they do.

  • @TehNeepbeepbop123 why do you say it?

  • @MetrazolElectricity umm why?

    i dont understand

  • @minecraft2400 Because of the way Christmas is celebrated. Despite what some people may insist, jesus is not the reason for the season. It's about the lights, the presents, the family, the songs, the tree...the general feeling of love and friendship that pervades America. Moreover, you will many people other faiths also get into the Christmas spirit, in places like India, Malaysia, etc. If xmas was strictly about jesus-stuff, it wouldn't be so popular.

  • @MetrazolElectricity Christmas has always been celebration of Christ's birth-only now (within the last century) has the world turn it into a gift focused period. Since other faiths are celebrating that day for gift giving and spending time with family, they aren't truly celebrating Christmas. They only celebrate "Christmas" as a reason to get together. It's not focused on Christ at all. And frankly, that's sad because no other "deity" has done what Christ did for the world.

  • @lenoresun Well, your belief in the exceptionalism of jesus christ is sort of value judgement that is heavily influenced by the faith you were raised in. A Hare Krishna may be of another opinion, and a jew maybe of yet another. So let's leave it at that. As for Christmas, you do realize many of the traditions like the tree, the 25th december date have been derived from pagan traditions. This is not a matter of opinion, its historical fact. Lastly, the "truly celebrating" bit is again opinion.

  • @MetrazolElectricity I understand what you said re: items/traditions of Christmas-just like Halloween started from All Saints Day celebration in the early Christian church, yet most Christians now don't want to be linked to that day. I agree because it celebrates Satan. However, celebrating Christ on Christmas isn't just an opinion. His name is in Christmas. Again, you can use that day to generically give gifts, but the birth of Christ is the meaning and reason it exists.

  • @lenoresun Halloween has nothing to do with celebrating Satan. it a holiday to scare off the bad spirits. that's why people dress up as scary monsters. its supposed to scare off demons or something. but i would've guessed it was Satan's holiday too.

  • @shootingstar912 Demonic spirits aren't scared of humans if you don't believe in Christ; only through Christ do humans receive the power to rebuke evil spirits. Halloween celebrates Satan and all he represents-death. Satan only kills, steals and destroys and is the father of all lies. Unless people are enlightened by a Christian, it's hard for people to get it because the world is full of darkness everyday, not just on Halloween, but Christ overcame the world. Christ is King.

  • @lenoresun Christ isn't a deity. He is the Son of God who died for our sins. I suppose it did begin in the 1900s. Santa Claus is a 20th Century marketing tool, very successful business practice. In many ways, I agree with EnchantedTower. I don't celebrate Hanukkah, I don't fast during Ramadan. I celebrate Christmas. Because I believe in Christ.

  • @lenoresun jezus was born in the summer

  • @MetrazolElectricity in your comment you say general feeling of love, that my friend is Jesus, he's everlasting love. He's my savior and can be you savior if you let Him in your heart and life. So you see Jesus is the reason for the season.

  • @MetrazolElectricity

    Me too, I'm Atheist

  • @001ttg Cheers!

  • @MetrazolElectricity If you can't wait for Christmas this also means that you cannot wait for the coming of our savior Jesus Christ! Believe Him!

  • I love christmas so much, It's my favorite holiday! It's so peaceful<3

  • @8199ashley its about GOd who made i love him christian is a relationship he is real its no religion

  • @SiStersOFthe80s Yes you are,you went out of your way to find a comment that didn't seem right to you. Flipping through page by page of comments on Youtube looking to start stuff. There is no point since you can't even see it at the top page. Putting religion down would be to insult buddhism, you are just switching everything around to make it look negative. Calm down and deal with it. Stop trying to prove a point when there is none. Were cool now.Merry Christmas, now leave old posts alone.

  • @SiStersOFthe80s that was 2 months ago and it was just a little comment. I'm not talking nonsense about any religion now settle down silly............
