WWI was terrible, But WWII was one huge atrocity and all leaders involved were war criminals. Stalin was the worst. Who gained from those two wars in which we were duped into commiting mutual suicide? Those who ptofitted are the real evil.
This is such a touching story..soldiders are soldiers and all of them have the same problems and needs. This is how it is 90% of the time..soldiers do not want to kill eachother but they are forced to by their authorities.
Good thing this day has its own memorial. If only more people could work up the courage not to care about what the higher ups and their respective propaganda says.. :(
It is true that when we speak about Zionism that it not be with hatred of the Jews. This because, Jesus Christ opposed Zionism before it existed, and was born as a Jew himself. The present day struggle is a continuation of the war against Jesus Christ, the Creator of all things(Daniel 7:13-14) It's a continuation of the war waged by the Pharisees, against God, before and after Christ's Resurrection, because Christ was and IS a threat to their power structure.
This video shows the power of Jesus Christ. When men trade their way of life to become as , Jesus the Christ(Image of the Invisible God Colossians 1:15) , we can be healed by the Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6) The war that exists in this world is in reality a spiritual war. The evil kings of the earth against the souls of man, foremost against God himself.
Here's a crucial point in the war waged by Satan and followers against God's Kingdom:
"No doubt some folks enjoy doing battle, like presidents, prime ministers, and kings. So lets all build them shelves where they can fight among themselves, and leave the people be who want to sing." Bobby Darin
@MaabudZ That's a nice phrase to give us good conscience. It's easy to put the blame on the politicians. Yet who is it who elects them? In fact, politicians usually make great efforts to calm down conflicts. Between 1900 and 1914, in many occasions, Europe had been on the verge of war, and leaders had managed to avoid it. Same in the 1930s, when only Hitler and Mussolini wanted a war – and remember they came from the working classes.
People always complain about how the idea of a God and Religion causes death and destruction. Well,on that day in 1914 the idea of God and a savior caused men to stop killing each other.
@xxdonaldqxxx you know what? thats a great point but ppl can use God and religion for murderous, psychotic reasons or they can use it for love, beauty, mankind and for peace. but religion def isnt all bad. Christmas is a day that seems to transcend even religion now. its a day of peace and love for all. i love this show of respect and friendship though. what a great story tho that young men ignored their superiors and broke bread with their "enemy" during a terrible war.
And now even Christmas trees are banned from public spaces - by the same people who brought about WWI and WWII.
First they got us to destroy each other, now they are destroying the what's left through, consumerism, 'hate speech' laws, feminism, 'human rights', corrupt courts, their satanic mass media, Hollywood, abortion, equality, emigraiton .....
@Matthysable Yeah, but people are waking up, and those responsible who didn't learn their lesson all those years ago will live to be brought to justice!
we need to come togeter as common men. and have a truce. that no common men are killed anymore for the elite and NWO! because we have been played! and i am sick of it! Merry CHRISTmas everybody!
what a great story, but how sad was it that after converging with the enemy enjoying some bread and beer and getting to know them a little they decided to continue the war...why not just walk away...mutual feeling of "we had enough" shake hands and walk away, both sides go home to your family's alive and show the world what real men are capable of..
@ShOwStOpp3rr because they would have been executed for treason if they "walked away". you think they were fighting because they wanted to and didn't want to go home? watch "Joyeux Noel"a movie based upon this event.
Impossible. Remember, the high officers did NOT want this Christmas Truce. Should they have decided they would go home, they would be shot by superiors, and should they make it home, declared deserters and probably executed for desertion.
@kriddie88 that makes sense,i thought it was more men that was involved in the truce and therefore wouldnt dare executing them,it would cause an outrage..i still have a hard time believing they'd execute 100 of their own men,but maybe theyd make an example of out them i dunno..i think if it was 500 per side theyd let it go..
it still goes down as one of the greatest war story's ever told..
@OldSkaterGuy What made it easier for those men were the fact that the British and their German counterparts had a common faith between them. Its different today because the US and Britain's enemies are non-Christian, which does not necessarily means a lack of humanity or common decency mind you, but between people of different faiths it take a level of trust and humanity that I fear all too much that we have forgotten in the 21st Century.

For these men WW1 started because of the murder of some Austrian noble (Archduke Franz Ferdinand) as a vengeance to Serbia. Then Russia defends Serbia; Russia and France were Allies as Austria-Hungary and Germany were Allies then England joins France and Russia as Italy joins Germany and Austria-Hungary: A World War. My point is:

To me, this was one of the most moving moments of the 20th century. Within the horrors of trench warfare, a truce was called on Christmas 1914. Many don't realize that it happened, but it did. Exchanging chocolate, cigarettes, food, drink, and even friendly soccer games was just incredible. Generals were horrified back in warm headquarters but in the trenches humanity reigned for a few hours. Stunning.
Man the spirit of Christamas is strong..i mean im a ex gang member but i love history lol..true story..anyways when i see this it chokes me up also makes me realize how ignorant we can be by doing the most dumbest things possible.I mean these men here were fighting a real war unlike my street wars i was fighting and im happy to say im getting my ridiculous tattoos removed and becoming a better person.my point is that even the strongest willed can be tamed by the love of Christmas.i love you all.

@shadowpriestsable I dont know you, But id like to say well done on changeing your life around from the gang culture, and remembering our servicemen who gave their lifes for their country.. If your a good man people will respect you more, Merry christmas Stranger, Silent night.
A moment of to said thank's to the gentleman. That had the courage not to kill each other on that day. As a war vet myself, I belived that i law of war should be written on the days of 24-25 no military opertions should be held. no moving of troop's only to feed line troop's removed the wound and buried the dead. to me thses are two day's out of a year that everybody should feel safe and enjoy life, and say thier amen's to thier god's.
@rickellis1000 yes, but not everyone in the world has these beliefs. Not every nation celebrates Christmas. Nor should they have to. They should be able to worship who they choose. It was a great thing these men did but unfortunately like the video said, "it has not happened again since" and it never will.
My third cousin was Sgt. Alvin York, the famous US soldier who captured 132 Germans in WWI, he was a hero to most, but he did not want to be there, tried to get a conciencious objector, but to no avail. His religious convictions were not to kill another human being. Yet he accepted the terms of his being sent to Germany to fight. It was war. I would have loved to know that on that front in Germany on Christmas, he could have experienced something so poignant as this. Peace to All...
It is so sad that us europeans have been killing each so much other the past century. when now we face the true enemy - islam, muslims, niggers invading our countrys in the form of "immigration" and spreading their backwards ways and hating us.
When you watch documentaries about these wars, it;s always good to know that peace always outlasts war, no conflict can go on forever. It's so sad for these boys, they thought the war was nearly over. instead, three full years of fighting in trnch hell followed.
my great grandfather told me of stories on the western front. this was one of them. he made a friend in germany he visited before the nazis came to power.
We may be soldiers in the field.... But overall we are all still men. Im enlisting when im done school. Maybe I'll find more of a reason to fight. The men of 1914 were truly inspirational.
I remember my great grandfather telling me during the christmas truce in Belgium,. no matter what their country is or differences, they all believed in Football.
@Gringolico They were Scottish *and* British, Britain and England aren't the same thing.
Anyway, on the British side there were also Welsh and English regiments involved in the truce, it's just that the Scots are a little more well known for it because of a funny letter written by a German officer about the truce and his troops trying to get a look under kilts, which were still worn in battle right up until mustard gas made it... Impractical.
@NextGenRev Everywhere I cross the border, to the south, west, east north- west whereever, I am greeted with a smile. A lot has changed. I am very thankful for that. And if we can establish something like peace Europe, we can at least try to establish peace on Earth. Have faith, some day we will look upon our history and think "why on Earth there was war!"
@sam9116 yea i absolutely agree with you, its just, when you think about the amount of nukes and hydrogen bombs we have today, with all these 'advanced' warfare killing machines still being built it makes you wonder where humanity as a whole is heading towards.
Fuck those incompetent "leaders". Sending other people do fight their childish disputes for them. Yeah you may sent thousands upon thousands of "expendables" into the frontline to fight for something they might not even agree on, but always remember that those "expendables" still have a soul.
War is a cowardly escape from the problems of peace. ~ Thomas Mann
A gentlemans war for sure, Not Treason as Jimmyxx3 says, they just had respect enough to cease fire for Christmas,If your a Christian you would know the meaning by which it stands.Besides, to even stop a war like those guys were having , just a ceasefire for 10 minutes would have been a well worth rest.R.I.P to both sides , LEST WE FORGET.
@ripwig "Poor men to be a pawn and know it, to know the men your trying to kill are just like you what a nightmare. we are lucky."
= Lucky? What is lucky about living through a global financial crisis, a toxic environmental breakdown, global War on Terror and the cost of food, water and energy going up every other day?
We're being backed into a corner and you say we are LUCKY
A true tail of humanity. At around same time, in december 1914 Germans committed the first major war crime in WWI, by executing 6000 Russian pows. One month prior to that in Machva, in then northwestern Serbia, Austrians and Croat volunteers were hanging Serbian civilians and pows. So humanity is reserved only for those whom you feel akin with.
Exactly the same things happend on the Eastern Front, especially four years later in 1917/18, short time before Russia left the Allied side because of the Revolution. Germans, Austrians, Russians, Poles, Hungarians and Czechs exchanged cigarettes and played football. Several leading commanders wailed about "being entireley unable to continue the offensive"...very impressing, very sad as well
@applelemonhead3345 The Americans where implicated in that war, you know that right? On another note, amazing story! You guys should read the Fall of Giants by Ken Follett! Such a great book!
Germany should of won ww1 (wouldnt of been so bad), certain private banking familys that had been loyal to germany untill that time promised to get america involved in the war in return for provinces in the middle east , ensuring instability in that regeon for the future,
@kakaroobart Golly, you're either 6 years old, or a product of the American education system! On the basis of your grammar and spelling, I certainly wouldn't define you as literate.
true story if people didnt know hitler didnt want any part of it thats what pissed him off that the german troops were eating and playing soccer and all that stuff with the enemy its Trajan
@TheGermanMJ94 Officially, Both the German's and English fired pistols into the air to mark the start of the feuding again. So the whole "who started the fighting again" crap is just that.....crap.
goodness. its so crazy how us americans in school learn about the civil war and our own wars and stuff, but almost all countries have this world war in their history books. it must have been so horrible. complete chaos throughout the world.
the US didn't enter the war until april 1917 and lost huge numbers of men over the next 19 months. I find it hard to believe you don't teach it in your curriculum. SHOCKING
I adore this.

This is proof that the first world war was just between the rulers of nations.

@rickellis1000 Ramadan too? The majority of people on this planet are not gooey sentimental over the 4th day after winter solstice.
catchersmitt0 2 months ago
@catchersmitt0 Leave it alone, then. Let us celebrate Christmas and enjoy this amazing video without your "4th day after winter solstice" crap.

@rickellis1000 Amen.
PrincessofPie 2 months ago

We may be soldiers in the field.... But overall we are all still men. Im enlisting when im done school. Maybe I'll find more of a reason to fight. The men of 1914 were truly inspirational.

@PlatypusOmelette You know Hitler was WWII right? Although he did fight as an ordinary soldier in this war.

@MrGeorgFTW Yes but Hitler was angry when he witnessed the Christmas Truce. He hated it. Talk about radical.

Gringolico 6 months ago
@Gringolico They were Scottish *and* British, Britain and England aren't the same thing.
Anyway, on the British side there were also Welsh and English regiments involved in the truce, it's just that the Scots are a little more well known for it because of a funny letter written by a German officer about the truce and his troops trying to get a look under kilts, which were still worn in battle right up until mustard gas made it... Impractical.
The Germans won the football game 3-2 as usual.

@NextGenRev actually things did change, now Europeans stopped killing each other didn't they
sam9116 2 months ago
@sam9116 yea i absolutely agree with you, its just, when you think about the amount of nukes and hydrogen bombs we have today, with all these 'advanced' warfare killing machines still being built it makes you wonder where humanity as a whole is heading towards.

Fuck those incompetent "leaders". Sending other people do fight their childish disputes for them. Yeah you may sent thousands upon thousands of "expendables" into the frontline to fight for something they might not even agree on, but always remember that those "expendables" still have a soul.

Vlajko1312 9 months ago

sumps1998 9 months ago
@sumps1998
