  • the point is being biracial your appearance can identify you as all black. your appearance does not identify you as 100% white. Tiffany you are a TOM.

  • no no no. some bi-racial ppl - scratch that. A lot of bi-racial ppl actually think that they are better. The sort of humility that you and Cory exudes is actually quite rare and I get that vibe. But don't pretend it's the "lower-thinking" folk verses you. That sort of wool-over-your-eyes thinking is what keeps us (lighter- and darker-skinned Blacks) apart. Acknowledge that you have the complexes you have. Acknowledge that the prevailing attitudes actually prevail...PLEASE!

  • @vobetoh

Bob Marley in interviews and articles I have read mentioned that he "did" realize that he was "both" so he is not against either because God made this so.....But he also realized how Black are oppressed and viciously brutalized, and disenfranchised and he felt the need to stand up for the Black people. Man Black women don't SEEM to be trying to escape being Black when the have relationships with other races...Black Men (not all) SEEM to do this a little more.

  • @tianitra I get that. I know that I'm not trying to get rid of my Blackness when I check out males of other races, but I acknowledge that i don't know if it actually goes that deep for Black men who date outside their race. The idea is thought provoking and definitely has my interest piqued. Thanks for sharing that bit of history. ^_^

  • @vobetoh bi-racial people do not think they are better. just some non- biracial people are insecure and have low self esteem and become intimidated by a lighter skin person when they definitely should not ever feel that way.

  • @AveolarD Wow, are you pale? Is that why you're saying this? You definitely are NOT paying attention if you believe that skin politics in the Black community doesn't exist. If you do, then please tell me where I can purchase the rose-colored glasses you must have on. By the way, deny it all you want, but if skin-tones didn't matter and light-skinned folk were known to be as humble as your comment suggests, this Tiffany girl wouldn't feel the need to defend her skin-tone in almost every video

  • @vobetoh are you not proud of the way you look? it's a mindset. i have a purple/blue/black friends who gets more opportunities and privileges than lighter skin blacks. he's confident and intelligent and people of all colors, especially like skin blacks pursue him in every way. you need to improve your self esteem sister girl. and btw, i have 20/20 vision.

  • @AveolarD lol. Are you serious? I need to put a pic or two up here so you know how damn fine I am. Just because I point out the obvious does not mean I have low self-esteem; it means that I'm pointing out the obvious. Your friend has got it goin' on and I would expect no less, but I'm not talking about the swarthy folk. It's the mindset of the lighter peoples that's in question. Are you trying to tell me that all of your fairer friends are meek and full of humility?

  • @vobetoh nothing is 100%. i'm sure you do not have to be a rocket scientist do to figure this out. this issue is a class thing not a color thing. do you live in a box? it's about being smart, kind and intelligent. please, no really please stop belittling yourself. don't give credence to this issue.

  • @AveolarD Belittling? I don't feel even a little smaller for having shared the truth on this wonderful evening. ^_^. But okay, you win. No more sharing tonight. Peace.

  • @vobetoh good. and btw, this was not a competition or debate. no one wins. we are all the same. always think outside of the box and love yourself. no one is better than you. as long is money is green and blood is red, we are the same. kumbayah.

  • @vobetoh nothing is 100%. i'm sure you do not have to be a rocket scientist do to figure this out. this issue is a class thing not a color thing. do you live in a box? it's about being smart, kind and intelligent. please, no, really please stop belittling yourself. don't give credence to this issue.

  • why do u only feel white in your heart?

  • when i was younger my dad and mum is is white english by way use to say to me that if i even forget that african and black , a white person would alway remaind you that you are black. i use to hate this, until i was called the N word by best friends. thats when it change, also i live in africa.

  • @ajahamza your parents should have told you to bust your friends in the nose if they called you the N word.

  • hes so cute! very down to earth it surprises me sometimes when mixed people dont understand the mentality of blacks it reminds me wow they really arent black after all lol! of course those types of blacks think they are inferior it's so transparent!

  • i really appreciate this comment. it reminds me that tho i am black i don't know what it's like to be exclusively black.

  • @dlfunky

    a buffer class of sorts......

  • do you smnoke marijuana miss tiffany jones

  • Non-mixed race people get more confused about us than anything else, some will assume that we are one thing or the other and will make comments in front of us that they normally wouldn't make in front of "the other", not realsing that in fact we ARE "the other", I've many a time heared things that I wasn't supposed to over here in England and it was rather disturbing although not suprising, and also ironic as well, I thought to myself "do you not realise what I am??".

    Many thanks.

  • Insightful. I gathered a lot from this. But just for the record, I'm not jealous of straight hair and my hair is nappy and I love it...but I know you mean it in a historical and general sense. keep up the great vids!

  • thank you!!

  • thank you! cheers!

  • Hey

This is the first vid i've checked out of yours but, if u haven't touched on it already, do you think there are differences between children who come from a BM/WW and WM/BW? in my experience there is...

    will watch more vids!

    Loly x

  • Hey Loly- i do think there are differences, i'm just not sure what they are. what do you think?

  • I enjoy watching your vids! It still gets on my nerves that this race issue is still out of hand! the division! I know that it is a generation thing that keeps getting passed down! You have 2talk about it in many vids it's like, why do we have to address this? Why does it still exist? Families should really instill in youth that they R beautiful & apart of a beautiful world. I don't see a rose as more beautiful than a tigerlilly! Wish ppl acknowledged the beauty in the differences/similarities.

  • thank you! and amen!

  • What is Race? When some people use the "race" they attach a biological meaning, still others use "race" as a socially constructed concept. It is clear that even though race does not have a biological meaning, it does have a social meaning which has been legally constructed. This is from an article on what is "race" and why is has no meaning(biologically)it was contructed by an elitist who used it to enslave people.(British Colonialism.)

  • This is why I do not use the word "race" because it doesn't exist scientifically. There is only one "race" Humans and those are the facts. Biologically Humans are the same.

  • If you believe in GOD and GOD made everyone equal...then why are people dividing themselves on color/hair texture/facial features/etc..? I do understand why it is an issue Globally...due to Colonialism the system of Superiority vs "Inferiority" was set in place from country to country all over the world in order to keep British rule well into the future.

  • Sorry Tiff that I left so many comments. I am going to have to start my own Vlog now.lol

  • no need to apologize at all! i think it's exciting that you're moved to make the contribution to the dialogue!

  • Athenas83 I am mixed also. I am African/Latino/Pacific Islander/and European. I am not saying one ethnic group is better than another because of biological evidence that the African gene is the dominant gene. I was taught Genetics when I was in grade school Science class as well as College.

  • I know you're not saying one ethnic group is greater than the other. You seem very accepting of all people :)

  • latino is a male person of latin culture, it didnt describe your racial makeup, niether did arican or european, i am guessing though by african you meant black, by european you meant white, and by pacific islander, you meant asian. but as far as latino that could be anything , black white indian asian, or any mix of all of these . Carmelo anthony, miguel nunez(juwana man), shar jackson, sammy sosa, sammy davis junior, salma hayek, marc anthony, george lopez, are all hispanic.

  • my dad is not light skinned but not a dark skinned black person, kinda in the middle I guess. My hair is a combination of my dad's and moms. Me and my siblings did get my dad's dark eyes and hair though.

  • :-)

  • You are funny@Athensas83. My confusion is trying to sort out who I am and it gets frustrating when I cannot find solid proof on my existence. I am so glad Tiff/You/and Cory are Vloging about this touchy touchy subject because I have had tears dealing with this issue for many years. Thanks for your info. Peace and lOve!

  • that trait can only be domincant if it is passed on by both parents. For example my grandmother had green eyes My child can only get green eyes if I pass on the gene to my child regardless of what color his moms eyes are.

  • Wow! Thank you so much for that :-D I hope to see a video from you some day!

  • i hope you do make one :)

sorry for the delayed response to your comment :(

  • I so agree with Cory on the .."SAME PEOPLE"..comment because it is how I was brought up in my house and I have been saying this for most of my life. I also agree with Cory on there are some people who think they are lower and that we don't feel that we are better.....etc...BRAVO!!! Great interview. When Cory says something it is very profound.

  • Tiff,I agree with you on what you feel in your heart and what you think (in your mind)as your true being. This is such a complexed issue that can't be summed up in a day. There needs to be more investigative books/interviews/documentaries(like yours) and you are one of the first to open those doors on Ytube. Thanks!!!

  • Thank you!! It is so complex :)

  • The notion that humankind can be divided along White, Black, and Yellow lines reveals the social rather than the scientific origin of race. The idea that there exist three races, and that these races are "Caucasoid," "Negroid," and "Mongoloid," is rooted in the European imagination of the Middle Ages. I know this is intense!

  • Warning:Another PROVOCATIVE statement coming!

If African people wanted to use science to prove what gene is dominant and what gene is recessive they could rightfully do so and prove it in the highest courts here in American and Europe. I am not saying one is better than the other(we are all the same), however it could be used as a defense to Racism.

  • The European gene is the most recessive gene then Asian.

  • i kinda think he looks more like his mom, features-wise...

  • thanks! i'm so glad you enjoyed him! thank you for spending so much time and thought on these pages. it is appreciated.

  • 4) society that caters to whites more than Blacks 5)oppression/poverty 6)Not knowing one self 7) A low self-esteem. But, how they are approached by biracials can make a huge difference in how they respond to them. Love both sides, but see the entire picture.

  • those are great explanations of how things got to be this way!! Thank you!

  • I liked how candid you two were. I thought that was pretty cool.

  • thanks!

  • I really like this video and the one before this one but I don't know how you can "act white" or "black" or speak "black" or "white". I am black and I speak in a manner in which is socially acceptable in any given situation... And personally I just feel human. How can you FEEL black or white? And once again, I am telling you that I have run into people of mixed race who just flat out denied being part black. I heard it. I'm not crazy.

  • it is just so strange to me that someone would deny that!

  • i totally believe you, it's just so weird! actually there was a girl at my high school who was darker than me and wore her hair curly and vehemently denied being black. she "was" native american and white too! it disgusted me!

  • I know. I completely understand.

  • You're right.

  • so true

  • That's true about seal's kids and halle's. I'd have to see Tiffany and Cory's parents to say that they look more African than European. Tiffany's hair strikes me as a combination of her parents if not more toward her European side because my hair is def "kinkier" than hers. Barack Obama to many looks just african but put in between his parents, literally a combination of them, and corey and tiffany look way whiter than obama.

  • "White in your heart"? Tiffany, What does that mean?

  • it means that even tho i think of myself as black or a person of color who is trying to solidify a biracial identity, in my heart i feel just as much white as i do black and in my heart i know i'm both even if i'm not sure what that means in the "real world" because it clearly means very little to most people.

  • awesome interview!

  • thanks! so glad you liked it, nina :)

  • wonderful!

  • thank you!
