@mulholland1985 yes hes a co-producer of EVERY metallica song/album.

the way metallica used to work before st.anger: everybody reacords ideas on tapes then lars and james go through them and arrange the parts. usually james comes up with most of the rhthym guitars and lars tells him what and where to play it. and if you check all their albums -again, before st.anger- it says producer: hetfield and ulrich. and he also takes care of ALL the business side of metallica. after all its his band.

@eyepatchinc Not for sure but I think I read somewhere that both Kirk and James has recorded rhythm tracks since load.

@mseals29 I remember maybe from Behind the Music that Kirk has been contributing to the writing process since Load whereas before, he only did the solos and nothing else, so you may be right. There are a few videos online where James is teaching Kirk some rhythm riffs, so it kinda implies James writes them all, but that may not be so.
