  • WOW SUCH A CUTE SOUTHERN ACCENT!!

  • this is the best pigment video!

  • Awesome video =)

  • do you have to press them ??

  • @padillalove1 you don't have to but it's more likely to crack and fall apart if you don't. While she says 15-20 minutes, i would let it dry a bit longer than that before you press it. It all depends on the % alcohol you use and how much you use. But you don't want to try and press it while it's still wet.

  • Thanks soo much :D This is great :)

  • how long did you have to wait untill you pressed it w the quarter?

  • I've heard references to Mac pigment and pressing, and never knew what it meant. so informative and a great tutorial. thanks for sharing.

  • Erica, thank you so much for your tutorial. I'm so excited to know of a site that sells true mac pigments for a great price. Can't wait to order some. Have a great day, Sherry in Tx

  • Erica thanks so much for the video, I just order my palattes and pans from starsmakeuphaven! Would this work for NYX pigments too or do you need a binder?

  • You would need to use a binder, I pressed a matte eyeshadow with Chi Silk Infusion the other day and it turned out great :D Or you can go to Sally's and they have a generic biosilk that will work just the same I just put some of that and some alcohol and it worked perfect

  • You can also get a binder at diycosmetics(dot)com. you only need about a drop or two and regular amounts of alcohol to press matte and mineral pigments.

To my knowledge, EZ press is a dilluted mixture so that you can use it on its own. Personally, I prefer the binder from that website and rubbing alcohol. You can also use the pure binder in pure mica powders so they would adhere better to the skin. I hope this helps some of you=)

  • Thanks so much for the info! I will check that out! Blessings, Erica xoxo

  • Wonderful! Thank you.

  • True true but I like to save the residue in the jar in case for some reason I want to use the pigment lose :D Plus 99% of the ones I had were in bags so I was just used to it lol :P

  • I loved this video Erica. Very, very helpful. I got all the materials together and I'm going to be order some pigments and the eyeshadow pallet tomorrow. Such a great idea!

  • Great tutorial!!!

  • Thanks so much!!!!!

  • erika this was an amazing pressing video!!!! i have to save up some money then im gonna order some pigments! :)

  • Great job !!

  • where can i get the pans?

  • Either Ebay or Starsmakeuphaven are the best places to look. I would check both and see where you can get the best deal. :D

  • that had to be the most helpful pigment pressing video I've ever seen. no lie :D

    thanks girl

  • Awsome tutorial :) Does this work for MAC's glitter pigments?

  • wow that's excellent!!... i always wantd to know how they pressed shadows.

    Lovely

    Thanks

    xx

  • Glad that I watched this, because I NO idea what people were talking about before! Thanks so much for sharing what you know!

  • Great video!

  • Uhm I have Pressing Medium by Coastal Scents but I 'm unable to press it, I just fail everytime I try :P But is the alcohol nesscesearly (omg can't spell)? Cause then that is the problem.. I actually don't have any MAC Pigment, I do have GOSH pigments/effect powders :} But you might not know what that is.. Omg I'm asking too much lol :P

  • The problem is... They aren't MAC pigments. MAC's formula, enables them to be pressed. They have Binders in their formula making it easier for them to come together with the right agent. Others fail... and do not have this... or atleast thats what i know... dont hold me to that one...

  • Well to use EZ Press You have to be using it with mineral eyeshadows or shadows with no binders. If you use that with MAC Pigments it will mess them up because the EZ stuff has binders in it and pigments have binders in them so it will be too much. If you are doing MAC pigments just use alcohol. If you are doing any other kind of shadow use EZ Press or Biosilk. :D

  • Thank you so much for answering my question (and so fast!) But I actually don't know if my GOSH Effect Powders are minerals or pigments, it only says it's an 'effect powder', I'm confused but I think I just have to give it up :) Thanks for your help, Erica, you're such a sweetheart <3

  • I'm pretty sure GOSH Effect Powders are the same thing as MAC pigments.

I find most GOSH products work about the same or better than MAC products.

  • Yeah, I know right! But the problem is, I don't know if GOSH Effect Powders has binders in it you know..

  • As far as I can find the Gosh Pigments don't have the binders in them like MAC so they wont hold together, they will just fall back apart. To press those you will either have to have Biosilk, Chi Silk Infusion or MAC face and body mixing medium to get them to stay together. Sorry, I know that is going to be a hassle. I know your pain. I have a bunch of mineral shadows I want to press .GRR. But enkore has a great video on how to do this if you want to check it out! :D

  • you ARE the best! thanks for showing us

  • i see you got partner congrast!

  • do these work just like regular shadows??

  • Yup, identical! I like them a lot better when they are pressed. They are so much easier to play with!

  • great video! so glad to see you around youtube again erica :)

  • great, thank you :-)

  • i love this :)

thanks so much, it was so helpful and i love the picture at the beginning! is that you?

    xoxo

  • geougous Erica

  • at :30

what color is the bright green one?

  • Oh wait sorry I had that wrong lol That one is landscape green and it's a pro color. Sorry about that I got mixed up. :P That one is a matte though so you can't press it. :( It wont stay together if you do.

  • thank you

  • hey u have not talk to u in a long time like the video

  • OMG I can't wait to try this.

  • That is so true, no need to buy eyeshadows from mac, just press your own! :)

  • This was great!!.. I like how you explained it.. and it was quick!

  • Thanks for this video!
