@urbanlex o sorry im only 16 and i dont mean 2 make u look old but i havent heard of any breakers in da old days. ive only heard of rappers like melle mel and schoolly d. groups like da furious 5 and treacherous 3. and producers like marley marl and kool herc. i dont think breakers r really remembered
@rakimkoolgrapwutang I find it funny that you say you only 16 and you don't mean 2 make anyone look old. But when we were kids just like you, we never said that and we look up to the older people and we couldn't wait to get older. So we could go to the Hip Hop events. And their is a lot of B-Boys AKA Breakers or Breakdancers look them up Crazy Leges. Just remember and tell all your friends everything you See, Hear or anything that has to do with Hip Hop and some rap now a days WE were the FIRST.
You can tell KMD can freestyle freely without having anything wrote or in his mind, he pretty much was the best, however RUN DMC's title cannot be taken period.
CLASSIC LEGENDS FOR REAL I LOVE IT. I REMEMBER DANCING TO THERE MUSIC WHEN I WAS CHILD WOW.. BRINGS ME BACK. SEE PEOPLE WHAT YOU HAVE HERE IS HIP-HOP. NO AUTO TUNE NO GHOST WRITERS THEY ALL HAD THERE OWN STYLE . NO BLOOD AND CRIPS , GORILLA'S AND ETC. ALL THEY NEED BACK THEN WAS A SIMPLE BEAT AND THERE LYRICS ALONE SET IT OFF. NOW A DAYS ITS VICE-VERSA . HOT BEAT WHACK LYRICS THAT IS WHAT PEOPLE CALL HIP HOP NOW, WOW . IS HIP-HOP DEAD LADIES AND GENTLEMEN?
I was hoping to see this again in my life. I taped it off tv back in 85 or 86. The breakin scenes are all over youtube and people should check the NYC breakers out from this same show. It was a pilot show and was never picked up by anyone.
Graffiti Rock and the Hip Hop World. Damn...now that brought it back right there...7th grade. This show only came on like once or twice and I think this was the pilot episode. I think they had a breakdance battle between the Rock Steady Crew and the NYC Breakers on here too if I remember correctly.
Many of assholes in todays they don't know about kool moe dee. The true legend of hip hop who went through many of battles to stand on the top. Well nowadays it has been change to word called beef. Kool moe dee was first old school rapper to appear wearing glass as LL cool j says star trek shades.
@falsepride I agree a few months ago Regis Philbin was saying he's "down" with Lil Wayne and you always here news-people saying all kind of bad shit about rappers. Back in the day nobody like Regis wanted to be down with rap and nobody wanted to fuck with rappers at all.
well, i must tell u, in this clip moe dee looks a lil stiff and said the same thing twice, if u ask me, special k sounds the best of all four in this clip
Kool Moe Dee or Treacherous 3 had their albums released at pretty much the same time as Run DMC, which I all bought when they came out btw. I'm not Old or New School.
I never liked Dee's flow or his image. Simple as that. If you disagree, that's cool, too.
I remember when that aired and kool moe dee has always been on point. If you want to see some dancing then go look up MC HAMMER Cuz your in the wrong place damn wet behind the ears
Moe Dee has always been lyrical, but he just stands there like a tree. Special K is boring. He was the least popular out of the Treacherous Three. Spoonie G should have been in his place. Run and DMC were showman. They played off each other. Run gets u hyped with his voice and movement. And DMC (while not the most lyrical) makes u laugh with his killer delivery.... What's da verdict? Treacherous couldn't fuck wit Run-DMC, Maaan!!!
even after all that run dmc got thier ass handed to them in the battle. big deal run made some faces and moved his hands when we was rappin. run dmc could never beat the T 3 in a battle
T3 & T La Rock basically invented the "big word style" and that was their game. But even 4 & 5 syllable words couldn't save T3 against what RunDmc had back then. Battles are about charisma, delivery, and, yes, style (i.e., facial expressions, body language and fashion sense). In the mid-80's, if u put RunDmc & T3 on the same show, RunDmc would have blown T3 off the stage, because just like in the video, T3 was too boring!!! ha,ha
I dont get where you say there boring. maybe in your mind. but your bias for run dmc. and dont talk about battles. kool moe d won everyone he was ever in.ASK busy b. run dmc. LL koOl J
Ha,Ha..1rt off, I explained why T3 was boring in my first 2 posts. READ THEM! 2nd, I'm articulate, so I dont need u 2 tell me whats "in my mind'. Its not bias, its obvious why 1 group are music icons & the other isnt. If u liked T3s performance more, thats your opinion, but comparing RunDmc 2 T3 is like MJ 2 Harold"Baby Jordan"Miner. 3rd, Moe Dee hilariously ambushed BusyB unexpectedly. Thats not a battle, sir. Last, Moe had better dis songs but LL dis records are still listenable 2day,so I dunno
though not a real battle, nor freestyle and all staged and that, to me this is like the changing of the guards from old to new skool in the same way as the busy bee vs kool moe dee battle. even thought kool was a better rapper and they look cool in their own right, run just ozzes charisma and is cool as fuck and rise the bar.
Personally I think Run DMC is better than anyone out there, but Moe Dee's got a rockin voice. And it pains me to say it, but DMC sucked BALLS in this.
no doubt this is what it was all about back in da days, motivating the crowd with hype lyrics & to dope beats...getting everyone on that dance floor and do their thang!!!
Thank you Tom, love the oldschool beat. Brings me back good memories from my b-girl days...Much respect to both Kool Moe D & Special K (Treacherous Three) and to Run DMC. Long live hip hop!!!
where u from? this is an old skool battle its not how it is today when niggaz come at each other hard and make em cry and go kill eachother back in da day battling was about who get the crowds hyper rather than who is better and who is more superior
You've got to be kidding me. Some of LL's stuff was dope, but he was on the whole a sex symbol and could not rest with the likes of Moe Dee, Rakim, Kane or even Run (the last imo).
I agree with you. LL went from B-boy rap to the "high heel" rap. This battle the OLD SCHOOLERS definitely took it.The treacherous three (especially Moe Dee)rocked! But at THAT time, RUN DMC was on the up & up and there was nothing anybody could do to stop the hype they were getting. The newcommers to the hip hop scene couldn't discern what was "real" or traditional as opposed to something that just sounded appealing to their own particular tastes. RUN DMC came to fit the mainstream image more
