  • the guy cant even count, he did 6 turns and confused himself by talking

  • i like how people are so arrogant that they think they know exactly how the world works claiming "this breaks physics!" when really they should be saying "my prediction was wrong! maybe i should re-evaluate my preconceived notions of the word."

  • @mahmahrooeejee

    Lighten the hell up.

  • imposibru!

  • I'm pretty sure the dyes in there has no effect at all on the viscosity of the layers. ...

    just kidding.

  • Mind = blown.

  • I did this in 6th grade.

  • @IsFakeAndGay why do you think anyone gives a fuck kid?

  • Are you a wizard?

  • Oh no... You've upset God...

    Quick, let's sacrifice some virgins!

  • @TheRosefisted have you got any virgins to sacrifice?

  • This is getting fixed next patch...

  • thumbs down if you happened upon here

  • You'll notice he had to an extra reverse spin because he didn't count the rotation frm 1:10 - 1:17.

  • mechanical engineering

  • Engineering?! How about thumbs up if you're studying physics.

  • While what your are showing us is the effect of laminar flow, you have failed to actually show laminar flow. A camera angle perpendicular to the circumference of your vessel would be adequate.

  • if he had continued spinning it back, the coloured liquids would go back into their injections. Eventually he would go back to being a baby. True story.

  • WHERE IS YOUR GOD NOW?

  • What's Laminar?

    Damn you stumbleupon.

  • thats so cool

  • SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY

  • Is that transparent liquid the water or the syrup?

  • @Athasish Its a highly viscous fluid, most likely a form of Glycol

  • @Athasish I don't think its either, too clear to be corn syrup i would think, and the corn syrup die he injected wouldn't just hang there like that if it was water. It is probably something close to the consistency of corn syrup though..

  • That's amazing, but then again I'm not really adept in fluid dynamics...

  • this is so fake :O if it was real then he'd have a big beard and a funny accent :D go Aerospace Engineering!

  • Thumbs up if you noticed that he rotated it six times instead of five

  • Its not fake, its a simple example of laminar flow.

  • BURN THE WITCH!!!

  • yeah so im doin a p. chem lab report on viscosity and i totally did not see this coming. junk's is awesome

  • Thumbs up if you are studying aerospace or mechanical engineering.

  • @TheRVP11 or chemical engineering! ;)

  • omg, beauty of nature

  • even "god's" mind is BLOWN

  • A system cannot go from disorder back to ordered even with that 'open system' of energy. Hmm...

  • @quantumcahill its not "disorder" or "chaos". the laminar flow means the layers slide over each other and do not mix. they are just shifted. when he turns the crank one direction, some layers of fluid (its not water) move faster and hence further than others. there are so many layers it looks mixed. but when it is reversed, they move the same distance in the opposite direction, and the fluid returns to its original state. so the layers were ordered the whole time!

  • @quantumcahill That's because the system was never really disordered, just "stretched".

  • @audas But if you add wheat, you eff the whole thing up.

  • I wish my diarrhea worked like that.

  • I'm sorry but you aren't allowed to do this.

  • It's black magic!

  • Burn this sorcerer!

  • Yer a wizard Harry!

  • @zzzIdividedbyzerozzz and a thumpin' good one I'd wager!

  • utter heresy. priest, hand me the brand.

  • My brain exploded.

  • RGB - red green blue, if he had of put yellow in there it would not have worked.

You can do the same thing with rice, corn and barley.

  • They did like 7 turns before saying five XD

  • @GillyNotKingofPhilly and how exactly is it fake?

  • @GillyNotKingofPhilly Nope. Science.

  • @Froggy711 its clearly magic

  • BURN THE WITCH!!!!

  • Fake ... everyone knows colour doesn´t exist !

  • WITCH!

  • Lol. All that brain and he can't count past 5. :)

  • I wonder if the process was done quicker would the Irreversibility still exist?

  • @physjim nope

  • @kenny8331 yeah i thought so. Watching how slowly he rotates this thing comes to mind a significant aspect of reversable processes; they are at all times in thermodynamical equillibrium and in order for that to happen the process must be done comparatively slowly

  • @physjim you just cant let them mix

  • @physjim If the process is done slow enough to retain laminar flows, it will be reversible. If the speed increases enough to cause turbulent flows, then it will no longer be reversible.

  • its fluid reversibility part 5

  • yeah this is real. i have my own video of this and im a high school student. check them out. look my video up

    (fluid reversibility part 1 - 5)

  • This is real you morons. Learn your physics and get over it.

  • They should have posted another video that is taped from above (or below)...

  • Comment removed

  • fake !

  • @paulme33 it's not, low reynolds numbers flow is time reversible

  • Amazing stuff. Very cool.

  • nice :))

  • SCIENCE. YEAH. :-)

  • This is not a fake. I think it is amazing and it shows an extreme amount of creativity and intelligence to even come up with this. No more criticisms from people who obviously don't know enough about the subject.

  • Red sperm

  • WITCHES D:

  • i dont know if you noticed but it looks very fake look at the left hand when he starts moving it moves again at last of the video an the guy stirring at first he puts his other hand on the table witch is erased at the end of the video with a brighter tone than that of the table you can also note that the movement of the colours is the same but in backwards

  • @michealrofail I don't know if you noticed, but you didn't use a single full stop in your comment, so I have no idea what you were trying to say.

Laminar flow is a proven physical phenomenon...

  • @MeOnStuff there not any full stops because my english isnt very good i am not disagreeing with the "physical phenomenon" i just think that this video is fake

  • @michealrofail Why would anyone fake a video about a real phenomenon? Makes no sense. The video is real.

  • @MeOnStuff great thats your opinion mine is different solved

  • @michealrofail We aren't dealing with opinions. We're dealing with facts.

  • @OniLinkPlus you are... define facts what is a fact everything is theoretical and could change at any time no matter how many times it was proven

  • @michealrofail Let's say you take a drink of water. Are you saying that it is not a fact that you just took a drink of water? Despite feeling it run down your throat? Despite feeling it in your mouth? Despite the chill you might get if it were too cold?

Are you saying that it is not a fact that you posted your response to me within 30 minutes of me responding back? Your comment doesn't exist?

  • @OniLinkPlus sorry like this the argue will never end i get bored so thats enough :)

  • it looks like its just an illution from the glass...

  • BURN HIM AT THE STAKE!!

  • Fucking laminar flow, how does it work?

And I don't wanna talk to a scientist

Y'all motherfuckers lying, and getting me pissed

  • BURN THEM AT THE STAKE!!

  • 123456

  • The Reynolds number, R, is the dimensionless combination:

    R=ρνR/η

in which ρ is the density, ν the speed of fluid, R the size of the flow, and η the viscosity.

fluid with low Reynolds number will perform such laminar flow.

  • SCIENCE!

  • ooo look at me i play cool, i say 5 times but it didnt work oooooooooo

    YOU FAIL STUPID NOOB!!

  • It's caled, "Backward video play" :)

  • He's a warlock! BURN HIM!

  • thats a great lub guys

  • witchcraft

  • I don't get why people would think this is fake...it's supposed to demonstrate laminar flow.

"The apparatus, called a "Couette Cell," was developed by John DeMoss and Dr. Kevin Cahill, and uses dyed corn syrup to demonstrate how a fluid with a sufficiently low Reynolds number will flow along distinct paths in parallel layers (like fanning a deck of cards), thereby preventing disruption of the fluid." - Robert T. Gonzalez (from io9)

Actually, the link in the description tells you everything.

  • It isnt a reverse of the video. If you watch the drop on the outside, it keeps going down if you skip around you will see. So this may be a hoax, but it isn't the video just being reversed.

  • Nice but... Will it blend?

  • @evilpatrik I think the video just proved that it will NOT blend!

  • What is the actual purpose of this apparatus ... ?

  • time machine

  • Wow. this is amazing!

  • Reversed the video

  • this guy should become a barista

  • You've stopped the time!

...dependent term, the time dependent term in a limited context with a controlled experiment. Actually, you just decreased it to be really small, enough to mostly reverse a process that made it look like entropy increased when it really didn't.

  • I bet this guy makes a mean Tequila Sunrise.

  • You did this but you cant count??

  • You have made the ghost of Humpty Dumpty very sad.

  • I learned this! Go #engineering!

  • what the hell @_@

  • WHAT!

  • This guy sucks at mixing stuff. That koolaid is gonna taste terrible

  • VISCOSITY, YOU CAN'T EXPLAIN THAT

  • WALLHAX BAN THIS FAGGOT

  • Is that a hand-crank time machine

because that's what it seems like

  • @olllj Yes, because it totally looked the same at the end as it did at the start. Retard.

  • @olllj lol well you must of gone to university... congratulations your an idiot

  • @jimmyPain2121 Learn the difference between "your" and "you're", before you mock the university system.

  • im stoned

  • @fuckingfuckfuckfuckf

same and it blew my mind watching this

  • WHAT SORCERY IS THIS?

  • try and picture the coloured liquids as rubber, or another elastic solid, and then you might understand how it works a little better.

  • OMG!?!?!!? was that dustin hoffman?

  • Invents amazing apparatus Can't count to 5

  • @yourlivingroom 6.5 forward, 6.5 reversed. The other guy was counting. I still believe this is fake tho

  • that is fuckin awesome

  • fuck new mexico

  • What? Can't be what I just saw. Really? Wow.

  • He just went back in time.

    And he sucks at counting.

  • vaya es cierto?

  • Their is a local band in my city that has a song called laminar flow. i had to come check this out.

  • OMG! My brain just fu**d up , how in the world did he do that!!

  • Is that water or syrup?

  • @DementedPingu corn syrup good sir.

  • @13371v1457312 Thank you good sir :D

  • Superman did this with the ENTIRE EARTH.

  • i just jizzed in my pants

  • Is this how the universe works?

  • Holy shitballs. But I think that may be better called Stokes flow if Re<1.

  • @93MickyD1 Why so angry? I apologize, I miscounted. 6.5 turns.

  • @HUNNAI9095

You can use any liquid with a high viscosity. I did it with corn syrup and it worked really well

  • thumbs up if 'stumble upon' took you to this video

  • Comment removed

  • WHAAAAT wow. i love these little demonstration videos.

  • yo what container u stired them n

plss i ned as soon as possible

  • i'm gonna sue my college for not teaching that Laminar flows are indeed reversible .. what a shame my college supposed to be best engg college

  • May I ask what is the initial liquid in the jar before the coloured corn syrup was added? It seemed it had a thick consistency, kind of like gel. What is it?

  • @TKflyer You mean, 6.5 turns, right? Looks like the guy in the video isn't the only one who can't count.

  • thumbs up if you have actually studied fluid mechanics and know the science

  • It would be sweet if we had a handle that can reverse entropy like this as well.

  • I'm not sure what laminar flow is, but I'd like to know, because this looks cool. Can someone explain?

  • será???????

  • he rotated it 7 times... what a retard...

  • @romanianskill Get the fuck over it. It's still cool.

  • @ZaingerMakante it's cool if you're stupid enough to think it's real... you retard

  • @romanianskill

    Of course it's real, dummy.

  • @romanianskill how does that make him retarded, exactly?

  • @tatumcricket because he says he's going to rotate it 5 times, and counts 5 rotations, but he rotates it 7 times. you've got to be of a retard for that to happen, he was very specific about the number 5 as well...

you just didn't get it tatumcricket, you're more retarded than the guy in this video. make sure your support worker is with you AT ALL TIMES, you never know when you might need help.

  • FAG (fake and gay)

  • @MrJarbuckle U R FAKE AND GAY

SCIENCE IS KOOL AND EH DOESN'T AFRAID OF ANYTHING

  • can they be other colors?

  • @ilovefunnyvideos216 Yeah, color doesn't affect anything

  • @ilovefunnyvideos216 Toddler alert!
