  • Is it Tongo or Chongo?

  • still comes on boomerang (i think mon-fri from 11-noon)

  • OH OH CHUNGOO!!!!

  • UH-OH CHUNGO!! Hahaa, friggin classic... I think Chungo was Filipino. LOL I love the cliffhanger at the end of the episode, when Chungo is fighting a giant vampire bat. Gotta love it. Kids shows nowadays, have no adventure and SUCK ASS, and teach kids to be gay... like the Wiggles. The 60s, 70s and 80s era shows were the shit.

  • How did it end??

  • I remember this show......

    UH-OH CHONGO!!!!

It was on around the same time as HR Pufnstuf!!!

  • Jan Micheal-Vincent was in this?!

  • Chongo Rocks!

  • Thank god for youtube, I started thinking I made this show up in my head, nobody ever knew what the hell I was talking about with this segment. THANKS!

  • @chancafer I would have known! This was part of The Banana Splits Show!

  • I remember Danger Island! Thanks to this show I know what to do if I'm ever trapped in a cave full of Vampire Bats!

  • How did Ronne Troup (Leslie Hayden)'s pants stay perfectly white all the time? She was the real reason to tune in!

  • Uh oh, Chungo. its Danger Island next!

  • @mart3442 LOL... that shit was funny, I think Drooper used to say that on the Banana Splits, whenever it was about to tune to Danger Island. lol :)

  • @mart3442 LOL... That shit was funny. I think Drooper used to say that on the Banana Splits, when it was about to tune to Danger Island. lol :)

  • CLASSIC!

  • This clip brings back memories. I am 44 and I remember watching this show while getting ready for school.

  • I always felt sorry for Chongo !!!!!

  • this show scared the hell out of me when i was a kid. this and dr shrinker.

  • hey i remember this .. this kicked ass

  • Still comes on BOOMERANG u guys!

    11-Noon mon-fri

  • this show is cheap! they rewind and play again to get that effect of dumping sombodys head in water or hitting them

  • Well let's hand you a fucking Emmy for effects critique. It's a kids show from the late 60's, they didn't have the budget or technology of today's shows. It was great in the day, let's leave it at that. Today's shows will suck in the future soon enough....

  • delirante y super funky me encantaba esta serie

  • It was was deliberately shot that way to keep the audience's attention (it certainly got yours, didn't it!) It was the same gimmick they used on the opening of Hawaii Five-o when there is a distant ariel shot of Jack Lord standing on his hotel balcony with his back to the camera. As the camera zooms in, he whirls round dramatically to face it, as if the audience was the bad guy trying to sneak up on him!

  • Loved it as a kid. The only thing I remembered about the show was "uh-oh, Chongo!"

  • Didn't the tall dark guy look like a recurring actor on the "Hawaii Five-O" series? I refer to the guy who played an AWOL soldier one season, an off-duty cop who tried to diffuse a standoff with a sniper another season, and a shady character trying to get a family out of town in the midst of a bubonic plague watch yet another season. He sure dows look familiar...

  • Morgan?

  • "UH OH Congo"

  • whats funny is, that im14 and even i get nistalgia from this. (all i liked was old stuff like this, the drangon ball sieres and pokemon!

  • Richard Donner (Superman, Lethal Weapon)directed Danger Island.

  • Comics legend Alex Toth (Space Ghost) wrote and scripted it didn't he?

  • No, actually, I don't know who the writers were, but the director was none other than Richard Donner.

  • Anyone notice Jan Michael Vincent? This was his first big break, a long way from Airwolf.

  • I heard the man who played Morgan was the first African-American actor to appear on The Andy Griffith Show.

  • The other characters in the show were, Morgan, Leslie, and Link. I will be putting up the entire sequence shortly.

  • Many thanks for posting - have not seen this since the late 60's early 70's. Brings back such memories.

  • They can put on the entire six seasons of The Flintstones but NOT the entire chapters of Danger Island on DVD???

  • Was it: "Uh Oh Chongo" or "Uh Oh Jango"? I grew up with this show but never knew exactly what he said. P.S. I still use this phrase today, to the bewilderment of those around me.

  • "Uh, Oh Chongo" Apparel here >>>

  • its amazing how cool a shitty show can be to an 8 year old. i loved this show, but as an adult now understand why my father hated it.

  • LoL

  • CLASSIC!

  • I was 42 the other day. I looked at this and floods of lovely memories came piling back! Same age as me ish? You know what I mean then!! Im off to root out something more!

  • I really miss these old shows. It seems that all the kids shows today are always trying to preach some lesson. These old kids shows were great because they didn't pretend to be anything other than what they were... entertainment for children.

  • No different from what they show now... only less obnoxious.

  • I recorded the opening song on my little portable Panasonic cassette recorder (they came in red, blue, yellow...) - it had Chongo screaming his "aaaa gigigig gaaaaaah !" Wish it was on this one.

  • Wow, that brings back memories. Loved that show as a kid. Just did a search and found an "Uh Oh, Chongo!" shirt right here> 3dubs cafepressdotcom/lasword

  • It's been on the Boomerang channel, at 5:30 am (Eastern), 2:30 am (Pacific), I believe 6 nights a week (not on Sunday nights). See the schedule on

  • Uh Oh Chongo! I've spent my whole , post 13 year old life, thinking that I'd imagined this, til tonight. Noone i have EVER met has EVER known WTF I've beeen on about when I've said this! Hallefreakinlujah!! Thankyou all!

  • See there are a bunch of us who remember. Go youtube and the internet.

  • UH-OH CHONGO!!!!

  • looking back i'm amazed at the racism of this show.

  • I think today we've been brainwashed into seeing racism in EVERYTHING. I mean, come on, RACISM on Danger Island?!

  • Damn...this show was the original "Lost"! I'm 47, and saw this the first time I was 9 years old!!!

  • same, amazing what u can remember eh, far out, the banana splits lol and buffy and jody and daktari

  • YES!!!! This was my favorite when I was growing up! Lookout for the Skeleton Men! Uh-oh, Chongo!

  • Thanks for posting this, I loved danger Island when I was a kid...was my favorite part of the banana splits show. wish we could see a whole episode!

  • Mud in the Face!!, disturbing....

    Danger island, Wow.....

  • I was 10 and totally in love with Jean Michael Vincent! Now I have bad thoughts about Sawyer from Lost. These islands are really dangerous!

  • i use to love this show, when i was littele boy 9-11 old in africa, also THE banana splits. but my Favorites was BEUTIFUL WOMAN THY CALL IT MAIJAA FROM "SPACE 1999"

  • oh man, ohhhh maaaaan thisis greeaat, thank you

  • I almost forgot the other scene - Link and one of the pirates have a fight on the boat, and Chongo walks up with a banana; Link grabs the banana, and smooshes it right in the pirates face, and then throws him overboard.

  • The best part of this show was the fact that they alternated danger/action scenes with "in the face" slapstick, like the big pie fight where they totally smoosh those cream pies in each others faces in the opening segment. Another one had Chongo slowly smashing a watermelon back and forth right in Morgan's face.

  • I so love this show - is there any chance of you uploading the rest of it? I've been looking for it everywhere, but apparently it was never put on any DVD or VHS!

  • I don't know if it's me but Chonga bears an uncanny resemblance to the kid named Sangiya on American Idol

  • I forgot all about this show...wow!

  • I loved this show- thought it was a serious adventure show but could never understand the comdedy "pie" gags haha.

  • this is taking it back in time. props for the memories, this was my favorite show growing up

  • Great show! I remember watching it as a kid myself and this show actually had an ending. You guys can still catch it now and then on the Boomerang Network. There should be more post of these short shows from the Banana Splits!

  • Great show --- high drama --- headhunters scared the crap out of me as a kid.

  • Oh wow! I haven't seen this in a long time. You have any more?

  • I loved this show when I was a kid! My friends and I would often yell, "Uh oh, Chongo!" as we ran down the street.

  • You guys know? Steven Tyler got the screams on "Dude (Looks Like a Lady)" from Chongo on this show. That's a fact.

  • I can remember Chongo screetching some nonstop gibberish for 3 minutes. Then his interpeter pal would say "Chongo said "yes".

  • I loved this serial as a kid! Brings back memories.

  • Haha i'm 14 so I wasn't around but it's an awesome show.

  • OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOhhhhhhhhh Shit!! that's some ol skool right there. :)

    UH OH!! CHONGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! Hehee.

  • I remember this show! Didn't the heroine get captured A LOT by the bad guys, and (of course) the good guys had to rescue her.

  • Yes, Jan-Michael Vincent [then known as just "Michael Vincent"] played "Link Simmons", Ronne Troup ["Leslie Hayden"] later starred on My Three Sons.

  • I need more. I love this shit
