this was my favorite place in the world when i was a kid. My family and i were working class people and if i may thank the owner of the park for keeping prices low so me and my family could enjoy it and we did every chance my momma could bring us. i used to get lost in the park and while my family looked for me all day long i spent the day lost in adventure. We speak of those times still today. Thank goodness for such a place
I have fond memories of this place as a kid, too; however, those facilities for some of those animals were HORRENDOUS compared to most zoos now. Look at how pathetically small the polar bear's space is and the ridiculously tiny pool he had. I can also remember the poor gorilla sitting on concrete with his back to the visitors, as if he couldn't stand them.
the song choice for this vid scares me, but anyway im so bummed this place closed even before i was born =[ the place it used to be is only a 0 minute drive from my house... I have been there.. the cages are all still there but its kind of like walking through a ghost town...i wish i could have gone while it was open..it looks like it was so much fun =[
poor animals! they all must have died because of the food that people through to the bars of the cages. popcorns to the turtles!!! oh my god. scary video.
i went there several times. it was half zoo and half amusement park. good place for small kids. the gorilla cage was very sad and the howler monkeys scared me
LMAO!! PrettyCrappyUsername, I totally agree. I couldn't stop laughing, it reminded me of Dane Cook's story about Benson's Animal Farm. I now understand why he was bummed about it. This must have been so cool.
awesome video this should be clipped together with 2 other awesome bensons videos but 1 additional one for the beginning called going wild for bensons one from 1963 this one then the 1986 then cutting to dane cook's piece about Bensons after that cutting to credits using these songs and the one from the 63 video
it might sound like a lame idea to some but I came up with it being I didn't want to choose and say the whole thing put together
