If you were a Smith-o-phile, and who wasn't, go check out Mark Richard on Thursdays or Sunday afternoons at d'Vine Wine and Jazz in Morgan Hill. Mark is a darn fine pianist and guitarist, and has other local players join him Sundays for a scheduled Jazz Jam, from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM. I try not to miss it when I am up that way.
We used to see Smith Dobson at Garden City. Always asked 'Nick Dallas", the owner, for good seats. Nick was our attorney', Charles Kavalaris's, brother-in-law.
@lazydaisydays Wow! the description and first slide both scream that it is a cover. In case you didn't know, it is a violation for anyone but Micheal or his publisher to post his own versions.
I'm very sorry the very first title slide which clearly spells out "Voice and Guitar by Alan Land" is not enough to alert you to the fact that it's a cover. YouTube does not allow the user to pick ANY frame as the reference. If all you're looking for is illegal downloads of original material, I think there are other sites more specifically reserved for that.
No CD for sale yet, but my original music is available for listening at Myspace page with the same screen name. The first 6 movies at my channel are all original music. Glad you like it. The guitar is my Heritage Super Eagle, and the bass is my Heritage Super Eagle (run through a vocal transformer to drop it an octave, LOL).
Great version of "Popsicle Toes"! Who is the guy singing? He's got a great, blues/jazz type voice. His voice earthy, yet light and upbeat at the same time. Really easy on the ears. The guitar is so smooth, I like this original arrangement. It's relaxing, melodic, yet kind of haunting at the same time. I can listen to this over and over. Who's the artist? Does he have a CD?
i heard this song in the car with my mom and brother, and we almost crashed when we were laughing.
WTF?! "posicle toes"?

This is cool and all and the cover isn't bad but... could you maybe post the actual song? lol
All I see on youtube is covers and the one live performance. Its a shame really

@FreshieMcwiggles Would that I could, Freshie. The only copy I own is on cassette tape, and my only tape player is in my old truck.

Pete, Michael Franks wrote and popularized this tune, but Diana Krall has released a more recent cover that is also quite nice.
