  • LMFAO. This video doesn't really prove that American tourists are stupid. You can't expect everybody from America to know each thing about your country.

I wonder how many people in other countries think the United States has just one Statue of Liberty..

  • is the first one in Oslo?

  • China is a town outside darwin?!?!? hahahahaha fucking priceless!.

  • it's because you're in one of the most unintelligent parts of the united states, try relocating to a more intellectual parts of the u.s. the home of the idiots

  • @angelofmegadeath yeah and not only that, but they could of talked to 30 / 40 people. but only picked out the dumbest or "funny" of the clips to shown.

  • All you need is a suit and a English accent to fool Americans

  • if that was pulled on an aussie wed just laugh it off. thats the difference. Aussies understand irony and appreciate a good piss take The Americans just take themslevs too seriously

  • Most Americans in the video are not buying the BS. Can't some morons here tell their tone? They are clearly annoyed. When Americans say, "Oh, really?" it's a diplomatic way of telling you that I'm not buying it. Come on, anyone with a brain should know that.

  • @ttiiyy who cares? it's still funny. you guys take it too seriously.

  • Why do Australians have such mutated features? The guy on the right looks like his head was squeezed with some sort of industrial rubber band at birth. The guy on the left appears to be either spaztick, or just recently learned to breath on his own. If you want to experience Australia, just head down to your nearest travelling carnival.

  • @pinworms70 Yeah mate totally right on, you are 100% correct about us. Its because we all come from convict origins and most of us are inbred.

  • @ThaFunkster100 Thats a load of shit!.

Inbred???, we are no more "inbred" then american rednecks!.

  • @85Aheadstix I was being sarcastic / facicious / Ironic

  • Ahhaaa, so cruel!

  • @pinworms70 Why are americans so fat? they all look like they are more familiar with McDonald's than their own kitchen. if you want to experience America, just head down to the local weight-watchers meeting.

  • LMAO!! Hahahaha!! Please tell me they're trained actors and aren't really THAT stupid... LOLOL!! Why the hell would we have YOUR president's faces on OUR mountains? xD hahahaha!!

  • Oh man. Don't you guys ever get bored of making Americans look like ignorant hicks? Ah who am I kidding, I don't either.

  • Its great for me as an american to watch a video like this on YouTube and have actual intellectual people understanding that this isn't a, "stupid american" thing, and that it is just a "stupid people" thing.

  • @thisguykills 40% of Americans believe the world is less than 10,000 years old...Yes people are stupid, some countries have more stupid people than others.

  • Definitely funny, and I also believe if you grabbed people at random from "certain" American streets you'd get a similar response. It really depends on where you are. I don't know if this is an American phenomenon, but lots of people tend to purge everything they learned in school shortly after graduating. Also, the country is not exactly a tiny place so most people don't get out and visit these places or talk about them, its not like they're right around the corner.

  • @Chaduke

It's a people thing and yes.. it is very funny.

  • Haha- I'm American and I think this is hilarious! I definitely think we need to include geography classes in our high schools though- it's embarrassing. Thankfully I'm a geography major :)

  • @sarah11790

    It depends by school.

  • Of all the things like this I've seen, it's like street hypnosis. Maybe Americans are just more open minded and a bit more vulnerable in some way ? Doesnt make them dumb, belive me there are people from provincial towns in the UK that make the hillybillys in Deliverance look like Harvard graduates . We Brits, apart from being exceptionally clever smart arses, can be more cynical & diffident, which aids us in not looking like fools, but stifles creativity. There . UK vs US in a nutshell.

  • @PurplePunisher69 There's a word for this kind of open mindedness.

    "Gullible"

  • shit they're stupid. americans.

    'that was in nemo'

  • that was in nina

  • hahahahahhahahahahha

  • Oh bless, it's nice how most of the people are so polite - I think they are actually quite a good advertisement for Americans! Even if their geography isn't the best!

  • i normally like the chasers, but some of this stuff is ridiculous. it's too easy to make people look stupid on television. in fact, i'm sure only the americans who could be most easily persuaded into believing incorrect answers were kept to be shown in this video. EVERY country has its share of idiots, including australia. the united states may have its share of "stupid" people, but we also have our share of intelligent people.

  • god I was laughin so hard.....

  • oh those wacky foreigners that thier incomplete educations

  • wonderful chaser brilliance!

  • Americans are bloody funny

  • I love jokes about my race or my heritage. I seriously laugh my ass off.

But, anyone can be made to look stupid on tv. American public schools aren't so far behind European schools that we can't catch up, for example, this year an Arizona law went into effect that a child can't graduate from the third grade unless he can read at a third grade level. Which is a pretty good start.

And now that we have the internet there are loads of information available to anyone who wants to learn.

    Peace

  • @Dragging40 Americans are so dumb they have to pass a law to make sure their kids can read properly, pffff

  • @killerzboy010 LOL :D

  • @killerzboy010 At the very least our literacy rate is one of the highest in the world.

  • @Dragging40

It depends upon which European country you are referring to. Each country has different stats. Some European countries lag behind the United States and there are European countries that are ahead of it. *shrugs*

  • @silentsoliloquy82 I was mostly referring to England and Denmark. I haven't heard of any European countries which are behind the U.S. in academics. We have a real academic problem in the U.S. We have lowered the acceptable SAT scores in order to accommodate the less fortunate in our country, while depriving the smarter students of a good education.

  • @Dragging40

I see. I know which countries are ahead and which are behind. I know the problems of that which face the United States all to well. Every country has it's positives and negatives. I can tell you there are a number of countries that are worse off... unfortunately. Did you know Finnish children don't attend school until age seven? Finnish children receive one of the best educations if not the best in the world, however. :)

  • lol at yanks, there actually to dumb to realise that there comments they are making are just as dumb as the yanks in this vid.. PLEASE NOTE YANKS. no1 likes u. no 1....

  • @timreserve If you don't know the difference between "there" and "their", nor the difference between "to" and "too" maybe you should take advantage of the fine schools that are available to you in your country.

    peace

  • @Dragging40 sweetheart, trying to correct spellin on youtube is like doing the worm with a boner.. your not getting anywhere ;) butttttttttttt, your probably a yank. so i shall let you get back to your maccas :)

  • Australians afraid to question their own people .

  • @otamanlvhs lol, first of all... No

secondly, i think you were trying to say

"Australians are afraid to question thier own people."

because your grammer isn't helping your cause.

  • @lmcwha yeah my grammar suck but I think it's clear enough to understand what I mean.why do you care about what Americans know and what they don't know? Not knowing about other countries' buildings is the sign of uninformativeness rather than dumbness.I doubt anyone cares if Australians know anything. They didn't even attempt to ask those questions their own people.Nice way toward being tolerant to each other.

  • @otamanlvhs It shows flaws in your education system. And i have no doubt what they have done is pick out some of the stupidest answers from a day of filming.

And infact, they have done this to aussies before, it was hilarious, they made fun of our bogans, similar to your rednecks.

But where the humour comes from is the fact that Americans are infamously known to be stupid, and alot of that global aknowledgement comes simply from American films, nothing else, oh and this :p

  • These shows are fun and there's a grain of truth to them. You always see them pointedly interviewing everyday slobs on the street, though. It's nothing against them-I'm an everyday slob.I have yet to see these street interviews on university campuses,et al.I've lived all over, and there are oblivious people everywhere.

  • I find that type of humor excessively stupid. It's like Australians don't have ideas to make something funny without mocking someone and being rude.I'll find plenty of stupid people everywhere and especially in Australia.I wasn't growing up in America so i have to know stupidity of other people without realizing it Australian actors suck balls in Hollywood movies. They should be banned from entering the US at all.

  • @otamanlvhs

    lol awww you're all butthurt

  • I don't mind it really, but it's unbelievable how many Americans come over here and try to speak German to me, even when I remind them they are in Holland and the language is Dutch :S

  • Sorry about pal. At least you can smoke weed in your nation without going to prison, but then again you can't own firearms without going to prison or is that misinformation on my part? Here's to you and Holland from America.

  • That's not your fault lol. I'm actually Italian so it's even more confusing for me, but they're nice people.

  • @molanlabexm15 we can get firearms... we just need a permit... harder to get then in America but we can still get em.

  • i am an american but they're some dumbass americans man... hahaha

  • i think what we learned here is that Americans who live in the south are dumber than those who live in the north. Or maybe it seems like that to me since I live in the most literate city in the US

  • Don't be mean to the yanks! I worked with tourists for 10 years, and the only way the Americans fitted the stereotypes were that the women were definately louder and bossier than us.( They were also fatter - but so what? )They were always friendly, interested, cheerful and polite - including the kids! They were our favourite tourist groups, after Australians (Australians have the same wonderful sense of humour as the British, only they are more friendly.)

  • Hahaha well, being an American, I can insult myself :P

  • That's your prerogative. I am not saying I would like these people to take part in voting in the government which would be in charge of my country for, er, 8 years or so, but I can only speak from experience of several years working in a major tourist destination... given the choice between dealing with an amiable, interested, cheerful redneck or someone who was well-informed but frosty and morose (naming Keine Nationalitäten) I know which I preferred.

  • Comment removed

  • Ah, indeed.. And I must say, your prejudice against an entire nation of people really shows off your intelligence..

  • haha ofcourse mr subjective.. you're American.

  • Ms. Subjective.

    And I am American.

    But I appreciate other humor.

This just didn't strike me as all that funny, sorry.

3 Non Blondes parody of Americans, however, is pretty hysterical.

  • lol! chaser's rock

  • you know, jay leno is funny, but again hese clueless, hasn't he heard of global warming? I wouldn't have thought so with the amount of cars he owns, but anyway hese cool so i wont diss him. Nice joke, but not as funny as this, this is hilarious, so much for no sense of humer.

btw why the fuck do you say mum mom? i just find it wierd.

  • I don't know why do any americans think the earth is 6,000 years old?

  • Cuase mah old book say so!

Honestly i don't know anyone here who thinks that.

  • @applefrog111

apparently sarah palin thinks that, but i wouldn't hold her to rational conclusions.

  • @GiantArapaima74

..Its a sad day when someone like her was so close to being POTUS.

Hopefully people here in the us will stop being so paranoid and realize that.

(Sorry my grammar isnt that good)

  • @applefrog111

THANK GOD FOR OBAMA lol, he saved you guys and the world from a fate worse than death. just after george bush's presidency i might add

  • did people really thumps up martyaus2905 comment.

  • Around the World people think that America must be the sum of their beliefs and preconceived notions of it. I sincerely hope that you wouldn't judge every single person in a country based upon what you know of a few. That goes for every country, and every people.

  • i meant in the few day trip, not in a day

  • i heard of some pommies that came to aus for a week and planned a trip like those guys at the end, they didn't even make it out of Queensland before they ran out of time, lol Some of the americans wanted to drive 5000KM or more in a day... (for non aussies watching)

  • I get the feeling that americans aint all that smart

  • you can tell most of those people were just being polite and friendly. most of them knew where those landmarks were, and just smiled and agreed with the host to be polite and/or were playing along with the joke. they clearly said where the originals were, and then the host said, "noooo, it's in australia", and they just smiled and let him do his gag.

  • bingo

  • People like them, make me feel embarrassed to be an American.

  • are you an american living in aus?

  • no. i've never been there either, but i'd like to go someday.(maybe)

  • im ashamed of my fellow americans, but australias humor is funny. HOW THE HELL CAN THEY NOT KNOW THAT SYNEY IS IN AUSTRALIA AND THE LEANING TOWER OF PIZZA IS IN FUCKING FRANCE AND THE CHIEASE WALL HAS THE FUCKING NAME CHINA IN IT!!!LOL. they are such dumb asses

  • lol... the leaning tower is in Italy not France..... um yeah...

  • And it is not actually made of pizza...

  • A person should be judged by their actions and decisions, not by colour creed religion heritage or sexual preference. Any generalization is ignorance.

  • I'm not sure whether you are berating me or agreeing with me. If it's the former, I'd suggest you read the whole thread, with particular regard to my comments. As someone who has actually liked most of the many Americans I've met, it's quite hard to maintain a balance on here, though, because the Glenn Beck contingent do tend to hang around these forums like a fart in a spacesuit, frothing at the mouth at any perceived criticism.

  • No mate im agreeing with, i have read enough of the thread or else i wouldnt have made the comment, i even checked out your site. Personally i've only been to NYC, and never had any hassle with anyone ever over there for 3 months. Glenn Beck is probably a great guy i just get the feel his ego gets in the way when people observe him. Check my videos out too, common interest.

  • Hmm... can;t agree with you on the Glenn Beck front; he strikes me as seriously mentally ill. I agree with you about Americans from the north, though - they get a really unfair press; some of the nicest, most tolerant, intelligent, enlightened people I ever met, and a real pleasure to deal with. They do tend to be burdened with the south, though; on trips to different southern states, unfortunately I definately found the majority of them were heading toward Jerry Springer territory and beyond.

  • Haha. When push comes to shove i judge people on what they do, not what they are. If someone is stupid in my books i wont criticise, i like to think decisions decide a person. I would also like to point out that tolerance is key, and yes some people we cant tolerate, but there are not many, call me weird but at times i think genuine good intelligent folk are even exploited on Springer. Thanks for reply, keep safe.

  • @Jessabee9 and he said PIZZA! XD

  • @Jessabee9

Leaning Tower of Pisa, yes. Leaning Tower of "Pizza" never fails to make me smile in this video.

  • ha ha ha the tower of Pizza. Thanks, fellow American. You're really making us look good.

  • lovin2talk4eva,

From another American: lady, you're not helping. Maybe you should stop talkin' 4 eva and try reading. Maybe you'll learn where the Leaning Tower of PISA is located (hint: "IT HAS THE FUCKING NAME 'PISA' IN IT!!!LOL" as you put it.).

Isn't it ironic that, if they had questioned you, your statement about the "Leaning Tower of Pizza" being in France ("Pizza, France," perhaps?) would've been the biggest laugh of the bit?

Also, I wasn't aware people from China were Chiease.

  • This is so funny but disgusting to know that they know nothing about the rest of the world.

    i'm referring to these people,

    not all americans.

  • That's why "Are you smarter than a 5th grader" is such a GOOD INVESTMENT in the US.

  • so true...thats wer the monyz iz!!! :D

  • Im english and Im sooo ashamed to be english....these wankers in here keep on wanking all day....I mean look at our so-called P.M......he is an obedient dog of USA....we know that DaddyUSA will always rule us...:)) ...:))

we have so much american investments that if usa decides to fuck us they can take away all what we have and we'll all be unemployed.......ahahahahaha

we like to make such videos so as to feel some happiness in life...ok we'll fuck our mothers now...see ya leter

    Cheers mate!

  • Comment removed

  • this video was made by Australians, dimwit... shame they didn't include you in it!

  • USA USA! I guess 1+1 is 23 after all.

  • Cunts, always forget about Tasmania

Like on Getaway, they never show how much it costs for a plane ticket to the countries in Tasmania...

  • rofl " the great wall of china "

" Oh i didn't know cause it said australia "

" oh no it is in australia "

    " oh, oh wow i didn't know that "

JESUS CHRIST! HOW STUPID CAN YOU BE! LOL

  • "Caught"?...They admit to all their sketches. I doubt they'd have people their pulling stunts on in the thank-yous in the credits. (Such as in the case of the Julian vs Sheikh Hilali and Anthony Mundine sketch) It's the difference between organised sketches and stunts. And I would hardly call not including sensible answers "clever video editing" @_@

  • I love how people keep calling it clever editing, when all their doing is just including the funny answers. My god that's so cunning, it's borderline mastermind @_@ And well yes their not going to include anyone who realises it's fake, cause that's not funny, nor profitable >.> If it makes you lot feel any better they rip off stupid Australians just as much (but maybe that's just cause it's more budget friendly...)

  • u dumb fucks, the chasers in like all there history have done 1 thing that was fake and it was the pool party when there was an open for inspection house. this is real!

same with APEC and everything else

  • Yeah, the pool party was fake, I reckon the sex at the bed shop would of been and the airport pickup, also the fight with Julian and Anthony Mundine.

  • aussie aussie bossy glossy

  • China is a town outside of darwin. LOL!!

  • Let's play spot-the-TT-or-ACA viewer...OH!OH! I SPOT ONE, I WIN!

  • ""By the way, this guys were CAUGHT using staging/faking various things. You can do miracles with cleaver video-editing/actors/deceiving the interviewed people/etc....""

Yeah I suppose the APEC security stunt was fake as well (retard).

  • Apec was not fake

it was all over the news idiot, just remember, its the biggest security thing ever done in Australia so we're not used to that sort of thing, plus Bush bought in loads of people from the USA to help guard too.

  • How do people get tricked by this stuff... they even know some of the landmarks pretty well, and STILL believe its in austrailia?

  • YEAH chasers u r the best especially chas to bad they stopped.....:(

  • You Aussies are funny

  • I agree.

  • Its not about money so much as the actual drive to travel. Where there's a will...which is ingrained pretty much everywhere except for the States. Just no idea about the world at large. Know this attitude from family in america.

Shame because travelling is some of the most fun u can have! Personal growth, and the babes/partying :P

  • not very many americans go there because a plane ticket from LA to sydney costs like $3,000 dollars.

  • omg this is so goddamn funny! dumbass motherfuckin yankee dankee doodle shait!

  • I wonder if he ever gets educated people who tell him off...I'd say to him, "Shut up man, we (East)Indians created the Taj Mahal."

  • omg. this is horrible.

    xD

  • Wow, that has to be one of the weirdest vids I've ever seen.

  • This is a bunch of bullshit. Why would someone think that a TV show is trying to deceive them? Most of them knew the landmarks, and had no reason to suspect that these jerks were lying about their claims.

  • well they do have a point u know, hardly any americans come out to australia. it's mostly english tourists that comes out here.

  • well the fact that they ARE deceived by this just proved that they don't even know what they are talking about, for gosh sake, agreeing on smthing like Australia owns "The great wall of CHINA"? Please, anybody who's sensible enough would have realized what was going on right there. Duh.

  • Ok. The people who thought that the Great Wall of China was owned by Australia (or whoever) are idiots.

  • this makes me sad.

  • This makes me sad...

  • senile and ignorant people >:l

  • wow... boy this makes me proud to be an american. =P

    ignorant fucks

  • 5 days LOL. She obviously doesnt know how far it is between all these places. Im amazed at how little they know.

  • Quickly Harry, find another 5 and, then everyone will be saved!

    Cheers!

  • OH !!! Very funny Frank !!!

  • And God said to Charles Firth, find me just 6 Americans aware of life outside of their country, otherwise I will reign destruction upon their ignorance and insular viewpoints! :-)

  • ninyae in case u didn't notice they kept showing the same few people. how are you 50 and making such ignorant comments like all the dumbass 15 year olds on here.

  • Oh c'mon, what I said was just in the spirit of the comedy being shown. Have a laugh. Look, here in Oz, many people make fun of themselves and others all the time. I know yanks do it to. There are 300 million of you and I know very well that there are many, many, many good, intelligent Americans. Don't take things so personally. I happen to think that people can sometimes be dumb and sometimes smart. Jesus mate, its just a joke. At least Harry Pothead took it as a joke. Sensitive Soul!

  • ninyae1- true. sorry i think i'm just really paranoid being an american right now. i should probably lay off these yt vids a bit. sorry, i didn't mean any harm. i love the aussies, i always wanted to visit. :)

  • Do yourself a favour and come visit!

  • well thank you for the kind words, i definately plan on it some day!

  • alright, if they were to show americans being smart, it wouldn't really be entertainment would it.

  • Nonetheless, it's disturbing shit how dumb these people are.

  • Man, this is so sad for we Americans and how gullable we are too. I nearly blew a kidney laughing though! Funny as Sh--!

  • that was bloody hilarious!! but that is not true we do have significant land marks, there is the opera house and the sydney harbour bridge... im also thinking maybe the big banana but i dont no about that one... i dont live in queensland...

  • I'm American....and I find this hilarious!!! : D

  • lol me too.

  • Haha! Hey, I'm from America and I just find this soooo true. Take half the people in America and no, you won't get this, but a lot of people are like that. Hey, I'm one of them!

  • This is funny, but Americans are not this stupid. Hardly anybody is this stupid. Where did they find these people?

  • I am so embarrassed of my countrymen...this is like Jaywalkers on crack.

  • I've been to Mount Rushmoore. I know there's only one Mount Rushmoore.

  • ...wow

  • OMFG! LMAOLMAOLMAO! The girl said, "That was in nemo!" So true though, it was on Finding Nemo. I'm from America and I just find this so funny. These people don't know what to believe. I feel the same way sometimes. People just lie and lie and lie. I personally know that their not in Australia because I've been to most of the places. I don't believe what people say unless I go get the truth myself.

  • Yeah Melbourne SHOULD be called the city of love.

I'm from perth and I fell in love with a girl there :D

  • yanks are sooo dumb, shoes with velcro sell well i bet

  • That's really rude to sum up all the citizens of a country like that. People are people. Those people were pretty stupid. The majority of us aren't.

  • hahahahahahaaha

  • I don't know anyone this stupid.

This is not an accurate depiction of Americans...

  • sure...

  • I'd love to have videotaped some of the Australian tourists who I met on my backpacking trips through Europe. Those fuckers were dumber than dogshit and seemed to show up EVERYWHERE.

  • thats why most normal australians backpacking overseas say they are from new zealand, cause for some wierd reason its always the yobbos that go overseas and represent us

  • In Australia would would not get that response becuase we learn about Australian and World History unlike you ignorant Yanks. Have you shot your best friend yet?

  • Funny stuff.

  • LOL!!!

  • unfair...he got the rednecks and stupid ghetto girls...>.>

  • and, Aint it Natural to believe the guy in a Tuxedo with a guy filming him?

  • as an american i find this fucking hilarious! i dont know anybody this stupid, but if i did, i would have hours of fun trying to explain existential philosiphy to them.
