@rob45x I actually put Incandescent bulbs in this rig, but the tamiya cc01 fj40 kit does come with a light control unit & front/rear LED's . White & red.
i just bought that kit and was wandering how yours goes so well i put mine togather and hated it lol i would get stuck on flat ground lol i ran one battery and put it one ebay for $75
@stephenjray1988 Box stock these CC01 chassis are good bashers, or shelf queens! ;) Mine was modified quite a bit to achieve the scale rock crawler status. Novak Goat esc & 55turn motor, locked diffs, good tires, weighted wheels, more suspension travel with a custom 3 link, etc...
@bitchbastardson I guess anything could be possible! I've never seen one done with a three speed. You might be able rig up a two speed trans from RC4wd a little easier, but there won't be anything easy about it. If you're new and you're a Tamiya fan check google tamiyacrawlers. It's a great forum for ideas and questions just like this.
@coombsy16...Yes, I used the plastic locker that comes with the kit for the rear and I used hot glue for the front diff. I know it sounds kind of ghetto, but when it cools and dries it works quite well, and if you ever want to unlock the front diff it peels right out. Especially if you put down a little grease first.
@iliveonjupiter...Yes! For the price, you can't beat them. You'll just need to waterproof your electronics and go through your axles and moving parts from time to time to clean and re-grease.
This truck started life as a wrangler cc-01. I built this about 4 months ago (before the FJ40 kit came out) I had to lengthen my wheel base to use the FJ40 body, so I have a custom 4 link out back with longer shock shafts in the stock shock bodies for more articulation from the rear axle.
Question: Can this body fit perfectly on my CC01 Bronco? A Pajero?
redjones 8 months ago
@redjones No, the FJ40 has a longer wheelbase but you can lengthen your wheelbase and use a drive shaft from a new Fj40 kit or a CC01 VW Toureg kit.

are the rear LED lights standard in the kit or only the front lights?

Im actually new to this hobby so sorry if this is a dumb question but... is there a chance you could fit a 3speed gear on a cc-01 chassis?

What paint did you use?
Fa9ooly323 1 year ago
@Fa9ooly323-- It was Tamiya polycarbonate paint. I can't remember what the color was called, but as you can see it's a dark green.
