I have an original macbook pro (outdated hardware.. it has nvidia 7600...). I also have a brand new Asus.

The asus charger design broke the pin. It came defective. It was damaged in the firist repair and going out for a second repair. It was 4 months old before the charger broke and lasted 2 days before the case fell apart after repairs.

My mac has had no trouble at all and probably wont due to smart design. Hardware and software. The virus thing is a minor argument.

I am a recent Mac convert myself, and although there are many advantages to OSX and the Mac hardware (27" iMac) I have to admit that they're pretty much equal, and have their own respective strong suits...

@indiandougiemaster the strong suit is the incredible hardware they stuff in there for the price they charge and you know it lol. If they designed some good chargers that were perhaps flexible or magnetic, then I wouldn't have sent my asus in an additional 2 times since my last comment.

As for mac, I'll say they boast better hardware integration. Shit graphics card, ran crysis2 on low settings(bootcamp). Putting it in a window reduced some stuttering in the cities.

My Windows laptop does everything i need it to do. Microsoft office, Video editing, gaming, etc. Instead of buying an extra box at home to play games I just do it all on my laptop! Pretty convenient too since i can take my laptop to my friends' house and play a LAN game

Macs are better. When we have a bad connection on the desktop(PC), it would like 30 minutes to load a page. With my MacBook pro 2011, I can watch 2 YouTube vids at once with 10 more windows openend and still have no lag.

-More memory? OHH Another Loss! Mac's can come standard with the apple brand memory and 32 GB being the maximum. Whereas on windows it is possible to get up to 150gb or RAM.

I've seen PC monitors with reolutions up to 3,840 x 2,400. you need a powerful GPU to power that type of resolution which Macs dont have. and yes I do know why it says 1gb, your iMac came standard with 1gb of ddr2 i assume. The mobo on the iMacs support more than 1gb of RAM. if you want to upgrade your ram, find the maximum your motherbord supports and if it is ddr2 or ddr3 then buy it from newegg or apple website.

To all the haters. Look at the gfx card of this thing. 256mb 9400M, not really the top of the line card there. Runs better than many would expect for that card. And yes, this is through an emulator. I really hope that with the advent of Steam for Mac, more and more game makers will resort to making games for the Mac, as they did ten years ago. I miss seeing Macintosh in the hardware requirements.

@Ebaoy501 He used Crossover. Bootcamp is still better if you want to run games, but it's a lot of work to switch between the OSes, and IMO that kinda ruins the fun of having a Mac.

so, because of quicktime 10, you can seethrough the walls in game. That flickering does not look like a problem with the recorder, more the game. However, about to try this for myself upon the cider port's completion.

I now have this version of the game on my machine. I see similar issues with no quicktime, on a much lower scale. Like the occasional flickering texture, or maybe a wall or rock will like half non-existant and pure black. I have not tried recording, but I'll take your word for it. Either way, I don't think this version is at all worth playing if you have access to any other version at all, which includes bootcamp. Custom cider ports interest me, as cider ports are interesting.

sorry to say it, but as great as it is to even get it working on a mac, theres no hope of multiplayer and clearly it has some difficulty because it is chippy even without the screen flicker. as a result, i think bootcamp is the only option for a good clean game until developers make the actual game for mac :( im kinda tired of porting games the only work a bit and its getting tedious.
