no no no. some bi-racial ppl - scratch that. A lot of bi-racial ppl actually think that they are better. The sort of humility that you and Cory exudes is actually quite rare and I get that vibe. But don't pretend it's the "lower-thinking" folk verses you. That sort of wool-over-your-eyes thinking is what keeps us (lighter- and darker-skinned Blacks) apart. Acknowledge that you have the complexes you have. Acknowledge that the prevailing attitudes actually prevail...PLEASE!
Bob Marley in interviews and articles I have read mentioned that he "did" realize that he was "both" so he is not against either because God made this so.....But he also realized how Black are oppressed and viciously brutalized, and disenfranchised and he felt the need to stand up for the Black people. Man Black women don't SEEM to be trying to escape being Black when the have relationships with other races...Black Men (not all) SEEM to do this a little more.
@tianitra I get that. I know that I'm not trying to get rid of my Blackness when I check out males of other races, but I acknowledge that i don't know if it actually goes that deep for Black men who date outside their race. Hi Athenas83 Is your father dark or light African? I am saying that biologically the African gene is the dominant gene and when mixed, the probability is higher that the child will have "darker features" than not. For example: hair texture and facial features that are more common among Africans like your hair is.
Athenas83 I am mixed also. I am African/Latino/Pacific Islander/and European. I am not saying one ethnic group is better than another because of biological evidence that the African gene is the dominant gene. I was taught Genetics when I was in grade school Science class as well as College.
latino is a male person of latin culture, it didnt describe your racial makeup, niether did arican or european, i am guessing though by african you meant black, by european you meant white, and by pacific islander, you meant asian. but as far as latino that could be anything , black white indian asian, or any mix of all of these . Carmelo anthony, miguel nunez(juwana man), shar jackson, sammy sosa, sammy davis junior, salma hayek, marc anthony, george lopez, are all hispanic.
my dad is not light skinned but not a dark skinned black person, kinda in the middle I guess. My hair is a combination of my dad's and moms. Me and my siblings did get my dad's dark eyes and hair though.

Athenas83 you have both dominant and recessive genes as do I-Cory-Tiff and any mixed persons. You, Cory, and Tiff have an African Parent and a European parent, but you look different from them. Tiff and cory look more alike due to their darker features. Tiff is light and so is Cory, but from what I can see, you look more fair skin than they do. Also, your features are more European looking than theirs. I am not saying anyone is better it is just my observation.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Athenas83 if I were to do a very quick analysis I would say that Cory's and Tiff's looks are leaning more to the African side and your looks lean more to the European side. The ratio is 2 to 1 or 2 out of 3:That Half African Half European people(out of a study of 3) are more African looking than European.

Also to me the only facial feature Tiffany has that is more African than mine is her lips which is def a good thing! haha. My nose is more broad than hers. It's makin up for my lack of lips.
You are funny@Athensas83. My confusion is trying to sort out who I am and it gets frustrating when I cannot find solid proof on my existence. I am so glad Tiff/You/and Cory are Vloging about this touchy touchy subject because I have had tears dealing with this issue for many years. Thanks for your info. Peace and lOve!

African gnes are usally stronger, any genes for darker hair darker eyes, darker skin are domincant, its just biology, it doesnt mean that a child will take after the darker parent though. for example Im black my grandmothers eyes were green, my father is carrying a gene for green eyes he passed it on to me, if my wife happens to be white and carries the gene, we cold have a child with green eyes, My grandfathers dominant gene coding for brown eyes, overpowerd my grandmothers. So its just bio
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Actually everyone is different because I have more like African American hair, but my biological brother has pure white people's hair. So, its random. White can be dominant.
that trait can only be domincant if it is passed on by both parents. For example my grandmother had green eyes My child can only get green eyes if I pass on the gene to my child regardless of what color his moms eyes are.
I so agree with Cory on the .."SAME PEOPLE"..comment because it is how I was brought up in my house and I have been saying this for most of my life. I also agree with Cory on there are some people who think they are lower and that we don't feel that we are better.....etc...BRAVO!!! Great interview. When Cory says something it is very profound.
Tiff,I agree with you on what you feel in your heart and what you think (in your mind)as your true being. This is such a complexed issue that can't be summed up in a day. There needs to be more investigative books/interviews/documentaries(like yours) and you are one of the first to open those doors on Ytube. Thanks!!!

Another important factor in this very enigmatic subject is the Science of Dominant vs Recessive genes. Scientist have proven(many decades ago) that the African gene is the most dominant gene in our existence. Meaning if the African gene were to be mixed with another gene, say European, the probability is that child would be more African looking than European looking etc...I did not make this up it is in the medical books at NYU...(sorry for any typos I type fast.)

We know that Europeans have many different colors of eyes and hair, whereas most Africans and East Asians have dark hair and dark eyes.So why is it that Europeans nearly all have this mutation? The answer is not known. One possibility is that our need for vitamins played a role. We know that Vitamin D is very important for avoiding bone diseases like rickets. In sunny places, we can make plenty of Vitamin D. But in dark places, such as northern Europe, we cant make Vitamin D as well.

There are no genetic characteristics possessed by all Blacks but not by non- Blacks there is no gene or cluster of genes common to all Whites but not to non-Whites. One's race is not determined by a single gene or gene cluster
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
That is, greater genetic variation exists within the populations typically labeled Black and White than between these populations. This finding refutes the supposition that racial divisions reflect fundamental genetic differences.
The notion that humankind can be divided along White, Black, and Yellow lines reveals the social rather than the scientific origin of race. The idea that there exist three races, and that these races are "Caucasoid," "Negroid," and "Mongoloid," is rooted in the European imagination of the Middle Ages. I know this is intense!
If African people wanted to use science to prove what gene is dominant and what gene is recessive they could rightfully do so and prove it in the highest courts here in American and Europe. I am not saying one is better than the other(we are all the same), however it could be used as a defense to Racism.

i don't agree with that. Even Barack Obama doesn't look more African than white. If you stick him up against a picture of his dad and mom he looks smack dab in the middle.
4) society that caters to whites more than Blacks 5)oppression/poverty 6)Not knowing one self 7) A low self-esteem. But, how they are approached by biracials can make a huge difference in how they respond to them. Love both sides, but see the entire picture.

Well, a lot of Blacks do think that Whites and lighter-skinned people are better. But, there are reasons for it: 1) slavery 2) racial discrimination 3) The media that seems to portray the closer to white is the better 4)Society t
I really like this video and the one before this one but I don't know how you can "act white" or "black" or speak "black" or "white". I am black and I speak in a manner in which is socially acceptable in any given situation... And personally I just feel human. How can you FEEL black or white? And once again, I am telling you that I have run into people of mixed race who just flat out denied being part black. I heard it. I'm not crazy.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
But I was talking to a guidance counselor in high school and I mentioned that she was the only black one and she flat out told me that she wasn't. And when I looked at her like, "I have eyes you're black" she said "Oh no! I'm part columbian!"... I've also had a college classmate that did the same thing, only she said she was part Native American. I've heard it...
i totally believe you, it's just so weird! actually there was a girl at my high school who was darker than me and wore her hair curly and vehemently denied being black. she "was" native american and white too! it disgusted me!

And when I looked at her like, "I have eyes you're black" she said "Oh no! I'm part columbian!"...
*****************
Some people mistake ethnicity and race. A person can be "black" and Columbian. That girl's "ethnicity" was Columbian but her "race" was probably of African descent. It's not either/or. America wasn't the only one who had slaves.

Take a look at Seal and Heidi Klum's kids. Those kids, although they are mixed, have "dark features" The hair and the skin tone as well as the facial features. Halle Berry and Aubrey has a child that looks more like Halle. Halle's baby does look a little like both of them, but leans more towards Halle's features for example skin tone. Halle is mixed and still her baby looks more like her, at this point, than her European father, Aubrey.
That's true about seal's kids and halle's. I'd have to see Tiffany and Cory's parents to say that they look more African than European. Tiffany's hair strikes me as a combination of her parents if not more toward her European side because my hair is def "kinkier" than hers. Barack Obama to many looks just african but put in between his parents, literally a combination of them, and corey and tiffany look way whiter than obama.
it means that even tho i think of myself as black or a person of color who is trying to solidify a biracial identity, in my heart i feel just as much white as i do black and in my heart i know i'm both even if i'm not sure what that means in the "real world" because it clearly means very little to most people.
the point is being biracial your appearance can identify you as all black. your appearance does not identify you as 100% white. Tiffany you are a TOM.

Hi Athenas83 Is your father dark or light African? I am saying that biologically the African gene is the dominant gene and when mixed, the probability is higher that the child will have "darker features" than not. For example: hair texture and facial features that are more common among Africans like your hair is.
UNICORNBLUE2008 3 years ago
Athenas83 I am mixed also. I am African/Latino/Pacific Islander/and European. I am not saying one ethnic group is better than another because of biological evidence that the African gene is the dominant gene. I was taught Genetics when I was in grade school Science class as well as College.
UNICORNBLUE2008 3 years ago
I know you're not saying one ethnic group is greater than the other. You seem very accepting of all people :)

latino is a male person of latin culture, it didnt describe your racial makeup, niether did arican or european, i am guessing though by african you meant black, by european you meant white, and by pacific islander, you meant asian. but as far as latino that could be anything , black white indian asian, or any mix of all of these .

Actually everyone is different because I have more like African American hair, but my biological brother has pure white people's hair. So, its random. White can be dominant.
bananabebop 2 years ago
that trait can only be domincant if it is passed on by both parents.

UNICORNBLUE2008 3 years ago

That is, greater genetic variation exists within the populations typically labeled Black and White than between these populations. This finding refutes the supposition that racial divisions reflect fundamental genetic differences.
UNICORNBLUE2008 3 years ago
The notion that humankind can be divided along White, Black, and Yellow lines reveals the social rather than the scientific origin of race. The idea that there exist three races, and that these races are "Caucasoid," "Negroid," and "Mongoloid," is rooted in the European imagination of the Middle Ages. I know this is intense!

Warning:Another PROVOCATIVE statement coming!
If African people wanted to use science to prove what gene is dominant and what gene is recessive they could rightfully do so and prove it in the highest courts here in American and Europe. I am not saying one is better than the other(we are all the same), however it could be used as a defense to Racism.
UNICORNBLUE2008 3 years ago
The European gene is the most recessive gene then Asian.

i don't agree with that. Even Barack Obama doesn't look more African than white. If you stick him up against a picture of his dad and mom he looks smack dab in the middle.

i kinda think he looks more like his mom, features-wise...

I heard it. I'm not crazy.

it is just so strange to me that someone would deny that!

I've heard it...
hollyhollyrose 3 years ago
i totally believe you, it's just so weird! actually there was a girl at my high school who was darker than me and wore her hair curly and vehemently denied being black. she "was" native american and white too! it disgusted me!

UNICORNBLUE2008 3 years ago
That's true about seal's kids and halle's. I'd have to see Tiffany and Cory's parents to say that they look more African than European. Tiffany's hair strikes me as a combination of her parents if not more toward her European side because my hair is def "kinkier" than hers. Barack Obama to many looks just african but put in between his parents, literally a combination of them, and corey and tiffany look way whiter than obama.

"White in your heart"? Tiffany, What does that mean?
PhillyStress 3 years ago
it means that even tho i think of myself as black or a person of color who is trying to solidify a biracial identity, in my heart i feel just as much white as i do black and in my heart i know i'm both even if i'm not sure what that means in the "real world" because it clearly means very little to most people.
