I do like this game. Its fun to play with friends. But the AI does suck. And like I said in my last comment, maybe everyone telling them they are idiots and that their AI suck will make them work harder on the 3rd flashpoint.

I got this on ps3 and i enjoy the tactical gameplay makes a change from run and gun. It really shines in co-op when you are using headsets to work together. Ive even stopped playing mw2 for now.
This is a very fun and realistic game. Don't get this and expect another call of duty. You actually have to think about how you go about accomplishing your objectives instead of just mindlessly following on screen commands and shooting everything with a turban.
Looking at this, it would seem OFP-2-DR was first to be a PC only game foucusing on getting everything high detail and very well modeled, but between then and luanch they must have decided to make it console as well, and drop all the good graphics and alot of the animations and detail that was prepared for this game.
Too bad, if it was a PC only game it would have been better than ArmA II.
I think I only flew a helicopter ONCE in the main campaign. RIPOFF! There weren't even any tank missions or Aircraft missions! You can't even fly the cobra in the main game AT ALL! This is totally misleading and I love it when it says I have to retern to the mission area! Fully playable my ass!

From what I've seen on reviews and gamplay vids it looks pretty cool, I like open-ended shooters. But half the people are saying that the bugs and poor AI on both sides just ruin it.

Erm - people dont always die when you shoot them, AI is shitty, you cant use all vehicles like they said you could, you cant access the whole map like they said you could, you cant choose your own kit loadout, the multiplayer doesnt work, the hit detection is terrible, you can pump a whole clip into someone and not kill them,they obviously rushed it out so they wouldnt have to compete directly with MW2 - me and every one of my friends were so excited about this game, and we all got rid of it.
Did we get the same game promised? I seriously doubt they went to kiska to get photography, let alone worked 9 months on this. It's a good game and it's amazed they could pull off a decent game in a short amount of time. If they actually gave a shit, they'd be rich.
This game is awesome. I have it and am very much impressed at how its optimized. My GTX 275 runs this as smooth as butter. The environment/graphics is beautiful. So to say don't buy this game is obviously coming from an envious Arma2 fan who can't accept that Arma2 is on the way out as OFP2 enters the gaming world.
A pretty optimistic approach as DR sales immadiately started dropping once word of it's total awesomeness started circling around. As the original OFP is still alive and played, I'm a bit skeptical of ArmA 2's way out. :P Happy for the optimization of the bloom-covered low defined maximum of 63 entities. ^_^

This is a better buy than Arma2 IMO. At least you don't have to deal with crappy performance. Arma2 has to be the buggiest, most pretentious FPS ever created.
You wont have to deal with a large number of units on a battlefield either. The word "pretentious" certainly wouldn't apply to DR, released with most of the features advertised and you propably wouldn't comment on the bugginess without playing the 1.04 version or the new beta patch. Calling ArmA 2 an FPS is propably an indication of how much you're off.

All these things are in the game except for vehicle entering animations, which they told us had been dropped before release. Also a couple of vehicles aren't in the final release, but they are in the files, so I expect they'll be released in the first DLC packs (which they have said will be free)

In the game the soldiers don't enter the the vehicle with annimation why they didn't put animations. In the entering of a car ??? they yes appear in the vehicle.and also the you can even look to the sides when you inside the vehicle or tank...that's sucks
Yeah, it's got the Flashpoint name. Got the game. This is no sequal to Flashpoint 1. If you're looking for that, it's Arma1 and Arma2. Sum it up again in four words: "There's no mission editor." Sucks to be Codemasters.
they took it out because the animations took up too much space, were unneccesary, and would you really be willing to watch your guy crawl in and out of a tank everytime? :P
The ai don't enter vehicles they just appear in and out of them, why they cut the animation for entering the vehicles i dont know, also the game needs a robust cover mechanic for the ai, like in Brother's In Arms as all too often the ai will stand in the open waiting to get shot.
This is a very good game i really like it. but.....they say it has a huge map to explore, very true, but its so hard to find a vehicle to get across it! they should have put more military facilities to get vehicles from. Plus they say about the multistaging images when that tank is firing. it doesnt look that good in the actual game. this game has great graphics if you get your self in the right place where you can see for miles. its just the little things they could have spent more time on.

One of the things that appeals to me in this game is that you can't camp! the map is just to big, and if you do camp then have fun trying to achieve 1 kill. And i also love the fact that team work is essential, because on cod 4, nobody speaks which annoys me, but in this game you can't go rambo and pick up 10 kills because just as you reach the top of the hill, there will be a tank sitting there waiting for you, which in that case you need teamwork to take out the tank.
cod 6 is guna be class but compared to this cod is just some arcade shoot em up, this kinda is kinda like...... a 1st person ghost recon :D cant wait 4 it! :p

thats the beuty of it, instead of just walking across the map in like 1 minute just like in cod 4, you actually have to spend your time planning an assualt with your team and actually using vehicles, not for the sake of them being there, but because it can actually help you assualt the enemy team.
Well in my opinion when I heard that the multiplayer only have 4 v 4 on consoles that sounded really dumbed down. But then I found out that each player gets 3 AI to control, and I think that's very cool.
How satisfying could it be to ambush the other team by co-ordinating with the other squads? That's why I think the multiplayer will be great.

I have a ps3 and xbox 360 for which console should I buy this game. I don't know. Xbox 360 games go up to 1080p and ps3 games up to 720p (some also go to 1080p) the controller for xbox is better for me but the ps3 has a warmer sensation I think. Maybe the difference is unnotable Logic for me says 360 but instinct and feeling says ps3, I'll have to buy them both I guess...
its more like 15 rifles and a bunch of scopes and mods, but to be fair they have put most if not all weapons actually used by USMC in the game. would be a bit daft including the SA80 or steyr aug.

Codemasters claimed its not a Port yet we only get 64 limits in mission editor, max 8x anisotropic filtering.
They showed more features, then got released, the lean Function is coded but not active. they Will Sell us a DLC Which we have to pay for to get the features they promised.

I mean for us that enjoy war sims it would have been great if they consentrated on pc so they dont ruin the realism and gameplay like they did, I own it on both ps3 at my girlfriends and pc at my home and its a great game but not what i hoped for. A bit sellout.....

In the game the soldiers don't enter the the vehicle with annimation why they didn't put animations. In the entering of a car ??? they yes appear in the vehicle.and also the you can even look to the sides when you inside the vehicle or tank...that's sucks

Yeah, it's got the Flashpoint name. Got the game. This is no sequal to Flashpoint 1. If you're looking for that, it's Arma1 and Arma2. Sum it up again in four words: "There's no mission editor." Sucks to be Codemasters.

The ai don't enter vehicles they just appear in and out of them, why they cut the animation for entering the vehicles i dont know, also the game needs a robust cover mechanic for the ai, like in Brother's In Arms as all too often the ai will stand in the open waiting to get shot.

This is a very good game i really like it. but.....they say it has a huge map to explore, very true, but its so hard to find a vehicle to get across it! they should have put more military facilities to get vehicles from. Plus they say about the multistaging images when that tank is firing. it doesnt look that good in the actual game. this game has great graphics if you get your self in the right place where you can see for miles. its just the little things they could have spent more time on.

One of the things that appeals to me in this game is that you can't camp! the map is just to big, and if you do camp then have fun trying to achieve 1 kill. And i also love the fact that team work is essential, because on cod 4, nobody speaks which annoys me, but in this game you can't go rambo and pick up 10 kills because just as you reach the top of the hill, there will be a tank sitting there waiting for you, which in that case you need teamwork to take out the tank.

Individually nothing special, but all together make the full picture of thing, that they wanted to do and what they done finally.
I think it's madness to release this a month before new CoD.

thats the beuty of it, instead of just walking across the map in like 1 minute just like in cod 4, you actually have to spend your time planning an assualt with your team and actually using vehicles, not for the sake of them being there, but because it can actually help you assualt the enemy team.

Well in my opinion when I heard that the multiplayer only have 4 v 4 on consoles that sounded really dumbed down. But then I found out that each player gets 3 AI to control, and I think that's very cool.
How satisfying could it be to ambush the other team by co-ordinating with the other squads? That's why I think the multiplayer will be great.

As I said, at first I thought they dumbed it down bad for consoles, but it opens up some great tactical oppertunities. I think the PC version would be a little chaotic.

Bohemia made the original game, but Codemasters made the expansion pack to it, Resistance.
Tbh I think Codemasters are being dicks to Bohemia with not letting them make a sequel when they made the game originally then
Codemasters just went "me too" and made the expansions.
But they look like they're doing a great job AND it's coming to consoles, so I ain't going to complain. xD

I will be FURIOUS if this ends up like ANY battlefield game. This game looks awesome...but if they fuck it up, I will never again get a Codemasters game. Because OFP II is what I have been waiting years for and if they just "stupidize" the game for the masses in order to make money (just like COD and BF) I am going to lose it. Just remember everyone... if OFP 2 is not what you wanted...go get ARMA II for the PC and you most likely won't regret it.

I have a ps3 and xbox 360 for which console should I buy this game. I don't know. Xbox 360 games go up to 1080p and ps3 games up to 720p (some also go to 1080p) the controller for xbox is better for me but the ps3 has a warmer sensation I think. Maybe the difference is unnotable Logic for me says 360 but instinct and feeling says ps3, I'll have to buy them both I guess...

its more like 15 rifles and a bunch of scopes and mods, but to be fair they have put most if not all weapons actually used by USMC in the game. would be a bit daft including the SA80 or steyr aug.
