One of the Ilonggo songs that I learned from my Lolo while growing up in Negros in the 70's. I'm glad you make it alive in you tube. This version rocks!

Hi,Lolo Guring Abeto of Binalbagan, Negros Occidental was the one who made the lyrics of DALAWIDAW IKAW, and while the music was composed by my great-grandfather Maestro Restituto Ratilla, a Manhattan Orchestra Conductor and Arranger...it was a very long time ago already.

There seems to a rewording of lyrics from what was taught to me in my younger years. Like "balani mong yuhom, nga may binalaybay" and the missing stanza... Tumandok sa bukid na tao sa payag, NAYON SA GATIGAY BUHI NGA TUBURAN, TUBIG GA ......

A great Ilongo video song and a fitting tribute to the great composer - Congressman Augurio Abeto. It reminds me of Anthony de Mello's great book, The Song of the Bird
