I know this guy, he's my neighbor. First off, he's old, but not that old, he's in his 80s. Second, the guy is the neighborhood mental patient. Last but not least, several months ago, he claimed he was from another planet here on a mission to rescue a local car dealership from going broke... He nuts but harmless...
Is there a tree steroid or growth hormone that this old elm could be injected with? Could rich soil be added around the tree, even on the sidewalk? Can the exterior Dutch Elm disease be washed away? I don't know how much longer Frank has, but it would be nice if his beloved Elm could hang around until he goes. & is it really worth this effort. I mean hell, it's just one old tree and one old man. This is one of those times when the greater good could be enhanced by meeting the individual need.
taking his tree from him WILL kill him :( he lived longer than most im sure hes been wondering WTF happens after the lights go out for a long time now.
Ok my turn to Go plant A few trees In Birmingham England something to live long after you are gone. Something to help clean the air for when you come back. and climb in when you are young. or old

Dutch elm disease took 4 elms @ my parents house. The Siberian elm survived, and was resistant to this disease.
